Patriot League Weekly Awards - 9.22.14 
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- The Patriot League announced its weekly awards for Sept. 15-21 in men and women's soccer, field hockey, volleyball and men and women's cross country on Monday.

CORVIAS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ETHAN KUTLER, COLGATE So., F/M, Lansing, N.Y.
Kutler moved up to second nationally with nine goals on the season by netting a total of five in wins over FDU and Siena. The sophomore was credited with the game-winners in each victory and was awarded the Offensive MVP trophy in the CU Inaria Classic for his performance. Kutler scored all three goals in the Raiders 3-1 win over Siena on Sunday and the natural hat trick was accomplished in a 17-minute span in the second half after the Saints had jumped out to a 1-0 lead.
CORVIAS DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
RYAN TUCK, LOYOLA MARYLAND So., D, Stokesley, England
Tuck helped the Greyhounds defense hold No. 21 UMBC without a shot in the two overtime periods, securing a 1-1 tie with the nationally ranked foe on Saturday. The sophomore scored the game's first goal against the Retrievers, heading in a free kick from Laurin Vogel in the 51st minute. In an overtime win against La Salle on Wednesday, Tuck anchored a back line that only gave up only one second-half shot in a 1-0 overtime victory.

SANDY LEAVY, LAFAYETTE Sr., GK, Congers, N.Y.
Leavy was rock solid in goal this past week, not allowing a goal in a draw and a win for the Leopards on the road. The senior made four saves in a 0-0 draw at ACC-foe Pittsburgh on Wednesday and followed that up with seven saves in a 1-0 victory at Binghamton on Saturday. Leavy currently sits second in the Patriot League in both saves (27) and saves per game (3.86).
CORVIAS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
JUSTIN CARFORA, HOLY CROSS Fr.,M, Plainview, N.Y.
Carfora scored two goals and added an assist to help Holy Cross to their first two wins of the season. The freshman scored one goal and then assisted on the game-winner as the Crusaders edged Quinnipiac 2-1 on Wednesday. Three days later, Carfora netted his first career game winning goal in Holy Cross' 4-1 victory at Sacred Heart.

DOMINIQUE BADJI, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Sr., F, Dakar, Senegal
Badji had a hand in all four goals scored by the Terriers in a 1-0-1 week with a goal and assist in 2-1 win over Northeastern and both goals in a 2-2 tie against Princeton.
DOYLE TUVESSON, LEHIGH Fr., F, Kennett Square, Pa.
Tuvesson scored the golden goal just 31 seconds into overtime in the Mountain Hawks 1-0 against Stetson.
CONOR OSBORNE, AMERICAN Sr., D, Wayne, Pa.
Osborne assisted on the equalizer in regulation against Penn and then helped the defense hold the Quakers without a shot down the stretch of the Eagles 2-1 overtime victory.
CIARAN NUGENT, LEHIGH Sr., GK, Dedham, Mass.
Nugent recorded his third shutout of the season stopping five shots in the Mountain Hawks overtime win over Stetson.
DAVID AMIRANI, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Fr., M, Brooklyn, N.Y.
Amirani scored the game-winning goal in Terriers 2-1 win over Northeastern and added an assist in 2-2 tie against Princeton.
JARED STROUD, COLGATE Fr., M, Chester, N.J.
Stroud registered the first points of his career with three assists in wins over FDU and Siena.

JENNA FISHER, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Jr., F, Longmeadow, Mass.
Fisher helped the Terriers end a three-game winless skid and open Patriot League play with a victory by scoring the game-winner midway through the second half of a 1-0 win over visiting Navy. After 60 scoreless minutes, the junior forward was able to head home the pass from Lauren MacLellan for her third goal and second game-winner of the season.

ALLY PASQUARIELLO, HOLY CROSS Sr., D, Suffield, Conn.
Pasquariello played all 200 minutes on the Crusaders defense that did not allow a goal in a 1-0-1 week. The senior recorded her first assist of the season in a 2-0 victory at UMass-Lowell and then led a backline that allowed only five shots (two on goal) and zero corner kicks in 0-0 draw in the Patriot League opener with Loyola Maryland.

COLLEEN FOLAN, LOYOLA MARYLAND Sr., GK, Downingtown, Pa.
Folan became the first keeper to hold high-scoring Holy Cross without a goal as she turned away seven shots to help the Greyhounds earn a 0-0 draw against the unbeaten Crusaders. The senior earned her fifth shutout of the year and third consecutive clean sheet while facing an attack that had an 18-5 advantage on shots and 7-0 on corner kicks.

ELIZA DOLL, COLGATE Fr., M/F, Bethesda, Md.
Doll broke a scoreless tie at Lafayette with her second goal of the season in the 59th minute of their Patriot League opener. After receiving a pass from Lexi Panepinto near the 18-yard box, the freshman navigated past the Leopards defender and ripped a shot into the corner for her second game winner in as many outings.

McCabe registered her Patriot League-best sixth and seventh shutouts this season in the Crusaders 2-0 win over UMass-Lowell and 0-0 draw against Loyola.
ALY SPENCER, HOLY CROSS Fr., F, Tewksbury, Mass.
Spencer remained tied for the most goals among NCAA Division I freshman with her seventh, a game-winner in a 2-0 win over UMass-Lowell.
KATIE CENTENO, LEHIGH, Jr., M, Coronado, Calif.
Centeno scored her second career goal, the game-winner in the Mountain Hawks 1-0 win over American in the Patriot League opener.
PAIGE ELLIOTT, LEHIGH, Jr., D, Appison, Tenn.
Elliott was a dominant defensive force as the Mountain Hawks won their Patriot League opener for the first time since 2006.
ANI NAHAPETIAN, LEHIGH Jr., GK, Pleasanton, Calif.
Nahapetian posted her fifth career shutout and second this season with five saves in a 1-0 win over American.
ALYSSA PARISI, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Sr., GK, Camaillo, Calif.
Parisi earned her second career shutout and first of the season in the Terriers 1-0 win over Navy to start the Patriot League season.

ELIANA BROWN, COLGATE Sr., F, Annandale, Va.
Brown scored three goals in two games last week, including a pair in a 3-0 win for the Raiders in their League opener against Holy Cross on Saturday. She gave the Raiders the only goal they would need in the third minute, and put the final score on the board in the 62nd minute. Brown also scored in the first half of Colgate's 6-3 loss to No. 11 Boston College as the Raiders and Eagles were tied 3-3 at intermission. Brown earns her second career Corvias Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week award.

GRACE WILSON, AMERICAN Sr., D, Ann Arbor, Mich.
Wilson scored a pair of goals and keyed the defensive effort in American's 4-0 victory over Lehigh in a Patriot League opener on Saturday. The two goals were a career high for Wilson, and the Eagles limited the Mountain Hawks to just one shot on goal and posted their fifth shutout of the season, tied for the most in Division I to date. Wilson earns the Corvias Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week award for the second time this season and eighth in her career.

AMANDA DiDOMIZIO, COLGATE Sr., GK, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.
DiDomizio had a busy weekend with 23 saves in a pair of games for the Raiders, including nine in a shutout of Holy Cross on Saturday. DiDomizio posted her first shutout of the season against the Crusaders to lead Colgate to a win despite being outshot in the game. She helped the Raiders stay close against No. 11 Boston College with 14 saves in a 6-3 loss on Sunday. DiDomizio made five saves in the first half as the game was deadlocked 3-3 at the half, and nine after intermission as Colgate remained within one goal with less than 15 minutes to play. DiDomizio is up to 461 career saves, and becomes the first goalkeeper since 2006 to crack the Patriot League career top 10 list. She is named Corvias Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week for the fifth time in her career.

KALI SHUMOCK, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Fr., M/F, Bethlehem, Pa.
Shumock had a hand in both goals as Boston University opened Patriot League play with a 2-1 win at Lafayette on Saturday. Shumock gave the Terriers a 1-0 lead with her goal in the 31st minute, and assisted on Amanda Cassera's game-winner which broke a 1-1 tie in the 50th minute. The points were the first of Shumock's career in a homecoming for the Lehigh Valley native.

Cassera had a goal in each of Boston University's wins over the weekend, including the game-winner in the 50th minute of a 2-1 triumph at Lafayette on Saturday.
CARLY ATCHISON, AMERICAN Sr., M, Virginia Beach, Va.
Atchison had a goal and two assists in a pair of games for the Eagles over the weekend.
VALENTIA CERDA EIMBCKE, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Sr., GK, Santiago, Chile
Cerda Eimbcke made three saves in a 2-1 win over Lafayette on Saturday and six in a 3-2 overtime triumph against Yale on Sunday.
GABBY TOFIG, LEHIGH So., F, Newtown, Pa.
Tofig gave Lehigh a 2-1 lead early in the second half of a 4-2 win over Georgetown on Sunday.

MONIKA SMIDOVA, AMERICAN, Sr., S, Plzen, Czech Republic
Smidova earned her second tournament MVP recognition of the season in leading the Eagles to a 3-0 record in the Rutgers Invitational. The senior recorded a season-high 49 assists in a win over Princeton and matched a season/career-high 16 digs in a win over Rutgers. Smidova has posted eight double-doubles (in 12 matches) this season.
MOLTEN ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
ELENA SIMPSON, COLGATE, Fr., L, London, Ontario
Simpson recorded a season-high 24 of her 54 digs in the Otto Invitational against Albany in one of the Raiders three wins as they captured the tournament title. The freshman also had seven service aces, including a pair against Syracuse as Colgate rallied for its first win against the Orange since 1995.

MORGAN LOWE, LEHIGH, So., OH, Lancaster, Pa.
Averaged a double-double (11.67 kills and 10.33 digs per match) as the Mountain Hawks started 3-0 in Patriot League play for the first time since 2002.
KENZIE HUME, COLGATE, Sr., MB, Austin, Texas
Hume was named Tournament MVP of the Otto Invitational after averaging 2.54 kps, a .424 hitting percentage and nine blocks in wins over Cornell, Syracuse and Albany.
MINDY MALONEY, LOYOLA MARYLAND, Sr., MB, Homer Glen, Ill.
Maloney was named to the All-Tournament team at the Red Flash Classic while hitting .346 in the Greyhounds three matches.
AMBER CLAY, ARMY, Fr., OH, St. John, Ind.
Clay posted double-digit kills in both matches, including a career-best 14 against Lehigh.
KRISTEN PARKS, BUCKNELL, So., DS/L, Manhattan Beach, Calif.
Parks tallied a career-high 38 digs in a 3-1 win over Holy Cross.

M-F ATHLETIC MALE RUNNER OF THE WEEK
STEPHEN SCHROEDER, NAVY Jr., Monticello, Ill.
Schroeder finished in first place at Navy's dual meet with Gonzaga by running the 8K course in a time of 25:04.25. He helped the Mids to a 23-36 victory on the road against a team ranked 13th in the USTFCCCA West Region poll. Schroeder earned the fifth first-place finish of his career, and has placed in the top two in all three of his races this season. Schroeder is named M-F Athletic Patriot League Male Runner of the Week for the second time this year and fourth in his career.

HANNAH JETER, HOLY CROSS Fr., Eden Prairie, Minn.
Jeter came in ninth place at the National Catholic Championship with a time of 18:06.24 in the 5K race. She helped lead the Crusaders to their best-ever finish in the event with fourth place in the 11-team field, and her time was the best mark in Holy Cross history for a freshman in a 5K. Jeter opens her career with three straight top-10 finishes, leading the way for the Crusaders in each race.

KYLE ADAMS, BUCKNELL Fr., Boalsburg, Pa.
Adams placed 34th out of 233 runners with a time of 27:12.08 in the 8K portion of the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational. He helped the Bison to a third-place finish in a field of 36 teams.

CHRISTINE BENDZINSKI, BUCKNELL Fr., Hebron, Conn.
Bendzinski was the runner-up out of 265 racers with a time of 23:04.45 in the 6K portion of the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational. She helped lead the Bison to the overall title in the 40-team field, and the Bucknell women have won both of the scored invitationals they have competed in this season.

Muldoon placed ninth at the National Catholic Championship with a time of 25:19.09 on the 5-mile course.
