CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Championship season is underway, with both the Field Hockey and Women's Soccer Tournaments available on Patriot League Network this weekend.
The Patriot League Field Hockey Tournament will be held at Bucknell's Graham Field, with fourth-seed Colgate playing the host and top-seed Bison in the first semifinal on Friday at 11 a.m. followed by third-seed American taking on second-seed Boston University in a rematch of last year's championship at 2 p.m. The 2014 Patriot League Field Hockey Championship will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Patriot League Women's Soccer Tournament gets underway later on Friday at Colgate's Beyer-Small '76 Field as the host and top-seed Raiders welcomes fourth-seed Bucknell in the first semifinal at 5 p.m. and it's a rematch of the 2013 championship in the second semifinal when third-seed Navy takes on second-seed and defending champion Boston University at 8 p.m. The winners face off for the Patriot League Women's Soccer Championship on Sunday at 1 p.m.
PLN also features the final regular-season weekend in men's soccer as well as the penultimate weekend of the regular season in volleyball. Men's soccer action begins on Friday when Army faces Navy at 7 p.m. from PPL Park in Chester, Pa. in a game that is also being broadcast by American Sports Network. The other four men's soccer contests will be shown on Saturday with American, Lehigh, Bucknell and Army jockeying for seeding in the quarterfinal round. Five volleyball contests will be shown, with three on Friday and a pair on Saturday.
Two football games will be shown on PLN on Saturday as Lehigh visits Holy Cross at 12:30 p.m. and Lafayette goes to Colgate at 1 p.m. in an exclusive broadcast by Campus Insiders featuring Matt Martucci and Ryan Vena on the call. The undefeated matchup featuring No. 9 Fordham and Bucknell will be available on CBS Sports Network on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
