Sept. 18, 2009
Center Valley, Pa. - In an effort to keep followers more informed, the Patriot League continues to diversify its media coverage through the use of social outlets during the 2009-10 season. Check out the latest information at the Patriot League Gameday Blog, Twitter and Facebook pages and find out what's coming up next, including content that is exclusive to each of the three sites.
There are two locations to find links to the social media sites through the front page of the Patriot League website. Each social media site has a graphic link located below the right-hand sidebar, and links for all three sites are also included in the multimedia section located on the sidebar. Links for the sites are also included at the sidebars of each of the individual sport pages.
See below for a synposis of what's going on and what's to come at each of the social media sites.
The Patriot League Gameday Blog highlighted accomplishments on the football field from over the weekend, and took a look at the national and regional recognition for Patriot League teams and student-athletes this week. The blog includes extended information looking back and looking forward at Patriot League Football, and was the only place to see all of the national success of the Patriot League in one location. The blog will once again be the place to go for extended coverage of the football weekend, with updates after both the afternoon and evening contests and some extra thoughts after the weekend is complete.
The Patriot League Twitter page, which is up to nearly 300 followers, has included quick links to releases from the Patriot League website, information from the member schools and tidbits on the League. Information exclusive to the site included the release of all of the Patriot League weekly awards before they were published at www.patriotleague.org, and links to national and regional rankings, as well as statistical feats, from both the Patriot League and its member schools. Over the weekend, go to the Patriot League Twitter page for score updates from the football games and links to any highlights that come out of another busy stretch of action.
The Patriot League Facebook page is the place to go to join other League fans in discussing and keeping up with the Patriot League. The site also included a photo gallery from Saturday's Lafayette/Georgetown football game, and links to polls posted on the Patriot League website. Look for more photos, videos and discussion topics on the Patriot League Facebook page soon.
