Former Boston University women's lacrosse student-athlete Danielle Etrasco earned a spot on the United States National Team for the third straight year, U.S. Lacrosse announced on Sunday. BU head coach Liz Robertshaw continues her position as an assistant coach for the U.S. National Team and will work primarily with the attack.
Etrasco was a player on the 2013 World Champion U.S. Women's National Team and scored 12 goals during tournament play to help the team to an undefeated run for the world title. Robertshaw was also an assistant coach for the U.S. National Team in 2013.
"I couldn't be more excited to have the opportunity to continue working with Danielle, and all of the Team USA attackers, in the coming year," Robertshaw said. "Watching this elite group of athletes compete is something so incredible because they are among the best in the world, and Danielle has established her place within that group. Her hard work, dedication to her craft and passion for representing the United States is something I am continually impressed by. She has made all of us here within the BU Lacrosse Family extremely proud."
In the winter prior to her senior season, Etrasco, a two-time All American, became the first-ever Terrier to make the U.S. National Team's final roster.
The three-time America East First Team All-Conference honoree finished second all-time in school history with 248 points. She also ranks second in goals (192) while her 157 draw controls are third all-time for the Terriers.
