WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross baseball team was selected to compete in the Austin Regional as announced by the NCAA on Monday. The Crusaders will make back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1962 and 1963 after capturing their second consecutive Patriot League Tournament Championship, the third in program history, and earning the conference's automatic bid.
Holy Cross will open the NCAA Tournament with a contest against Texas (40-13, 19-10 SEC) on Friday, May 29 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time. The Longhorns are the No. 6 overall seeded team in the tournament. The other two teams selected to the Austin Regional were No. 2 seed UC Santa Barbara (38-18, 22-8 Big West) and No. 3 seed Tarleton State (37-19, 12-6 WAC).
The first round of the tournament features a double elimination format, with one team from each of the 16 regionals across the country advancing to the super regionals. The 16 teams in the super regionals will then play in a best-of-three series to determine the eight teams that will move on to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.

The Patriot League Champion Holy Cross baseball team enters its 13th overall NCAA Tournament with an overall record of 25-28 and 13-13 PL, becoming the first No. 4 seed to win the Patriot League title since 2010. The Crusaders recorded 25+ wins for the third straight season. They became the first non service academy Patriot League program to capture consecutive conference titles. Holy Cross has won nine of its last 13 games, and the 17 road wins in 2026 are its most in a single season since winning 17 games away from Worcester in 2016.
