Nearly 750 Student-Athletes Make Fall Academic Honor Roll

Center Valley, Pa. - Patriot League student-athletes once again showed their skills in the classroom in the last semester, as 747 men and women from the seven fall championship sports qualified for the Academic Honor Roll.

To be eligible for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.2 grade-point average in the semester of their sport's championship competition, which included men and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men and women's soccer and volleyball in the fall.

Four of the seven sports had more than 100 student-athletes on the Academic Honor Roll, with football (199), women's cross country (116), men's cross country (111) and women's soccer (110) leading the way. There were 86 recipients in men's soccer, 78 in field hockey and 47 in volleyball as the seven sports combined for 77 more honorees than last year's total of 669. Five of the seven fall sports had an increased number of Academic Honor Roll recipients from the previous year.

Bucknell led all schools with 140 student-athletes on the Fall Academic Honor Roll, while Lafayette also topped the century mark with 102 recipients. Lehigh had 95 student-athletes honored, while American and Holy Cross each had 91.
