Farina Signs With Milwaukee Brewers

EASTON, Pa. -- Former Lafayette relief pitcher Alex Farina has signed a free-agent contract with the Milwaukee Brewers organization. He will report this week to the rookie-level Arizona League affiliate in Phoenix.

Farina, who just graduated last month with a degree in mechanical engineering, was the Leopards' most relied upon bullpen arm this season, throwing 37 innings in 16 appearances. He went 2-2 with a 3.89 earned run average and struck out 31 batters while walking only eight.

For his career, Farina appeared in 59 games and struck out 102 batters over 138.2 innings. He started 15 games spanning his first three seasons and also recorded three saves during his junior year.
