BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced a record 4,047 student-athletes made the 2024-25 Academic Honor Roll, including 2,711 honorees on the Winter-Spring Academic Honor Roll. The League improved by 171 members from the 2023-24 academic year.
Patriot League student-athletes are selected to the academic honor roll for achieving a 3.20 grade point average (GPA) or better during the semester in which their League champion is crowned. The 2024-25 season marks the first academic year the Patriot League topped 4,000 honor roll selections. The League previously had 1,336 student-athletes named to the fall academic honor roll.
The Winter-Spring Academic Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes from the 15 sports, which conduct their League championship during the spring semester, including baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s track and field, women’s rowing and softball. The Fall Academic Honor Roll includes student-athletes from men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, football, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball.
During the 2024-25 academic year, 2,204 women were recognized across 12 sports, while 1,843 men were honored across 10 sports, which was an increase of more than 100 student-athletes from last year. Patriot League women’s track and field teams placed a League-high 410 student-athletes on the honor roll, while men’s track and field (306) and women’s rowing (309) ranked second and third, respectively, during the winter and spring seasons. Men’s lacrosse (284), women’s lacrosse (270), women’s swimming and diving (265) and men’s swimming and diving (213) all placed 200 or more student-athletes on the honor roll. Baseball (121), softball (102), women’s basketball (99), men’s basketball (87), women’s tennis (79), men’s tennis (78), men’s golf (54) and women’s golf (33) completed the contributions to the winter-spring honor roll.
Bucknell recorded a League-high 539 student-athletes on the academic honor roll, including 341 during the winter and spring seasons. Lafayette ranked second with 449 honorees, Lehigh placed 446 on the honor roll to rank third, while Colgate (445) and Holy Cross (425) were fourth and fifth, respectively. Boston University (395), Navy, (346), Loyola Maryland (345), American (253) and Army West Point (200) rounded out the League’s 10 full-member institutions.
Associate members Georgetown (104), Fordham (64) and MIT (36) contributed to the League’s 4,025 honorees during the 2024-25 academic year.
