Feb. 6, 2012
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- The Patriot League announced its weekly awards for Jan. 30-Feb. 5 in indoor track & field and swimming & diving Monday.
All eight schools were in action this past weekend as the indoor track and field regular season winds to a close. With just one weekend left before the Patriot League Championships at Bucknell on Feb. 17-19, several teams and student-athletes are hitting on a cylinders. Bucknell's Tom Barr and Navy's Jess Palacio both had big weekends again as they were among several IC4A and ECAC qualifiers.
The last dual meets of the 2011-12 swimming and diving season took place over the weekend with just a handful of Patriot League teams in competition. Over half of the League was idle in anticipation of the League's Swimming and Diving Championships set for Feb. 16-18 at Navy's Lejeune Hall in Annapolis, Md. The Mids wrapped up their dual meet schedule as the men swept a doubleheader last week against visiting Columbia and Johns Hopkins. Holy Cross and Lehigh were both in the pool this weekend as well in their final showings before next week's championship meet.
