Patriot League Weekly Awards - 1.26.15

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- The Patriot League announced its weekly awards for Jan. 19-Jan. 25 in men and women's swimming and diving as well as men and women's indoor track and field.

CORVIAS MALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
TOM DUVALL, NAVY Jr., Durham, N.H.
Duvall posted two wins and was runner-up in a third individual event in Navy's dual meet Saturday at Penn State. The junior won the 200 back by .20 seconds in 1:39.04 and the 500 free in 1.07 seconds in 4:28.95. Duvall also was second in the 100 free with a time of 45.98 and contributed a 21.14 leadoff leg in the Mids second place finish in the 200 free relay.

EMMA LEVENDOSKI, BUCKNELL Jr., Mandeville, La.
Levendoski contributed a team-high three first-place finishes over the weekend as the Bison swept Lehigh and Wagner. Against the Mountain Hawks, the junior won the 100 (56.08) and 200 (2:01.40) back by a combined 8.81 seconds. Levendoski also won the 200 back against the Seahawks and was a member of one winning relay event in each dual.

CORVIAS MALE DIVER OF THE WEEK
TYLER WENZEL, BUCKNELL Jr., Telford, Pa.
Wenzel swept the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events for the first time this season to give him five first place finishes on the season as the Bison defeated Patriot League rival Lehigh on Saturday. The junior was also the top Bucknell finisher on the 1m in a dual with Columbia with a score of 268.60. Wenzel has scored above 270 off the 3m in six of his last seven meets.

CORVIAS FEMALE DIVER OF THE WEEK
TARA BOYLE, BUCKNELL Sr., Winnetka, Ill. Boyle swept the 1m and 3m boards for the second time this season and now has seven first place finishes in the last two months. The senior set a new season-high with 265.50 on the 3m against Wagner and also captured the 1m with a 247.15 which was .55 shy of her season-high. Boyle split the two diving events against Lehigh, winning the 1m with a 240.60.

Honorable mention

KELLY HAMILTON, ARMY So., Chambersburg, Pa.
Hamilton had a hand in two individual wins and two relay wins as the Black Knights swept American, Boston U. and George Mason.

EVIN RUDE, ARMY Fr., Fairfax Station, Va.
Rude won the 200 free by two seconds and the 500 free by nearly five seconds as Army swept American, Boston U. and George Mason.

NATE BELCH, NAVY Fr., Tucson, Ariz.
Belch set a season-high of 309.00 in the one-meter diving event at Penn State.

HANNAH COLLINS, NAVY Fr., Bellbrook, Ohio
Collins set a season-high score of 253.28 on the one-meter board against 17th-ranked Penn State.

CHARLOTTE MEYER, NAVY So., Bethesda, Md.
Meyer recorded the Mids only victory in a meet against 17th-ranked Penn State, winning the 200 IM in 2:05.14.

M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE MALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
CHRISTIAN LUPICA, BUCKNELL Sr., Newtown, Pa.
Lupica won the 60-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash at Bucknell's Gulden Invitational on Saturday, setting IC4A standards in the process. He ran the 60-meter hurdles in 8.00 after posting a 7.98 in the prelims, and finished the 200m in a time of 22.00. Lupica also ran the anchor leg on Bucknell's winning 4 x 400m relay team that posted an IC4A qualifying time as he helped the Bison coast to the team title at home. Lupica was named the running event MVP at the Gulden Invitational for the third consecutive season.

M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE FEMALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
KIM NAGOTKO, BUCKNELL Sr., Mahwah, N.J.
Nagotko continued her strong season by winning both the 200-meter and 400-meter races at Bucknell's Gulden Invitational on Saturday. She topped a field of 31 runners in the 200m with a time of 25.20, and led a field of 14 competitors in the 400m with a winning time of 57.11. Both times hit the ECAC qualifying standard, and Nagotko was named the running event MVP while leading Bucknell to the team title. Nagotko was named M-F Athletic Patriot League Female Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this year.

M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE MALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
LUCAS WARNING, LEHIGH So., Mertztown, Pa.
Warning won the shot put against rival Lafayette on Saturday while easily besting the IC4A standard with a mark of 16.24 meters. His performance helped Lehigh to a 120-61 win over the Leopards in a dual meet. Warning earns a third straight M-F Athletic Patriot League Male Field Athlete of the Week award for Lehigh after Adeolu Adesida won each of the past two weeks.

M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE FEMALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
BRITTANY POWELL, LAFAYETTE Sr., Wilmington, Del.
Powell had a huge effort against Lehigh on Saturday as she won the long jump, triple jump and 60-meter dash against the Mountain Hawks. She set a school record as well as an ECAC qualifying standard with a long jump of 5.92 meters, which is the best in the Patriot League this season. Powell won the triple jump at 11.43 meters and the 60m in 7.95 seconds.

M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE MALE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
NICHOLAS LOMBARDO, BUCKNELL Fr., Darien, Conn.
Lombardo tied for first place in the high jump at the Gulden Invitational with mark of 2.00 meters, just short of the IC4A standard. He hit the mark on his first attempt, and helped Bucknell win the title in the seven-team field.

M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
BRIYAH BROWN, ARMY Fr., New Rochelle, N.Y.
Brown has now received recognition from the Patriot League in each of her first four weeks of competition after setting ECAC qualifying marks in both the shot put and weight throw at the Cornell Upstate Challenge. She won the shot put with a throw of 13.58 meters and placed second in the weight throw with a toss of 16.89 meters. Brown has yet to finish out of the top five in any event in her freshman campaign. She now has three consecutive M-F Athletic Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors to go with two Field Athlete of the Week awards this season.

JACK FELLOWS, BUCKNELL Sr., Cumberland Center, Maine
Fellows finished second in both the shot put and weight throw at the Gulden Invitational, and hit an IC4A standard in the latter event with a toss of 17.42 meters.

JARREL BOBB, LAFAYETTE Jr., Bushkill, Pa.
Bobb won the long jump against Lehigh with an IC4A qualifying mark of 7.03 meters.

CLYDE WILSON, ARMY Sr., Corpus Christi, Texas
Wilson won the 500-meter race at the Cornell Upstate Challenge with an IC4A qualifying time of 1:03.96, and led Army to a second-place finish with an IC4A time of 3:18.47 in the 4 X 400m relay.

BRIANNA TABIN, HOLY CROSS Sr., South Hadley, Mass.
Tabin placed fifth in the 60-meter dash at the Joe Donahue Games with an ECAC qualifying time of 7.62 seconds.

ROSA MORIELLO, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Sr., Naugatuck, Conn.
Moriello won the 3,000-meter race at BU's Four-Team Meet in an ECAC qualifying time of 9:48.18.

COURTNEY AVERY, LEHIGH So., Wynantskill, N.Y.
Avery hit the ECAC qualifying standard once again with a high jump of 1.70 meters to finish in first place as Lehigh beat rival Lafayette 96-85 on Saturday.
