Patriot League Announces Hiring of Ginger Fulton

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Ginger Fulton, a veteran of athletic administration for nearly 20 years, has been hired by the Patriot League as its Associate Executive Director for Sport Management and Governance, it was announced Wednesday by Executive Director Carolyn Schlie Femovich. Fulton joins the League office after a 13-year stint as the Senior Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator at Seton Hall.

"I am thrilled to have an opportunity to work with such a prestigious group of institutions," Fulton said. "The commitment to high academic excellence as well as athletic competitiveness makes the Patriot League special. I am honored to be a part of such a values-based organization. I want to thank Executive Director, Carolyn Schlie Femovich, for her confidence in me and look forward to celebrating the successes of our student-athletes."

"I am very pleased to welcome Ginger to the Patriot League office staff," Femovich said. "Her many years as an athletic administrator at several Division I institutions and understanding of the challenges and issues of intercollegiate athletics will enable her to make immediate contributions to the League. We are very fortunate to bring someone with her qualifications and experiences to our team. Ginger will play an integral role in directing the League's sport management and governance operations and assisting with League operations."

During her time at Seton Hall, Fulton was responsible for a variety of large-scale departmental tasks, including managing its internal operations, reviewing and implementing policies and procedures, overseeing scheduling, sports medicine and NCAA compliance, and serving as the primary administrator for women's basketball and men's golf. She represented Seton Hall on various NCAA and Big East committees, including as chair of the conference's Golf Committee from 1999-2011 and its SWA Committee from 2007-11. In addition, she served as tournament manager during the 1999 NCAA Men's Basketball East Regional.

Before joining Seton Hall, Fulton spent five years as the Associate Director of Athletics at Xavier University. During her tenure, she administered 10 sports, served as the athletic department's SWA, was an active participant on several Atlantic 10 committees and served as the tournament manager for the 1997 NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four. In all, Fulton spent six years at Xavier, initially joining the institution in 1992 to serve as head coach of its women's golf team before adding her administrative duties a year later.

In addition to representing her institution on various conference committees, she was a member of the NCAA Championships/Competition Cabinet from 2002-06, and served three years on the National Association of College Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Executive Committee from 2001-04.

An avid golfer, Fulton played professionally for nearly 20 years and was a Class "A" member of the PGA of America from 1990-2000. She competed in numerous tournaments during her career from 1982-1998, and qualified for the 1988 U.S. Women's Open.

Fulton currently serves as the host of the NJAIAW National Girls and Women in Sport Luncheon, a position she's held since 1999.

A native of Springfield, Ohio, Fulton graduated from the Ohio State University in 1980 with a B.S. in Education and added an M.A. in Education from Seton Hall in 2001.
