Patriot League Weekly Awards - 3.23.15 
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Patriot League announced its weekly awards for March 16-22 in men and women's lacrosse, baseball, softball, men and women's outdoor track and field and men and women's tennis on Monday.
Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Weekly Awards
CORVIAS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
NIKKO PONTRELLO, LOYOLA MARYLAND Sr., A, Marlton, N.J.
Pontrello tied his career-high for assists on two occasions last week with four against both Georgetown and Lafayette. The senior attack also established a new career mark with nine points as he added five goals in Saturday's win over the Leopards. Pontrello leads Loyola in assists this season with 21, and he moved into the team lead in points with 36.

AUSTIN SCHULTZ, ARMY Jr., D, Lancaster, Pa.
Schultz drew the assignment of slowing down Lehigh attack Dan Taylor on Saturday and held one of the Patriot League's leading scorers to only one goal on five shots in the Black Knights' 7-5 victory. The Army junior caused one turnover and picked up two ground balls against the Mountain Hawks.
CORVIAS GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
SAM SOMERS, ARMY Sr., GK, Wilton, Conn.
Somers earned his sixth win of the season with eight saves on 13 shots on goal as the Black Knights defeated Lehigh 7-5 on Saturday. The senior faced a total of 16 shots in the fourth quarter alone and held the Mountain Hawks to two goals with one coming on a man-up situation. Somers stopped two shots from point blank range in the final 2:37 as Lehigh had two chances with an extra man.
CORVIAS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
JACK RAY, NAVY Fr., A, Wycoff, N.J.
Ray registered his second career hat trick, finishing with three goals and an assist in Navy's 7-6 win at Colgate. All three of the freshman's goals were unassisted, including the goal at 7:16 in the fourth quarter that would prove to be the game-winner. Ray is the Mids third-leading scorer and has recorded two or more goals in five of the last six contests.

CAL DEARTH, BOSTON UNIVERSITY So., M, Ridgefield, Conn.
Dearth recorded five points on two goals and three assists in the Terriers 11-9 win over Bucknell.
SAM TALKOW, BOSTON UNIVERSITY So., M/FO, Delray Beach, Fla.
Talkow was dominant in the faceoff X against Bucknell, winning 20-of-23 draws and collecting 11 ground balls in the Terriers 11-9 win over the Bison.
KEVIN LUX, HOLY CROSS So., A, Manlius, N.Y.
Lux recorded his third and fourth hat tricks of the season as Holy Cross posted non-League wins over St. John's and Hartford.
JOHN CONNORS, NAVY Jr., GK, Bellmore, N.Y.
Connors anchored a defense that held Colgate to a season-low six goals in Navy's 7-6 win over the Raiders.

KATIE GALLAGHER, NAVY Jr., A, Bel Air, Md.
Gallagher had a pair of hat tricks as she filled the stat sheet in two Patriot League victories for the Mids last week. She opened up with three goals and an assist with two ground balls and three caused turnovers to lead Navy to an 11-5 win at home against American on Wednesday, and tallied three more goals with two ground balls and two caused turnovers in an 11-8 victory at Boston University on Saturday. Gallagher has now recorded a hat trick in four straight games, with multi-goal performances in the last eight and at least one point in 28 consecutive contests. Gallagher stands second in the Patriot League with 27 goals and 39 points this season.
CORVIAS MIDFIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TARYN VanTHOF, LOYOLA MARYLAND Sr., M, Livonia, N.Y.
VanThof had a strong week all over the field as she combined for five goals, two assists, five ground balls, 13 draw controls and three caused turnovers in a pair of victories for the Greyhounds. VanThof started the week off with a goal and two assists along with two ground balls, nine draw controls and a caused turnover in a 15-7 win at home against Bucknell on Wednesday, then tallied a career-high four goals with three ground balls, four draw controls and two caused turnovers in a 10-6 victory at Lehigh on Saturday. She scored four of Loyola's five second-half goals to help hold off the Mountain Hawks. VanThof earns her first Corvias Patriot League Midfield Player of the Week award this season and the third in her career.

MADDY LESHER, LOYOLA MARYLAND Jr., D, Gladwyne, Pa.
Lesher played a key role in two victories for the Greyhounds as Loyola held Bucknell and Lehigh to a combined 13 goals. She had two ground balls, two draw controls and a caused turnover in a 15-7 win over the Bison on Wednesday, and came up big against the Mountain Hawks with three ground balls, three draw controls and two caused turnovers while holding Lehigh's top scorer, Allison LaBeau, scoreless for the first time this season. Lesher tied a career high with the three draw controls against Lehigh. Lesher is named Corvias Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for the first time.

HALEY O'HANLON, COLGATE Fr., M, Garden City, N.Y.
O'Hanlon totaled eight goals, two assists, three ground balls, 11 draw controls and two caused turnovers in a pair of wins for the Raiders last week. She matched the most goals for a Patriot League player this season with six to go along with a ground ball, caused turnover and four draw controls in an 18-7 win at Longwood on Wednesday, and came up big in Patriot League action with two goals, two assists, two ground balls, a caused turnover and seven draw controls in a 15-12 win at Bucknell on Saturday. O'Hanlon ranks in the Patriot League top 10 with 18 goals and 25 points. She is named Corvias Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

Generi tallied five goals, four assists, two ground balls, 14 draw controls and a caused turnover in a pair of wins for the Mids last week.

Schmitt totaled six goals, two assists, three ground balls and four caused turnovers in two victories last week.
MEGAN ARK, COLGATE Sr., A, Rochester, N.Y.
Ark had six goals and three assists in two wins last week, including a three-goal, three-assist effort in a 15-12 victory at Bucknell on Saturday.
AMANDA CASE, LAFAYETTE So., M/D, Havertown, Pa.
Case had five goals and an assist to lead Lafayette to a 13-9 win over Holy Cross on Sunday.
KENDALL GARDEN, LEHIGH Jr., M, Davidsonville, Md.
Garden had three goals, two assists, three ground balls and five caused turnovers as Lehigh split a pair of games last week.
CAROLINE MEEGAN, BOSTON UNIVERSITY So., GK, Timonium, Md.
Meegan had eight saves in a 9-8 overtime victory at Holy Cross on Wednesday, and made 13 saves to keep the Terriers close in an 11-8 loss to Navy on Saturday.
ROSE REDFOOT, AMERICAN Fr,, GK, Apex, N.C.
Redfoot had 18 saves, the most for a Patriot League goalkeeper this season, and also totaled five ground balls in an 11-5 loss at Navy on Wednesday.
CHRISTINA MANIS, BUCKNELL So., A, Manhasset, N.Y.
Manis had a career-high four goals and an assist in a 15-12 loss against Colgate on Saturday.

MIKE GARZILLO, LEHIGH Jr., 2B, Wind Gap, Pa.
Garzillo continued his hot start to the 2015 season by going 5-for-11 (.455) with two home runs and six RBIs in three games for the Mountain Hawks last week. He had a 3-for-5 effort with a home run, four RBIs and a double in an 11-10 loss at Delaware on Tuesday, then went 2-for-6 with a home run and two RBIs as Lehigh lost a pair of one-run games at Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday. Garzillo was 1-for-3 with a pair of stolen bases in a 2-1 loss in the opener, and had a home run and two RBIs in a 4-3 defeat in the nightcap. He leads the Patriot League with a .441 batting average and .746 slugging percentage for the season.
CORVIAS PITCHER OF THE WEEK
ANDREW ANDREYCHIK, BUCKNELL Jr., P, Danville, Pa.
Andreychik did not allow an earned run as he pitched Bucknell to a 2-1 win over Cornell with a seven-inning complete game in the opener of a doubleheader on Sunday. Andreychik scattered eight hits and walked just one while recording a season-high seven strikeouts in the outing. The unearned run scored in the first inning and Andreychik kept the Big Red off the board the rest of the way. He has not allowed an earned run over his last 11 innings pitched. Andreychik has now been named Corvias Patriot League Pitcher of the Week in each of his three seasons, with four total awards in that span.
CORVIAS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
BRANDON LEE, ARMY Fr., OF, Leawood, Kan.
Lee closed out Army's spring trip with an impressive series against Harvard over the weekend as he notched five hits and five RBIs in the four-game set. Lee went 1-for-4 with an RBI in an 11-8 loss in Thursday's contest, then went 2-for-3 with two RBIs as the Black Knights dropped Friday's nightcap 8-3. He helped Army avoid a sweep on Saturday by going 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs in a 6-5 victory. Lee hit 5-for-17 (.294) with a run and five RBIs in five games last week.

STEPHEN MOORE, NAVY Sr., P, Roswell, Ga.
Moore allowed one run on four hits with no walks and six strikeouts while firing a seven-inning complete game in Navy's 3-1 win over Princeton on Sunday.
J.R. EDWARDS, LEHIGH Sr., P, Wellington, Fla.
Edwards pitched a no-hitter for 6.2 innings before surrendering a two-run home run as his only hit allowed over seven innings in a 2-1 loss at Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday.
DAVID BEDNAR, LAFAYETTE So., P, Valencia, Pa.
Bednar allowed two runs (one earned) and struck out seven while throwing 6.2 innings for a complete game in a 2-1 loss to Penn on Sunday.
ALEX WOINSKI, LAFAYETTE So., 1B/LF, Paramus, N.J.
Woinski had two home runs and seven RBIs in three games for the Leopards last week.
SEAN TRENT, NAVY Jr., 3B/OF, Sorrento, Fla.
Trent went 8-for-17 (.471) with three doubles, a run scored and two RBIs in five games for Navy, and has now reached base safely in 14 consecutive contests.
JOE OGREN, BUCKNELL Jr., 2B, Jackson, N.J.
Ogren batted 5-for-15 (.333) with his Patriot League-leading fourth home run of the season and three RBIs in five games last week.
Patriot League Softball Weekly Awards
CORVIAS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JESSICA CALVINI, LEHIGH Jr., IF/OF, Mamaroneck, N.Y.
Calvini led Lehigh to a doubleheader sweep of Penn by reaching base in six of seven plate appearances while scoring three runs and driving in three more. The junior doubled and scored Lehigh's first run in a 10-0 win over the Quakers in game one and then opened the scoring in game two with a 2-RBI single in a 3-0 victory. Calvini is now batting .346 on the season and is tied for team lead with 11 RBI.

EMILY BAUSHER, LEHIGH Sr., P, New Egypt, N.J.
Bausher earned her third Pitcher of the Week honor by scattering three singles and striking out six of the 19 batters she faced in the Mountain Hawks 10-0 win over Penn in the first game of a doubleheader on Wednesday. The Patriot League preseason Pitcher of the Year recorded the 18th shutout of her career and third of the season against the Quakers.
CORVIAS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
HOLLY GERANEN, COLGATE Fr., 3B/SS, San Jose, Calif.
Geranen batted .444 (4-for-9) for the week and slugged her second career home run for Colgate in a doubleheader against Florida A&M. The freshman also stole her first two bases of the season against the Rattlers. Geranen holds a .297 batting average and sits third on the team with 11 hits and six RBIs.

ALEE RASHENSKAS, ARMY So., INF, St. Anne, Ill.
Rashenskas reached base in four of seven plate appearances in a doubleheader against Canisius, scoring twice and driving in one run.
LINDSEY CHERRY, LAFAYETTE So., P, Carol Stream, Ill.
Cherry did not give up an earned run in two appearances during the week and hurled a shutout in the Leopards 1-0 win over UMBC.

CAMERON WILLIAMS, BOSTON UNIVERSITY So., San Antonio, Texas
Williams has his outdoor campaign off to a fast start by winning the 200-meter dash in a time of 20.94 at the Hurricane Invitational in Miami over the weekend. The time stands second in the NCAA East Region and fourth in the country overall to date. Williams also ran the 18th-fastest time in the NCAA East in the 100-meter dash with a mark of 10.67 seconds.

GEMMA ACHEAMPONG, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Sr., Waterbury, Conn.
Acheampong won both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash at the Hurricane Invitational with times that rank in the top 10 in the NCAA East Region. She won the 100-meter in a time of 11.64, placing second in the East and fifth in the nation overall .Her time of 24.14 in the 200-meter stands 10th in the East Region. Acheampong is named M-F Athletic Patriot League Female Track Athlete of the Week for the third time in her career in the outdoor season.

JAY STELL, NAVY Jr., Carlsbad, N.M.
Stell had a pair of top-two finishes in the javelin as Navy competed at the UC-San Diego Challenge on March 14 and Point Loma Invitational on Saturday. He was second at the UC-San Diego Challenge with a mark of 66.95 meters, which stands eighth in the NCAA East Region, and won the event at the Point Loma Invite with a toss of 65.60 meters to help Navy take the title in the 10-team field. Stell earns the fourth M-F Athletic Patriot League Male Field Athlete of the Week award of his career.

COURTNEY AVERY, LEHIGH So., Wynantskill, N.Y.
Avery won the high jump at the Philly Classic with a mark of 1.65 meters, which places her in the top 30 in the NCAA East Region. She continues a strong year by winning the M-F Athletic Patriot League Female Field Athlete of the Week award to start the outdoor season after capturing a pair of honors during indoor competition.

LEE BARES, ARMY Fr., Lakeville, Minn.
Bares has placed in the top two in a pair of pole vault competitions to open the outdoor season. He finished second at the Anteater Four-Way with a mark of 4.85 meters on March 14 and won the event with a leap of 5.00 meters to help Army to a first-place finish out of eight teams at the Spring Break Invitational in Irvine, Calf. over the weekend. The 5.00-meter mark places Bares 12th in the pole vault in the NCAA East Region.

MEAGAN HILLA, ARMY Fr., Green Bay, Wis.
Hilla opened up her outdoor campaign with a pair of top-two finishes in the high jump at events in California. She placed second at the Anteater Four-Way with a mark of 1.60 meters on March 14, then won the event at the Spring Break Invitational with a jump of 1.65 meters. The latter mark places Hilla in the top-30 of the NCAA East Region.

Oluwadara won the triple jump with a leap of 14.98 meters at the Hurricane Invitational, and ranks 10th in the NCAA East Region in the event.

Batiste won a pair of 400-meter races in his home state to open the outdoor season, with his marks of 47.86 and 47.88 standing among the top-20 in the NCAA East Region.
JARREL BOBB, LAFAYETTE Jr., Bushkill, Pa.
Bobb won both the 200-meter (21.87) and 400-meter (50.36) races at the Philly Classic, with his time in the former standing 40th in the NCAA East Region.
JOHN CAMPBELL, NAVY Fr., Amarillo, Texas
Campbell has marks in the discus (50.39m), hammer (54.1m) and shot put (15.03m) that each rank in the top 60 of the NCAA East Region.

Beauchamp recorded marks in the hammer throw (53.62m) and discus (47.94m) at the Philly Classic that both rank in the top 50 in the NCAA East Region.

ALEX VAN VELZER, ARMY Sr., Montgomery, Texas
Van Velzer is honored as Player of the Week for the second time this season after helping the Black Knights get off to a 3-0 start in Patriot League play. The senior teamed with Sam Lampman for a trio of victories at No. 1 doubles and he also defeated Loyola Maryland's Jordan Kuchta at No. 2 singles. Van Velzer earned one of two singles wins as Army wrapped up a west coast swing against Asuza Pacific.
CORVIAS FEMALE TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
EVA SUNG, ARMY Jr., Pittsburgh, Pa.
Sung teamed with Hannah Dahlem for a pair of wins at No. 1 doubles and won one time each at No. 1 and No. 2 singles as Army opened the Patriot League season with wins over Holy Cross, Lafayette and Loyola Maryland. The junior is currently riding a three-match winning streak at both singles and doubles for the Black Knights.

Kostirko defeated Brown's Hannah Camhi, a 2014 All-Ivy League honoree, 7-5, 5-7, 7-5 at No. 3 singles.
NICK BYBEL, BUCKNELL Jr., Lancaster, Pa.
Bybel won his 11th straight match and improved to 28-3 on the year with wins against Mt. Saint Mary's and Chestnut Hill.
WIN REYNOLDS, COLGATE So., Houston, Texas
Reynolds posted an unblemished mark of 4-0 in both singles and doubles play during Raiders trip to Puerto Rico.
MEGAN HAHN, LOYOLA MARYLAND So., Houston, Texas
Hahn was 2-0 in Patriot League singles action and 2-1 in doubles as the Greyhounds went 2-1 against Army, Holy Cross and Lafayette.
SAM DROOP, NAVY Jr., Hilton Head Island, S.C.
Droop won at No. 2 singles and teamed with Mikaela Carlson to clinch the doubles point in Navy's 4-3 win over Rhode Island.
