ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Patriot League Rookie of the Year Erica Kosienski's goal late in the first half stood up as second seed Boston University captured the 2013 Patriot League Women's Soccer Championship with a 1-0 victory over No. 1 Navy at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility here on Sunday.

The 25th-ranked Terriers (14-3-4) advance to their 11th NCAA Tournament. They'll learn their first round destination during Monday's selection show on NCAA.com to air starting at 4:30 p.m.

Navy's season ends at 16-5-0.

Boston University senior goalkeeper Andrea Green posted back-to-back shutouts in the semifinals and championship and was named the Tournament MVP. She joined teammates Kosienski, Kylie Strom and McKenzie Hollenbaugh on the All-Tournament Team. Navy added three in Jade Seabrook, Morgan Dankanich and Kaylie Davidson.

Kosienski's goal came at the 41:55 mark. Her shot from the right side eluded Navy senior keeper Elizabeth Hoerner, bounced down off the crossbar and just crossed the line to put the Terriers in front.

Navy led 5-2 in shots after the first half, with both Green and Hoerner making one save apiece. The Terriers outshot the Mids 8-4 in the second and finished with a 10-9 edge for the game. In corner kicks, BU had the advantage 8-6.

Hoerner stopped three shots in the second half to end the game with four saves. Green saved one in the second 45 minutes.

Dankanich, the Offensive Player of the Year, was held to just one shot attempt in the game. Kahra Kelty and Lexi Ricketts posted Navy's two shots on goal, while five different players logged on-net attempts for the Terriers.

Navy has fallen in each of the last three League title games, and is now 3-8-0 all-time in the contest.
