CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The final weekend of the regular season is here in women's soccer and field hockey, and Patriot League Network has big contests on tap in each sport along with football, men's soccer and volleyball.
The women's soccer contests can all have an impact on next week's Patriot League Tournament, with Lehigh and Loyola Maryland battling for the final spot in the field while Colgate, Boston University and Navy are still in play for the top seed and right to host the semifinals and championship. Army and Bucknell are also in the field and vying for seeding. The women's soccer weekend on PLN begins with Army at Navy at 7 p.m. on Friday, while Saturday's action features Boston University at Bucknell at Noon, Colgate at American at 1 p.m., Lehigh at Holy Cross at 5 p.m. and Loyola Maryland at Lafayette at 7 p.m.
The outlook for the Patriot League Field Hockey Tournament is clearer, with Bucknell hosting Boston University, American and Colgate in the event at Graham Field next weekend. But seeds are still at stake as Colgate visits Boston University at Noon and American goes to Holy Cross at 11 a.m. in PLN contests on Saturday.
Saturday's football action on PLN features two games involving the three unbeaten teams in League play. Campus Insiders will have an exclusive broadcast of a matchup of undefeated squads when Colgate visits No. 10 Fordham at 1 p.m., while Lafayette is at unbeaten Bucknell at the same time.
Four men's soccer contests will be shown on Saturday as the regular season hits the penultimate weekend, with Boston University having a chance to earn the top seed in the League Tournament when it hosts American at 1 p.m.
Volleyball will have the most contests on PLN this weekend with eight games, four each on both Friday and Saturday.
In addition to the Patriot League sports, the weekend schedule features home hockey games for Colgate and Holy Cross, Army at Navy in sprint football and men's water polo contests for Navy and Fordham.
There are 33 games scheduled for the next week on PLN, with 27 on either Friday or Saturday.
