Patriot League Weekly Awards - 9.8.14 
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- The Patriot League announced its weekly awards for Sept. 1-7 in men and women's soccer, field hockey, volleyball and men and women's cross country.

CORVIAS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DALE LUDWIG, AMERICAN So., F, Palmyre, Va.
Ludwig was named the Offensive MVP of the Lobo Invitational for leading the attack in American's wins over top-ranked UCLA and UC-Riverside. The sophomore scored one of the biggest goals in the history of AU soccer, netting the game-winner in overtime to down No. 1 UCLA. Deep in Bruins territory, senior co-captain Jordan Manley threw one in from the sideline to an open Ludwig who blasted it through the UCLA keeper for the golden goal in the 96th minute.

JAKE WEINREB, AMERICAN Sr., D, East Brunswick, N.J.
Weinreb was named the Tournament MVP of the Lobo Invitational and was one of five Eagles named to the All-Tournament team. The senior defender led a spectacular defensive effort for AU against top level competition this weekend, allowing only one goal and five total shots on goal in wins over No. 1 ranked UCLA and UC-Riverside. The defense also turned away six corners against the Bruins and another eight vs. the Highlanders.

WINSTON BOLDT, ARMY Sr., GK, St. Louis, Mo.
Boldt recorded a pair of shutouts in Army's 1-0-1 week as he made two saves to help Army collect a 1-0 win over Saint Joseph's before making a career-high nine stops against an Air Force team receiving votes in the NSCAA national poll. Three of his nine saves in the tie with the Falcons came in the second overtime period.

MARIO DA SILVA, ARMY Fr., F, Parkland, Fla.
Da Silva scored his first collegiate goal in the Black Knights' 1-0 victory over Saint Joseph's, providing the game winner in the 58th minute. The freshman forward earned his first career start in Sunday's game against Air Force and was on the field for 82 of the game's 110 minutes.

JESSE KLUG, BUCKNELL Jr., F, Sammamish, Wash.
Klug was the catalyst for Bucknell's 2-1 road trip last week, as he scored the opening goal in 2-0 victories over Saint Francis (Pa.) and Buffalo.
ZACK ROCKMORE, BUCKNELL Jr., D, Albany, N.Y.
Rockmore was rock-solid at center back, anchoring a Bison defense that allowed only one goal and yielded only eight shots on frame in the three games.
AUSTIN DECKER, LEHIGH, Jr., F, Iowa City, Iowa
Scored his first goal of the season for the Mountain Hawks on a header in the 56th minute in Lehigh's 2-0 win at Monmouth.
THOMAS SHIIBA, NAVY Jr., F, Swarthmore, Pa.
Shiiba scored a career-high three points in Navy's 5-0 win over Appalachian State. Shiiba netted the game-winner in the 21st minute off of a great individual effort and had as assist on the Mids' second goal.
JOSEPH GREENSPAN, NAVY Sr., D, Westfield, N.J.
Greenspan anchored the back line and helped limit Appalachian State to just four shots and one on goal during the Mids 5-0 victory.
DYLAN HOBERT, AMERICAN Jr., GK, Carrollton, Ga.
Hobert was superb in net against two top programs. Allowed on one goal in 96+ minutes to No. 1 UCLA and earned his second shutout of the season in win over UC Riverside.

KATIE HOLDER, ARMY Jr., M, Stillwater, Minn.
Holder scored goals in a pair of come-from-behind victories over the weekend as the Black Knights leveled their season mark at 3-3-0. The Stillwater, Minn. native netted the equalizer in the 48th minute of a 2-1 win over Delaware and tallied the go ahead goal two days later in the 65th minute of a 2-1 win against Columbia. The game-winning goal was Holder's first of the season and fourth of her career.

JULIE SCHUMACHER, NAVY Sr., D, Plantation, Fla.
In a 1-0 win over 24th ranked James Madison, Schumacher defended Sam Lofton, the Dukes top offensive player, and limited her to two shots and only one on net. Overall, Schumacher guided the Mids back line to an effort that permitted only 13 shots (three on goal) against a James Madison squad that entered the contest with a 3-0 record and averaging two goals per game.

JORDAN CASSALIA, ARMY So., GK, Omaha, Neb.
Cassalia kept Army in the game and allowed them to rally for a pair of 2-1 victories over the weekend despite facing persistent pressure as the opponents ripped off 45 shots (18 by Columbia and 27 by Delaware). The Omaha, Neb. native made seven of 10 saves in the second half vs. Columbia and eight of 15 against Delaware. Cassalia made several spectacular saves to preserve the win over the Blue Hens.

CLARE MACADAM, NAVY Fr., F, Palmyra, N.J.
MacAdam tallied her first game-winning goal when she scored midway through the first half of Navy's 1-0 win over No. 24 James Madison. The freshman forward controlled a cross from Caprice Kelty that glanced off a Dukes defender and volleyed her shot from 15 yards out into the top corner of the net for the score. The Mids are now 2-0 when the freshman from Palmyra, N.J. scores a goal.

DAYTON WETHERBY, NAVY So., GK, Wesley Chapel, Fla.
Wetherby recorded her first career shutout in Navy's win over No. 24 James Madison. The sophomore keeper has not allowed a goal in 138:00 minutes.
CAROLINE BRAWNER, COLGATE Sr., M, Edmonds, Wash.
Brawner scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in the Raiders 3-1 win over Vermont and also recorded an assist in a 2-0 win over UMass-Lowell.
ALY SPENCER, HOLY CROSS Fr., F, Tewksbury, Mass.
Spencer scored two goals, including the game-winner with 12 seconds remaining in double overtime, to lead the Crusaders to a 2-1 win over Bryant.
JORDAN GOODWIN, LEHIGH Sr., D, Flemington, N.J.
Goodwin was the backbone of the Lehigh defense which allowed just 15 shots (11 in regulation) in a 1-1 tie with a strong Villanova squad out of the Big East.
ALLY PASQUARIELLO, HOLY CROSS Sr., D, Suffield, Conn.
Pasquariello played all 290 minutes of three victories last week and was part of a Crusaders back line that allowed one goal and eight shots on net.
CARLY MCCABE, HOLY CROSS Sr., GK, Barrington, R.I.
McCabe continued her success this season with three wins in goal last week and posted back-to-back shutout wins versus Maine and Albany.

LIZ WILLS, BUCKNELL Sr., D, Plymouth Meeting, Pa.
Wills has scored a goal in each of Bucknell's three games this season, none bigger than her lone tally in a 1-0 win at Penn on Sunday. The unassisted goal came just over nine minutes into the contest on Wills' only shot of the game. She also helped the Bison hold a Penn team coming off a nine-goal outing to just one shot on goal in the entire game. Wills earns her first Corvias Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week award after earning the honor on defense last season.

GRACE WILSON, AMERICAN Sr., D, Ann Arbor, Mich.
Wilson came through with the game-winning goal in double overtime to send the No. 19 Eagles to a 1-0 victory over No. 16 Michigan State on Sunday. Wilson also led the Eagles' defense to the shutout effort against the Spartans after they had also shut out Saint Joseph's 3-0 on Friday, with Wilson adding an assist in that contest. The Eagles have won three consecutive games by shutout, including two over ranked opponents. Wilson earns her seventh Corvias Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week award after claiming the honor six times last season.

KATE McBEATH, AMERICAN Jr., GK, Barhamsville, Va.
McBeath was in the cage for a pair of shutouts for the Eagles over the weekend, including a five-save effort to lead the way in a 1-0 double-overtime win against No. 16 Michigan State on Sunday. McBeath notched three saves in a 3-0 shutout of Saint Joseph's on Friday, and has stopped all 14 shots she has faced in the past three games to lead the Eagles to three straight shutout wins.

MAUREEN CONNOLLY, HOLY CROSS Fr., F, New Canaan, Conn.
Connolly scored her first collegiate goal to help Holy Cross to a 3-2 win over UMass-Lowell on Friday. She tallied in the 22nd minute to give the Crusaders a 2-1 lead after UMass-Lowell had evened the score just over a minute earlier.

Magadan tallied two goals and an assist in a 3-1 victory over Monmouth on Friday.
AMANDA CASSERA, BOSTON UNIVERSITY So., F, Fairfield, N.J.
Cassera had the lone tally in BU's 1-0 win over Pacific on Sunday.
SHANNON KEEN, BUCKNELL Jr., GK, Hatfield, Pa.
Keen stopped the only shot she faced in a 1-0 shutout of Penn on Sunday.
Molten Patriot League Volleyball Weekly Awards
MOLTEN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SARAH KATZ, AMERICAN Jr., OH, Louisville, Ky.
Katz was American's top performer in a pair of tough losses to top-level competition this past weekend. The junior distinguished herself with her play against eighth-ranked Florida State as the Eagles pushed the visitors to a five-set match. Katz recorded a .447 hitting percentage last week and recorded a career-high 16 kills against the Seminoles, reaching double digits in kills for the first time, while not committing a single attack error.
MOLTEN ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
KELLY BENNETT, LEHIGH, Fr., MB, Plano, Texas
Bennett helped Lehigh defeat Patriot Invitational Tournament host George Mason 3-0 with five blocks, including three solo, in the opening match of the four-game event. The freshman finished the weekend with 12 total blocks (five solo) and just one error for a strong hitting percentage of .303.

Seely was named to the Named to All-Tournament Team at the Crowne Plaza Philadelphia West Invitational after averaging 2.11 kills per set and 13 total blocks for the Raiders.
MOLLY CICHOSZ, LOYOLA MARYLAND Fr., OH, Auburn, Wash.
Cichosz logged 25 kills in a win over Quinnipiac University in the first match of the Greyhound Challenge to become the first Loyola freshman to log 20 or more kills in back-to-back matches.
AMY MATULA, LEHIGH, Jr., S, Memphis, Tenn.
Matula was named to the Patriot Invitational All-Tournament team after leading Lehigh with 119 assists (9.15/set average) - including 31 assists in Lehigh's straight-set win over host George Mason.
NICOLA PERRI, ARMY, Jr., OH, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.
Perri was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Mizuno Invitational after leading Army with 54 kills on the week. Posted season highs in kills (20) and digs (13) in the Black Knights' five-set win over Campbell.
CAROLYN BOCKRATH, ARMY, Fr., MB, Newport Beach, Calif.
Bockrath was second on the team with 37 kills this past week and led the Black Knights with a .302 hitting percentage.

M-F ATHLETIC MALE RUNNER OF THE WEEK
STEVE SCHROEDER, NAVY Jr., Monticello, Ill.
Schroeder placed first at the Fordham Fiasco as he crossed the five-mile course in 26:17.25, and led Navy to the title in the eight-team field. He won the individual title and led Navy to the victory at the race for the second year in a row, and won his fourth career title overall. Schroeder is named M-F Athletic Patriot League Male Runner of the Week for the third time in his career.

MICHELLE SUMNER, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Jr., Annandale, N.J.
Sumner took second place at the 5K Nassaney Invitational in a time of 18:04.2, and led the Terriers to the title in the seven-team field. Sumner was one of three Terriers to finish in the top 10.

WILL BORDASH, BUCKNELL Fr., Ridgefield, Conn.
Bordash was part of a dominant performance for the Bucknell men at the Running Fit-Detroit Titan Invitational as he finished in ninth place with a time of 20:51.72 on the four-mile course. He was third among Bucknell runners as the Bison took the title in the 12-team field.

BRENNAN SHARKEY, BUCKNELL Fr., Hackettstown, N.J.
Sharkey opens her career with a second straight M-F Athletic Patriot League Female Rookie of the Week award after coming in sixth place at the Running Fit-Detroit Titan Invitational with a time of 18:47.83 on the 5K course. She was fifth among Bucknell runners as the Bison cruised to the title in the 11-team field.

Regan placed sixth at the Bill Dellinger Invitational at the University of Oregon with a time of 24:36 on the 8K course.

Dugan placed second at the Running Fit-Detroit Titan Invitational with a time of 20:24.21 on the four-mile course, helping Bucknell to the team crown.

Jessee won the individual title at the Running Fit-Detroit Titan Invitational by crossing the finish line in 18:18.39 on the 5K course, and led the Bison to a commanding team victory.

Gennaro placed third at the Nassaney Invitational with a time of 15:41.5 on the 5K course, and helped the Terriers to a second-place finish.
