Jan. 31, 2013

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Sophomore setter Mary Vaccaro, the 2012 Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year, headlined a group of seven Army players and 71 student-athletes across the league named to this year's Patriot League Volleyball Academic Honor Roll.

Joining Vaccaro earning honor roll accolades was senior co-captains Ariana Mankus and Francine Vasquez. Juniors Christiana Fairfield, Margaux Jarka and Lauren Wood, along with freshman Zoe Kreitenberg, rounded out the group of Black Knights on the list.

Mankus, the 2012 Patriot League Player of the Year, garnered a spot on the conference's honor roll for the fourth-straight year, while Vasquez was honored for the second year in a row. Wood is a three-time honoree and Jarka, Fairfield and Kreitenberg got the nod for the first time this spring.

Lehigh led the 2012 list with 13 selections, followed by American and Bucknell, which placed 11 apiece. Colgate, Lafayette and Navy followed with eight each, while Army placed seven and Holy Cross five. For the complete list, click here.
