CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Patriot League on Friday announced the hiring of Kevan Donovan as its new Director for Compliance and Sport Management.
Donovan will serve as the primary compliance officer for the League office and a contributing member of the sports management and governance team. He will also work as the Patriot League's administrative contact with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
"First of all, I would like to thank Carolyn Schlie Femovich and Ginger Fulton for providing me with this incredible opportunity," Donovan said. "During my time at the College of the Holy Cross, I recognized the excellence of the Patriot League and its member institutions from an academic, athletic and administrative standpoint. It is truly an honor to be in this position, and I look forward to continuing and building upon the work of my predecessors."
Donovan comes to the Patriot League after working at The Ohio State University since September 2013, and serving as Assistant Director for Compliance Monitoring since last April. Donovan was responsible for compliance with the school's softball and synchronized swimming teams, ensuring that NCAA, Big Ten and institutional rules were satisfied by each program. He also assisted in compliance monitoring for men and women's basketball.
Donovan previously served as the Compliance Assistant at the College of the Holy Cross from July 2011 through July 2013. Prior to his time at the College of the Holy Cross, Donovan was the Compliance Intern at Villanova University during the 2010-11 academic year after having served as a Volunteer Compliance Intern at Northwestern University during the 2009-2010 academic year.
A native of Nashua, New Hampshire, Donovan received his bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences from Colby-Sawyer College in 2007. At Colby-Sawyer College, he was a four-year letter winner, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative and co-captain for the varsity baseball team. Donovan later received his master's degree in sports administration from Northwestern University in 2010.
