CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- In the month of June, the Patriot League invited fans to vote on Twitter for the best players and teams of the 2012-13 season, and after four separate votes, the winners have been selected.

Lafayette picked up a pair of wins, as Leopard fans pulled together to name Lafayette field hockey the Best Women's Team of the Year. Two weeks later, the fans rallied to name Deanna DiCroce the Top Women's Player of the Year. DiCroce, a senior on the field hockey team, led the Leopards to their second straight Patriot League title in 2012. She was the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year with 15 goals and 44 points during the regular season. She added three goals and an assist in the Patriot League Tournament.

Leading the way, though, was American men's soccer forward Colin Seigfreid, who took to Twitter himself to bolster his own campaign, and after 36 hours of voting, he garnered a League-best 202 votes to be named the Top Men's Player of the Year. Seigfreid scored 17 points on five goals and seven assists to lead the Patriot League in 2012. He also was the Scholar-Athlete of the Year in men's soccer.

In the fourth Twitter vote, Colgate football won the Best Men's Team of the Year, mimicking their on-field performance to claim the honor. Colgate needed a late comeback in their game against Lehigh to claim the Patriot League title, and in the Twitter vote, the Raiders rallied over the final eight hours to edge out Lafayette men's soccer by one vote.
