Patriot League Weekly Awards - 9.3.13 
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- The Patriot League announced its weekly awards for Aug. 26-Sept. 1 in women's soccer, men's soccer, field hockey, volleyball and cross country.

BRINE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
PALOMA PEREZ, NAVY Sr., F/M, Mobile, Ala.
Perez gave Navy a big lift as her second-half goal in the 79th minute propelled the Mids to a 1-0 victory over North Florida in Annapolis, Md., on Friday night. It was her fourth career game-winner and gave Navy some momentum heading into Sunday's matchup with No. 15 Maryland in College Park. It's the fourth career weekly nod for Perez, who picked up one each in her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons.

McKENZIE HOLLENBAUGH, BOSTON UNIVERSITY So., D, Glastonbury, Conn.
Hollenbaugh becomes the first Terrier to earn a weekly award from the Patriot League after anchoring BU to a 1-0-1 week. She played all 200 minutes and led a defense that allowed South Carolina, ranked No. 11 by Soccer America entering the contest, just five shots for the game and none in the second half of regulation and first overtime. On Sunday BU's defense hunkered down in the second half. Nursing a 1-0 lead, the Terriers allowed just one shot in the last 45 minutes in a 2-0 victory over Northwestern.
BRINE GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
CHARLENE BELANGER, AMERICAN Jr., GK, Alexandria, Va.
Belanger went 1-1 on the week and started it off with a two-save shutout of crosstown rival Howard to give American its first win of the season on Friday. On Sunday Belanger made eight saves in a 2-0 defeat at Liberty. It's her second career Goalkeeper of the Week nod after earning one last season (Oct. 15).

SARAH COY, COLGATE Fr., F, Boca Raton, Fla.
Coy earns her first Rookie of the Week citation after scoring her first career goal in the first half of Thursday's 3-0 shutout of Siena in Hamilton, N.Y. She tallied what stood up as the game-winner 20 minutes into the match against the Saints, which marked the Raiders' first 3-0 start since 2006. Coy has three points on the season.

LINDSAY MURI, AMERICAN Jr., F/M, Burlington, Conn.
Scored unassisted in the 32nd minute at Howard to give American a 1-0 win on Friday. Totalled a game-high five shots and four on goal against the Bison.
MOLLY McGUIGAN, ARMY Sr., D, Boulder, Colo.
Headed in a corner kick late in the first half to open the scoring in Army's 2-0 victory at Massachusetts Sunday afternoon.
MADISON CLEMENS, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Sr., F, Reading, Pa.
Netted her first goal of the season in the 17th minute of BU's 2-0 win over Northwestern on Sunday.
JENNA PANEPINTO, COLGATE So., D/M, Buffalo, N.Y.
Led the Raiders defensively from center midfield in Thursday's 3-0 win over Siena and Sunday's tough 1-0 loss at Syracuse. Picked up four blocks against the Orange.
KAELIN KING, LAFAYETTE Fr., F, La Canada, Calif.
Her tally in the 26th minute stood up as the game-winner in Lafayette's 3-2 victory over Sacred Heart on Sunday. The Leopards are 2-0.
JADE SEABROOK, NAVY Jr., D, St. Paris, Ohio
Anchored Navy to a 1-0 shutout of North Florida and held No. 15 Maryland, which entered the game averaging 13 shots per game, to just six in Sunday's 2-0 win for the Terrapins.

BRINE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DALE LUDWIG, AMERICAN Fr., F, Palmyre, Va.
Ludwig started his first collegiate outing and made it a memorable one, scoring twice and assisting on the eventual game-winning goal in American's 3-1 victory over George Washington in the opener for the D.C. College Cup at George Mason. He scored his team's first goal of the season in the first half and added an insurance goal in the 76th minute to help clinch the win. He totaled six shots in his first game, including four on goal, and added another attempt on net in Sunday's 2-1 loss to George Mason.

JAMIE LIBBY, LOYOLA MARYLAND Sr., D, Romford, England
Libby made a crucial defensive play early in the second half with the Greyhounds trailing Saint Joseph's 1-0 on the road. After a Hawk player headed a loose ball over Loyola keeper Thurman Van Riper, Libby chased down the bouncer as it neared the goal line and cleared it out of danger. That play proved critical as Loyola was able to score the equalizer in the 59th minute to salvage a 1-1 draw in Philadelphia on Friday. Libby becomes the first Greyhound to pick up a weekly award in men's soccer.
BRINE GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
WINSTON BOLDT, ARMY Jr., GK, St. Louis, Mo.
Boldt was the benefactor of a quick-striking offense and solid defense in front of him in picking up a two-save shutout in Army's 3-0 victory Friday afternoon over VMI at West Point. The junior from St. Louis stopped one shot in each half, and was spotted a 2-0 advantage by Rookie of the Week Nick Williams after 29:21 of play. Boldt picks up his fifth career Goalkeeper of the Week nod. He also opened last season by claiming the award in the season's first week.

NICK WILLIAMS, ARMY Fr., F, South Orange, N.J.
Like American's Dale Ludwig, Williams made an immediate impact for the Black Knights in his first collegiate appearance. After earning the start, Williams scored a pair of first-half goal on his only two shots of the game to help set up Army to a 3-0 victory over visiting VMI Friday afternoon at West Point.

Netted his first two career goals in Bucknell's 3-2 overtime loss to Canisius on Friday.

CONNOR THOMPSON, LOYOLA MARYLAND Jr., M, Swindon, England
Scored the game-tying goal in the 59th minute in Loyola's 1-1 tie at Saint Joseph's.
JAMIE DUBYOSKI, NAVY So., F, Catonsville, Md.
Tallied both Navy goals over the weekend against Davidson and Appalachian State as the Mids came home with a pair of 1-1 draws.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
AMANDA CASSERA, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Fr., F, Fairfield, N.J.
Cassera made a splash in her first collegiate game by tallying a hat trick to lead the Terriers to a 5-1 win in the season opener against Ohio on Saturday, which also marked the first game at BU's New Balance Field. Cassera had the first hat trick for a Patriot League player since Lafayette's Deanna DiCroce pulled it off against Lehigh on Oct. 27, 2012. She is the first freshman to earn the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week award since American's Shelly Montgomery in 2010.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
YSI SCHIEB, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Sr., D, Gold Coast, Australia
Schieb excelled on both ends of the field in Boston University's 5-1 win over Ohio, scoring a goal and an assist while leading a defensive unit that kept the Bobcats in check. Both points came in the second half after BU's lead had been trimmed to 3-1. The Terriers held the Bobcats to 10 shots in the game, with five coming in each half. Schieb earns her first Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week award.
GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
VALENTINA CERDA EIMBCKE, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Jr., GK, Santiago, Chile
Cerda Eimbcke had seven saves to lead the Terriers to a 5-1 win over Ohio in the first-ever game at New Balance Field. She made four saves in the first half as the Terriers built a 3-0 lead, and three more in the second after Ohio closed the gap with an early goal. Cerda Eimbcke earns her first Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week award.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
LAUREN SUTHERLAND, HOLY CROSS Fr., M, Watertown, Mass.
Sutherland tallied what turned out to be an important insurance goal when she put the Crusaders up 3-1 on their way to a 3-2 win over Siena on Sunday. The tally concluded a three-goal stretch for the Crusaders from the 14th minute to the 20th minute of the contest. Sutherland's goal came on her first-ever shot and helped Holy Cross notch its first season and home-opening win since 2007. She is the first Crusader to earn a Patriot League weekly award since MacKenzie Peet was named Rookie of the Week in 2011.

ELIANA BROWN, COLGATE Jr., F, Annandale, Va.
Brown had three goals in Colgate's first two games, including a pair in a 4-3 overtime loss to Bryant on Sunday.
ASHLEY DALISERA, AMERICAN Sr., GK, Millersville, Md.
Dalisera made 14 saves in two games for the Eagles, with 10 in a 2-1 overtime loss at No. 8 Old Dominion on Sunday.
MOLLY FEIT, HOLY CROSS Jr., F, Acton, Mass.
Feit tallied the eventual game-winning goal in Holy Cross' 3-2 win over Siena on Sunday.
HALEY MAKUCH, HOLY CROSS So., D, Granby, Conn.
Makuch scored Holy Cross' first goal in a 3-2 win over Siena on Sunday, and helped hold the Saints to one shot in the second half as the Crusaders preserved the lead.
SHELLY MONTGOMERY, AMERICAN Sr., M, Fairfax, Va.
Montgomery led the team in shots in a 2-1 overtime win at Richmond on Friday and scored the lone goal in a 2-1 overtime loss against No. 8 Old Dominion on Saturday.
Patriot League Volleyball Weekly Awards
MOLTEN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MONIKA SMIDOVA, AMERICAN Jr., S, Plzen, Czech Republic
Smidova was a key contributor for American in its three straight sweeps to open the 2013 campaign. She averaged 11.50 assists, 2.38 digs and 2.12 kills per set while accruing six block assists along the way. After opening with 22 assists in a 3-0 win over Howard, Smidova increased her total to 34 against Georgetown and 36 versus George Mason, both 3-0 victories. In each case her assist-per-set average also increased. She was named the D.C. Volleyball Challenge Tournament MVP for her efforts, which included a .382 hitting percentage with 17 kills and 19 total digs.
MOLTEN ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
KATHLEEN HARRIS, COLGATE Fr., OH, Playa del Rey, Calif.
Defending Patriot League champion Colgate is out to a 3-0 start, and Harris played a big part in the Raiders' run through the opening weekend. The rookie outside hitter hit .353 and averaged 3.8 kills and 2.2 digs per set, and notched her first collegiate double-double with 15 strikes and 12 digs in Saturday's four-set victory over Binghamton. She amassed double-digit kills against Central Connecticut (14), and finished the weekend with just eight attack errors in 85 chances. She earned All-Tournament Team honors at the Colgate Classic.

ERIKA EASTLEY, BUCKNELL Fr., MB, Torrance, Calif.
Hit .463 while averaging 2.92 kills and 1.83 blocks per set in helping the Bison go 2-1 in tournament action at La Salle. Netted 14 kills and 10 blocks against Sacramento State, and 12 strikes and eight blocks against the host Explorers.
DIANE SEELY, COLGATE Jr., MB, Menlo Park, Calif.
Hit .424 and averaged 3.33 kills per set in three Colgate wins over the weekend. Had 14 kills and just one error (.619) in a sweep of St. John's, and finished with 14 total blocks.
KARISSA CILIENTO, LAFAYETTE Sr., OH, Mahwah, N.J.
Averaged 3.9 kills and 2.3 digs per set while hitting .255 in Lafayette's 2-1 showing in three matches hosting by La Salle.
RACHEL CHARLES, LEHIGH Sr., L, Farmington Hills, Mich.
Averaged 4.55 digs per set and named Tournament MVP of the Lehigh Classic in the Mountain Hawks' 2-1 showing. Picked up 20 digs in Saturday's sweep of Rhode Island.
Patriot League Cross Country Weekly Awards
M-F ATHLETIC MALE RUNNER OF THE WEEK
RYAN MAHALSKY, LEHIGH Jr., Hillsborough, N.J.
Mahalsky placed first out of 184 runners at the Lehigh Invitational by completing the 6K course with a time of 18:46.75. The time gave Mahalsky his first collegiate win and was nine seconds faster than the second-place runner. Mahalsky led the Mountain Hawks to their fourth-straight Lehigh Invitational title, finishing ahead of a La Salle team that placed in front of Lehigh in the preseason Mid-Atlantic Regional poll. Mahalsky is named Patriot League M-F Athletic Male Runner of the Week for the first time in his career.

ANNIE-NORAH BEVERIDGE, NAVY Jr., Ann Arbor, Mich.
Beveridge picked up where she left off last season, as the Patriot League individual champion and participant in the NCAA Championship clocked a time of 18:21.85 to take first place in the Mount St. Mary's 5K Duals on Friday. She also led Navy to the team title in a field that included Delaware and Maryland. Beveridge has placed first for Navy in seven consecutive meets dating back to Sept. 12, 2012 at the Salty Dog Invitational. She is named Patriot League M-F Athletic Female Runner of the Week for the sixth time, matching American's Keira Carlstrom (2002-05) for the most in League history.

HALE BULLEN, NAVY Fr., Annapolis, Md.
Bullen opened his collegiate career in impressive fashion by taking second place at the Sea Gull Opener with a time of 25:48.62 on the 8K course. He finished behind teammate Justin Maguire to help Navy take the team title.

MARY CATE SCULLY, NAVY Fr., Fairfax Station, Va.
Scully helped Navy to the team title at the Mount St. Mary's 5K Duals by coming in ninth place with a time of 19:00.08. Scully was the fourth finisher for the Mids as she placed in the top 10 in her first collegiate meet.

Willey won the Lehigh Invitational with a time of 22:45.67 on the 6K course.
NICK REGAN, AMERICAN Jr., Kensington, Md.
Regan won the Mount St. Mary's 5K Duals with a time of 15:30.79 for his first individual title while lifting the Eagles to the team crown.
JUSTIN MAGUIRE, NAVY So., Brewster, N.Y.
Maguire placed first in the Sea Gull Opener with a time of 25:47.70 on the 8K course, which also helped the Mids earn the team title.
ROSIE ROESSEL, LEHIGH Sr., Fairport, N.Y.
Roessel helped Lehigh win its home invitational for the second time in three years by placing fourth with a time of 22:54.23 on the 6K course. It was the first-ever 6K race for Roessel, who is using a fifth year of eligibility to run cross country after four seasons for the Lehigh softball team.
