Center Valley, Pa.--Patriot League Executive Director Carolyn Schlie Femovich announced Tuesday the hiring of Quinton Smith as Patriot League Assistant Director for Sports Management and Compliance.
"I am very pleased to welcome Quinton to the Patriot League office staff," Femovich said. "I am confident that he will contribute significantly to the oversight of compliance initiatives, as well as the administration of Patriot League championships and sports management."
"I am excited to join the Patriot League staff as the League has a great reputation both athletically and academically," Smith said. "I look forward to contributing to its continued success."
Smith comes to the Patriot League after serving nearly a year as an enforcement intern at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis. While with the NCAA, Smith processed secondary violations, while also developing educational documents and investigating violations related to agents, gambling and amateurism. In addition, Smith assisted in the preparation of the Emerging Leaders Seminar.
Prior to joining the NCAA, Smith was an intern at his alma mater, Indiana University. While at Indiana, Smith developed materials and presentations related to recruiting. In addition, he assisted in academic services within the athletics department.
Smith also served as an intern at the Cocoa Sports Center in Florida in 2007. While there, he recruited teams to participate in youth soccer tournaments and prepared schedules for tournaments. He also provided assistance to the Olympic Development Program.
A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Smith earned his bachelor's degree from Indiana University. He majored in sports marketing and management with a minor in business. He received his master's degree from Indiana, studying kinesiology with an emphasis in sports management and a specialization in athletic administration.
