Patriot League Announces Weekly Awards

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Patriot League announced its weekly awards for Sept. 28-Oct. 4 in men and women's soccer, field hockey, volleyball, men and women's cross country and men and women's swimming and diving on Monday.

Corvias Patriot League Men's Soccer Weekly Awards

CORVIAS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CHRIS THORSHEIM, BUCKNELL Sr., M, Manalapan, N.J.
Thorsheim scored the opening goal in each of the Bison's contests as he helped the team to a pair of ties against Fairleigh Dickinson and Holy Cross. Against FDU on Wednesday, the senior midfielder scored on a free kick just after halftime at 46:06 to give Bucknell the advantage. He once again gave the Bison the advantage in the second contest of the weekend, scoring on a penalty kick at 46:43 against the Crusaders on Saturday, after a perfectly placed through ball to teammate Dan Bank resulted in a foul in the box.

CORVIAS DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
RICHIE ROBINSON, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Sr., M/B, Elmont, N.Y.
Robinson helped the Terriers to a pair of shutout wins over two top-100 RPI programs this week, playing all 180 minutes against UMass-Lowell and American. The senior served as a holding midfielder while helping the backline defend against 37 shot attempts and 10 corner kicks.

CORVIAS GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
MATT GILBERT, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Jr., GK, Madison, N.J.
After posting three saves and a shutout victory over UMass-Lowell on Wednesday, Gilbert recorded a season-high eight saves against American for his second clean sheet of the week on Saturday. Battling not only the Eagles but the rain and wind in Saturday's League contest, the junior made a number of impressive saves, including a leaping stop in the 79th minute and catching a 25-yard free kick in the 85th minute, for his first road shutout. The Terriers became the first opponent to shut out the Eagles this season and the first Patriot League team since 2013 to earn a shutout win at American.

CORVIAS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MARK FORREST, LEHIGH Fr., F, Douglasville, Pa.
Forrest was responsible for all of Lehigh's scoring in the Mountain Hawks' Tuesday night contest with Fordham, notching a trio of goals in the 3-0 victory over the Rams. The freshman scored in the 12th, 65th, and 83rd minutes and now has a total of four goals on the season. Forrest's hat trick marks the first for a Lehigh player since Oct. 6, 2007, when Kyle Evans scored all the goals in a 3-0 home victory over Navy. The rookie also played a key role in keeping pressure on Colgate’s defense in a 1-0 win over the Raiders on Saturday.

HONORABLE MENTION

FELIX DE BONA, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Jr., F, Somerville, Mass.
De Bona scored what was ultimately the game-winning goal against American in the fourth minute and led the offensive efforts with five shot attempts in two games.

JUSTIN WORLEY, LEHIGH Jr., D, Reading, Pa.
Worley helped anchor a Lehigh defense that secured two shutouts for a 2-0 week, blocking several shots and making multiple key defensive stops in the efforts.

JOE BOGAN, LEHIGH So., GK, Germantown, Md.
Bogan posted his fourth and fifth shutouts of the season against Fordham and Colgate, making three saves in a 3-0 win over the Rams and two in the 1-0 victory over the Raiders.

BRAD SEEBER, LAFAYETTE So., GK, Avon, Conn.
Seeber earned his second-straight shutout in League play, making three saves in a 0-0 draw with Loyola.

Corvias Patriot League Women's Soccer Weekly Awards

CORVIAS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KENDALL HAM, BUCKNELL So., F, Stratham, N.H.
Ham helped the Bison go 1-0-1 last week, collecting two goals and one assist for a total of five points in a 2-2 draw with Lafayette and 2-1 win over Colgate. In the mid-week road contest at Lafayette, Ham assisted on teammate Alexis Gannon's equalizing goal at 17:17 and later gave the Bison a 2-1 advantage at 50:45 with an unassisted goal from 20 yards out. Against Colgate, the sophomore put Bucknell on the board first after finding the back of the net on a left-footed shot to the far right post. The goal marked her eighth this season and ties her for the League lead. The 2-1 home victory over the Raiders is the first for the Bison over Colgate since 2010.

CORVIAS DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LEXI RICKETTS, NAVY Sr., D, The Woodlands, Texas
Ricketts anchored the backline against Lehigh and Holy Cross, helping Navy post back-to-back shutouts with a 1-0 win over the Mountain Hawks and a 0-0 draw with the Crusaders. The senior played all 200 minutes and was responsible for covering the top offensive options on both teams. She limited Lehigh's Sabrina Mertz, who came into the contest with 14 points (six goals, two assists), and Holy Cross's Annie Galvin, who came into the game with seven points (three goals and one assist), to just one shot each, neither of which were on target.

CORVIAS GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
BROOKE HOLLE, HOLY CROSS Jr., GK, Upper Saddle River, N.J.
Holle allowed just one goal in 200 minutes played, recording a total of 15 saves and a shutout in a pair of League contests with Army West Point and Navy. After the Black Knights took a 1-0 lead at 16:39, the junior did not allow a goal the rest of the contest, making five of her career-high eight saves in the second half. In the scoreless draw with the Mids, Holle tallied seven stops for her third shutout of the season.

CORVIAS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
McKENNA DOYLE, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Fr., F, Manhattan Beach, Calif.
In a battle for the top spot in the standings with Loyola Maryland on Saturday, Doyle helped the Terriers to their third League victory with a pair of goals in the 4-1 win over the Greyhounds. The freshman notched the first goal of the game, heading in a free kick in the 34th minute. She then tallied her second goal early in the second half to give BU a 3-0 advantage.

ANNIE GALVIN, HOLY CROSS Sr., F, Attleboro, Mass.
Galvin scored a pair of goals in the 2-1 win over Army West Point on Wednesday, with the game-winner coming with just 24 seconds left on the clock to clinch the victory.

CLARE SHEA, ARMY WEST POINT Sr., F, Stillwater, Minn.
Shea totaled four points this week with two goals, netting the lone tally for the Black Knights in a 2-1 loss to Holy Cross and one in a 2-0 victory over Lehigh.

KAELIN KING, LAFAYETTE Jr., F, La Canada, Calif.
King scored a pair of goals in the 2-2 draw with Bucknell and added an assist in the 2-1 loss to American to total five points this week.

MARLEY JENNINGS, AMERICAN Jr., F, Langhorne, Pa.
Jennings scored the lone goal for the Eagles in a 2-1 overtime loss to Loyola and added a pair of assists in a 2-1 double overtime win over Lafayette.

CHARLOTTE MILLER, LOYOLA MARYLAND Sr., F, Scarsdale, N.Y.
Miller was the only Greyhound to record points in both games this week, tallying a goal in the 2-1 win over American and an assist in the 4-1 loss to Boston University.

MEGHAN HEGARTY, NAVY So., M, Richmond, Va.
Hegarty collected her second game-winning goal of the season in the 1-0 victory over Lehigh, giving her a career-high four goals this season.

DAYTON WETHERBY, NAVY Jr., GK, Wesley Chapel, Fla.
Wetherby recorded seven saves and back-to-back shutouts -- for a career total of eight with a 1-0 win over Lehigh and 0-0 draw with Holy Cross.

CAROLINE WALLACE, HOLY CROSS Fr., D, Centerport, N.Y.
Wallace helped the Crusaders to a 2-1 victory over Army West Point and recorded two defensive saves in a 0-0 draw with Navy.

Corvias Patriot League Field Hockey Weekly Awards

CORVIAS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SOFI LAURITO, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Sr., M, Buenos Aires, Argentina
Laurito came up big in a pair of close games for the Terriers over the weekend as she totaled two goals and an assist in victories over American and Northeastern. In a key Patriot League matchup against the Eagles on Saturday, Laurito scored the game-winner after a penalty corner in the 55th minute to break a 3-3 tie as Boston University went on to a 5-3 win and remained undefeated in League action. Laurito also assisted on a goal that tied the score at 2-2 late in the first half. She tallied an unassisted goal in the 44th minute against Northeastern on Sunday as the Terriers went on to win 3-2 in overtime. Laurito has scored six goals this season, and earns her second career Corvias Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week award.

CORVIAS DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
RACHEL COLL, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Sr., D, Greymouth, New Zealand
Coll had a combined two goals and an assist in Boston University's victories over American and Northeastern over the weekend. She opened the scoring in the second minute against the Eagles and helped BU seal the 5-3 win with an assist on the final goal of the contest in the 68th minute. Coll also led the Terriers to the 3-2 win at Northeastern as she scored the overtime winner in the 78th minute to lift BU to its fifth victory in the last six games. Coll earns her second career Corvias Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week award.

CORVIAS GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
MEGAN INCH, HOLY CROSS Fr., GK, Perth, Scotland
Inch made seven saves to lead the Crusaders to a 2-1 overtime victory against Bryant on Friday night. She let in a goal 2:05 into the contest, then kept the Bulldogs off the board for more than 75 minutes as Holy Cross earned the overtime win. Inch made three saves in the first half and four in the second when she also helped the Crusaders fend off four penalty corners. Inch is named Corvias Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time to go with a Rookie of the Week honor as well.

CORVIAS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
TERESA CAROTENUTO, LEHIGH Fr., F, Macungie, Pa.
Carotenuto became the first Patriot League player since 2010 to score four goals in a game when she tallied all of Lehigh's markers in a 4-0 win over Siena on Sunday. She became the first Patriot Leaguer since Lafayette's Meghan Cicchi to score four goals in a game, one off the League record set by Lafayette's Suzi Farrell back in 1990. Carotenuto recorded Lehigh's first hat trick since 2012 and had the second-most goals for any Division I player this season. Her big effort brought Carotenuto into a tie for the Patriot League lead with seven goals for the season, and she is named the Corvias Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the second straight time.

KIERSTEN SYDNOR, BUCKNELL Sr., F, Shippensburg, Pa.
Sydnor totaled four goals and an assist in three games last week, with two goals and an assist in a 6-0 win over Colgate on Saturday.

AMANDA MAGADAN, LAFAYETTE Jr., F, Randolph, N.J.
Magadan scored a goal in each of Lafayette's games last week, helping the Leopards to a 2-1 win at Lehigh on Saturday.

MAUREEN CONNOLLY, HOLY CROSS So., F, New Canaan, Conn.
Connolly scored the game-winner in overtime to send Holy Cross to a 2-1 win over Bryant on Friday.

STEPHANIE DRESSLER, BUCKNELL So., D, McAllisterville, Pa.
Dressler had a goal in a 4-2 win over Saint Joseph's on Sunday and helped the Bison allow just four goals in three games last week.

JULIA WARD, LEHIGH Jr., GK, Belfast, Maine
Ward made six saves in a 2-1 loss to Lafayette on Saturday and two in a 4-0 shutout of Siena on Sunday.

NICOLE RUPNIK, BUCKNELL Fr., F, Camp Hill, Pa.
Rupnik had a combined two goals and an assist in weekend victories over Colgate and Saint Joseph's.

Molten Patriot League Volleyball Weekly Awards

MOLTEN PLAYER OF THE WEEK

LEAH TURNER, LEHIGH Sr., OH, Waukesha, Wisc.
Turner led the Mountain Hawks to a 2-0 weekend by posting back-to-back double-doubles against Bucknell and Colgate. The senior notched a pair of career highs with 25 kills and 19 digs on the road against the Bison, then followed with 22 kills and 17 digs in a straight-set win over the Raiders. Hitting .305 against Bucknell and .488 against Colgate, Turner averaged a .380 hitting percentage (47 kills and nine errors on 100 attempts) and 5.88 kills per set. In addition, Turner contributed four services ace, three of which were against the Bison.

MOLTEN ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
BLAKE BUCHHOLZ, BUCKNELL Fr., OH, Waupun, Wisc.
Buchholz earns her first Rookie of the Week honor this season after helping the Bison to a 1-1 weekend. The freshman tallied back-to-back double-doubles with 15 kills and 14 digs, to tie for leading the offensive efforts, in a 3-2 loss to Lehigh and 11 kills and 22 digs in a 3-2 win over Lafayette. She hit .278 across the 10 sets in two contests, totaling 26 kills and four errors on 79 attempts, in addition to dishing out a total of 36 digs for 3.6 digs per set.

ALLISON CAPPELLINO, AMERICAN Sr., OH, Penfield, N.Y.
Cappellino helped the Eagles to 3-0 wins over Army West Point and Holy Cross, recording a season-high four service aces against the Black Knights.

KAREN CAMPBELL, BUCKNELL Sr., MB, Chesapeake, Va.
Campbell recorded double-digit kills in back-to-back matches and finished with a .424 hitting percentage.

MARIA BALUS, LAFAYETTE Fr., S, Sunnyvale, Calif.
Balus averaged 12.20 assists per set in a 3-2 loss to Bucknell with 61 assists, totaling the most for a Lafayette player in over 10 years.

BRIANNE GIANGIOBBE, LAFAYETTE Sr., OH, Bethlehem, Pa.
Giangiobbe notched 23 kills in a 3-2 loss to Bucknell, totaling the most for a Lafayette player since Sept. 13, 2008.

HALEY PUDDY, LOYOLA MARYLAND Fr., MB, Dallas, Texas
Puddy helped the Greyhounds snap a 19-match Patriot League losing skid, hitting .450 with 11 kills in the 3-0 win over Holy Cross.

M-F ATHLETIC MALE RUNNER OF THE WEEK
LUCAS STALNAKER, NAVY Jr., Tega Cay, S.C.
Stalnaker had an impressive showing against a strong field as he placed 21st at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational on Friday with a time of 24:13.4 in the 8K race. He led Navy for the third time this season as the Mids placed eighth out of 20 teams in a field that included six nationally-ranked opponents, with Navy coming in front of a pair of top-20 squads. Stalnaker is named M-F Athletic Patriot League Male Runner of the Week for the third time this season.

M-F ATHLETIC FEMALE RUNNER OF THE WEEK
KELLEY ROBINSON, NAVY Sr., Nederlands, Colo.
Robinson led Navy to a ninth-place finish out of 35 teams in the Gold Race at the Paul Short Run by finishing in 25th place with a time of 21:11 in the 6K competition. Robinson earns the M-F Athletic Patriot League Female Runner of the Week award for the second time this season.

M-F ATHLETIC MALE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MATTHEW RAINEY, AMERICAN Fr., Brentwood, Tenn.
Rainey was the top Patriot League freshman in the Gold Race at the Paul Short Run as he came in 84th place with a time of 25:17 on the 8K course. He helped the Eagles to a 14th-place showing in the 27-team field. Rainey becomes the third different American freshman to earn the M-F Athletic Patriot League Male Rookie of the Week award this season.

M-F ATHLETIC FEMALE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
KASSIDY AYRES, AMERICAN Fr., Blauvelt, N.Y.
Ayres ran another impressive race as she finished 34th overall with a 6K time of 21:22 in the Gold Race at the Paul Short Run on Friday. She was the fourth freshman finisher in the field and the third Patriot Leaguer to complete the course. Ayers earns her third M-F Athletic Patriot League Female Rookie of the Week award of the season, and second consecutive, to go with a Runner of the Week honor. The three Rookie of the Week awards tie four others for the most in Patriot League history, while the four overall weekly honors are the most for a Patriot League freshman.

PATRICK REILLY, LEHIGH So., York, Pa.
Reilly was the top Patriot League finisher at the Paul Short Gold Run as he came in 23rd place with a personal-best time of 24:35.8 in the 8K race.

BRENDAN JOHNSON, AMERICAN Jr., Waldorf, Md.
Johnson came in 35th place at the Paul Short Gold Run with a time of 24:48 in the 8K race.

KATE SCOTT, BUCKNELL Jr., Newtown, Pa.
Scott came in 50th place at the Greater Louisville Classic with a time of 17:40 in the 5K race, and helped the Bison finish 13th in the 30-team field.

ERIN McDONNELL, NAVY Fr., Traverse City, Mich.
McDonnell came in 49th place at the Paul Short Gold Run with a time of 21:30 in the 6K race.

Corvias Patriot League Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

CORVIAS MALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
LOUIS BEHNEN, BUCKNELL Jr., Overland Park, Kan.
Behnen picked up two individual wins and helped the Bison to a first-place finish in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:10.72 in the season opener against UMBC, the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association defending champions. The junior touched the wall first in the 400 IM at 4:02.83 and in the 200 free at 1:42.95. Behnen also competed in the 200 IM, finishing fifth out of ten.

CORVIAS FEMALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
EMMA LEVENDOSKI, BUCKNELL Sr., Mandeville, La.
Levendoski won all three backstroke events in Bucknell's season opener against UMBC, the America East defending champions. Out of 11 swimmers in the 200 back, the senior clocked in first at 2:02.90. She then swept the back events on Saturday with a time of 56.61 in the 100 and 27.25 in the 50. Over the four years against the Retrievers, Levendoski won all 12 individual events in which she competed.

CORVIAS MALE DIVER OF THE WEEK
TYLE WENZEL, BUCKNELL Sr., Telford, Pa.
Wenzel captured first place in both diving events in Bucknell's season opener against UMBC, the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association defending champions. The senior scored 258.53 points in the 1-meter dive and 239.03 in the 3-meter dive to sweep the events.

HONORABLE MENTION

PARIS WOOD, AMERICAN Sr., Walnut Creek, Calif.
Wood helped the Eagles to a first-place finish in both the 2x500 free relay and 3x100 backstroke relay at the Potomac Relays Invitational.

MAURA MULLANEY, HOLY CROSS So., Livingston, N.J.
Mullaney competed in five events at the Assumption College Pentathlon for the Crusaders, finishing second in the 100 fly.
