Patriot League Weekly Awards - 9.21.15 
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Patriot League announced its weekly awards for Sept. 14-20 in men and women's soccer, field hockey, volleyball and men and women's cross country on Monday.
Corvias Patriot League Men's Soccer Weekly Awards
CORVIAS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DALE LUDWIG, AMERICAN Jr., M, Palmyra, Va.
Facing two ranked opponents over the weekend, Ludwig helped No. 21 American to a 1-1 mark with a 1-0 victory over No. 18 Loyola Marymount and a 2-1 overtime loss to No. 17 New Mexico. The junior scored the eventual game-winner just five minutes into the game against No. 18 Loyola Marymount, and the win over the Lions is the second time this season that the Eagles have beaten a ranked opponent. Earlier this season they posted a 2-0 shutout over then-No. 17 Hofstra. Ludwig totaled four shots against the ranked opponents, two of which were on goal.
CORVIAS DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
P.J. SUESS, NAVY Sr., D, Cincinnati, Ohio
Suess helped the Mids' defense hold No. 4 Maryland to just one goal, which was off a corner kick, in a 1-0 loss to the Terps. The senior made a defensive save by diving towards a ball off the backline. In a 1-0 overtime win against Saint Joseph's, Suess played all 95 minutes in the Mids' victory.
CORVIAS GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
JACKSON MORGAN, NAVY Sr., GK, Brecksville, Ohio
The first repeat-award winner this season after earning the honor the first week of the season, Morgan notched a total of seven saves and only allowed one goal as the Mids went 1-1 over the week. The lone goal given up was on a corner kick in the 84th minute by No. 4 Maryland. The veteran posted his third shutout of the season and 11th of his career in a 1-0 overtime victory over Saint Joseph's.
CORVIAS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MARK FORREST, LEHIGH Fr., F/M, Douglasville, Pa.
Helping the Mountain Hawks to a 1-0-1 week with three points, Forrest responded to Robert Morris' goal at 26:42 less than three minutes later on Friday by notching his first collegiate goal at 29:25 to tie the game at 1-1. Tied at 2-2 in double overtime, Forrest assisted on teammate Jamie Luchini's goal at 100:25 for the 3-2 victory over the Colonials.
HONORABLE MENTION
JAMIE LUCHINI, LEHIGH Sr., F/M, Wexford, Pa.
Luchini scored the game-winning goal in double overtime on the road at Robert Morris and assisted on Lehigh's other two other goals in the victory.
NICK RIZZO, COLGATE Sr., F, St. Louis, Mo.
Rizzo netted the game-winner against Air Force and also added an assist in the 3-2 win for a total of three points.
NATE ARRONSON, LAFAYETTE Sr., D, Bryn Mawr, Pa.
Arronson helped the Leopards to a 2-1 victory at Buffalo after scoring the first goal from the back line.
DYLAN HOBERT, AMERICAN Sr., GK, Carrolton, Ga.
In 187:09 minutes of action this week, Hobert allowed two goals, both to No. 17 New Mexico, and recorded six saves.
JOE BOGAN, LEHIGH So., GK, Germantown, Md.
Bogan notched his third shutout in five games this season by making a career-high 10 saves in a double-overtime scoreless draw with Saint Francis (Pa.).

CORVIAS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SARAH COY, COLGATE Jr., F, Boca Raton, Fla.
After a quiet performance during the non-League slate, Coy opened Patriot League play with a bang and led the Raiders to a 3-1 victory over American. Coy, the 2014 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, picked up her first goals of the season by scoring all three to collect the first hat trick by a Colgate player during League play since Franny Iacuzzi, a 25th Anniversary Team member, netted three in a 6-1 victory over Lafayette on Oct. 9, 2005. After scoring the first goal in the 31st minute, the junior gave the Raiders a 2-0 lead with less than a minute remaining in the first half. She then capped off her day's performance with just two minutes remaining in the game by knocking in a loose through ball just inside the box.

RACHEL BLOZNALIS, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Sr., D, Upton, Mass.
The Terriers posted two victories this weekend with the help from Bloznalis and the defense. Anchoring a defensive line that allowed just one goal to Providence in a 2-1 win, Bloznalis helped the team to a League-opening victory as the Terriers kept Bucknell off the board for all 90 minutes in a 4-0 shutout.

BROOKE HOLLE, HOLY CROSS Jr., GK, Upper Saddle River, N.J.
Holle posted the second shutout of her career as the Crusaders played to a 0-0 draw with Lehigh in the Patriot League opener for both sides. The junior made six saves for the clean sheet against the League's top scoring offense heading into the weekend.

ELEANOR PRATT, NAVY Fr., M, New Orleans, La.
Pratt added to her League lead in assists with one each against Army West Point and St. Francis (Pa.) this week for a total of five on the season. Both assists came off corner kicks for the Mids' first goals of the game. Pratt helped tie the score at 1-1 in the 48th minute against the Black Knights and then assisted on teammate Clare MacAdam's goal in the 47th minute against St. Francis (Pa.) for the 1-0 lead. Pratt becomes the second Navy rookie this season to earn the Corvias Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor, joining fellow classmate Margaret Woodward.

KATIE HOLDER, ARMY WEST POINT Sr., F, Stillwater, Minn.
Holder scored two goals in a draw with Navy to open Patriot League play, collecting her first multi-goal game of her career. She now has 14 career goals.
ROSY HAYES, LOYOLA MARYLAND Sr., M, Northport, N.Y.
Hayes scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Greyhounds over Lafayette for Loyola's first Patriot League opening victory since joining the League in 2013.
CLARE MACADAM, NAVY So., F, Palmyra, Va.
MacAdam scored the game-tying goal in a 2-2 draw with Army West Point and also scored two goals against St. Francis (Pa.). She has now scored at least one goal in three-straight games.
DAYTON WETHERBY, NAVY Jr., GK, Wesley Chapel, Fla.
Wetherby made a season-high 10 saves in the 2-2 draw with Army West Point and then helped Navy to its first shutout of the season against St. Francis (Pa.).

CORVIAS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BEA BAUMBERGER ALTIRRIBA, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Jr., M/D, Barcelona, Spain
Baumberger Altiribba notched a goal and an assist to lead her team to a 3-1 win over Lafayette in the Patriot League opener for both squads on Saturday. She opened the scoring in the 29th minute, and tallied an assist as BU scored in the 47th minute for a 3-0 lead. Baumberger Altiribba is tied for the Patriot League lead with six assists, and is also tied for second in the League with 12 points.

KAITLYN MURRAY, HOLY CROSS Sr., M/D, Farmington, Conn.
Murray helped the Holy Cross defense allow a combined nine shots on goal in two wins last week, and pitched in on offense with three assists in a 5-2 victory at Vermont on Wednesday. The three assists came on penalty corners and tied for the third-most in a single game in school history. Murray helped her unit allow four shots on goal against the Catamounts and five in a 4-1 Patriot League win over Colgate on Saturday.

MEGAN INCH, HOLY CROSS Fr., GK, Perth, Scotland
One week after earning the Corvias Patriot League Rookie of the Week award, Inch takes the Goalkeeper of the Week honor after backstopping the Crusaders to wins over Vermont and Colgate. She made two saves in a 5-2 triumph against the Catamounts on Wednesday, and stopped four shots as Holy Cross opened Patriot League action with a 4-1 win over Colgate on Saturday. Inch posted a 1.50 goals against average and .667 save percentage for the week, and leads the Patriot League with a 1.50 goals against average for the season.

EMILY LOPRETE, HOLY CROSS Fr., F, Watertown, Mass.
Loprete's outstanding start to her career continued last week as she totaled three goals and an assist in a pair of wins for the Crusaders. She scored a pair of goals in a 5-2 win at Vermont on Wednesday, and tallied a goal and an assist as Holy Cross opened Patriot League play with a 4-1 victory over Colgate on Saturday. Loprete leads the Patriot League in both goals (six) and points (13) for the season, and is named the Corvias Rookie of the Week for the second time this year.

ALEX BEATSON, LEHIGH Sr., D, Wilmington, Del.
Beatson helped lead a sound Lehigh defense in a pair of 1-0 losses over the weekend, including an overtime contest against American.
Molten Patriot League Volleyball Weekly Awards
MOLTEN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
VANESSA EDWARDS, ARMY WEST POINT Sr., S, Sacramento, Calif.
Edwards had a hand in 150 of the Black Knights' points this weekend (out of 187) with 14 individual points and 136 from assists and was named to the Sea Wolves All-Tournament Team. The senior setter recorded three-straight double-doubles and averaged 12.36 assists on the weekend. In a 3-1 loss to Rhode Island, Edwards posted 42 assists and 10 digs and almost matched that in a 3-0 win over Columbia with 44 assists and 10 digs. In a 3-1 win over Stony Brook, she tallied 50 assists and 12 digs. With 508 assists so far this season, Edwards now has a career total of 1,779 assists, good for eighth all-time in Army West Point history. She also leads the League with 9.96 assists per set.
MOLTEN ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MARIA BALUS, LAFAYETTE Fr., S, Sunnyvale, Calif.
The first repeat-award winner this season, Balus helped the Leopards to a 3-0 weekend with victories over St. Francis Brooklyn, NJIT, and Rider. The rookie posted a double-double in the five-set win over Rider with 43 assists and 20 digs and also contributed eight kills in 11 attempts with no errors to hit .727. She recorded two aces during a stretch of 13-straight points that Lafayette won during her serve to begin the third set and rally from a two-set deficit. Across the three matches played, Balus recorded 15 kills and no errors on 24 attempts to hit .625, while adding 106 assists to average 8.83 per set.

KATHLEEN HARRIS, COLGATE Jr., OH, Playa del Rey, Calif.
Leading the Raiders to their first three wins of the season, Harris dominated the net to open Patriot League play against Bucknell with a career-high 22 kills for a .500 hitting percentage. She also added two double-doubles and was named the MVP of the Bucknell Invitational.
MONIKA SMIDOVA, AMERICAN Sr., S, Plzen, Czech Republic
Smidova totaled 102 assists this weekend for 10.2 assists per set in addition to posting two double-doubles for a total of eight this season. She also recorded a season-high 52 assists in a 3-2 loss to Virginia.
BRIANNE GIANGIOBBE, LAFAYETTE Sr., OH, Bethlehem, Pa.
Giangiobbe helped the Leopards to three victories over the weekend after posting three-straight matches with double-digit kills. She also set a new career high with seven blocks in the 3-0 win over NJIT.
KAREN CAMPBELL, BUCKNELL Sr., MB, Chesapeake, Va.
Campbell posted three-straight matches of double-digit kills and earned her fourth straight All-Tournament team selection.

M-F ATHLETIC MALE RUNNER OF THE WEEK
RYAN McCOY, NAVY Jr., New Glarus, Wisc.
McCoy helped Navy win the title in the seven-team Cappy Anderson Invitational by finishing first among a pack of runners for the Mids in a time of 24:55.72 in the 8K race. He earned his first career individual title with the victory, and the Mids won for the third time in as many competitions this season.

KELLEY ROBINSON, NAVY Sr., Nederlands, Colo.
Robinson took first place at the Cappy Anderson Invitational by finishing the 5K race in a time of 18:17.11. She helped Navy win the nine-team race as the Mids claimed a title for the second consecutive week. Robinson won a race for the first time this season and second in her career

BRIAN ARITA, LEHIGH Fr., Newtown, Pa.
Arita was the top finishing freshman in Lehigh's 115-50 win over rival Lafayette as he came in 13th place with a time of 27:11.95 in the 8K race. The Mountain Hawks swept the seven scoring spots from the Leopards and took 13 of the top 14 spots in the race overall.

ERIN McDONNELL, NAVY Fr., Traverse City, Mich.
McDonnell helped Navy win the Cappy Anderson Invitational by finishing second to teammate Kelley Robinson with a time of 18:19.70 in the 5K race. McDonnell's performance helped the Mids win a team title for the second consecutive week.

SCOTT MASON, LEHIGH So., Wyndmoor, Pa.
Mason came in first place against rival Lafayette with a time of 26:23.4 as the Mountain Hawks beat the Leopards in the dual meet.
SHANNON WRIGHT, LEHIGH Gr., Winfield, Pa.
Wright led Lehigh to a dual meet victory over rival Lafayette by finishing first in the 6K race with a time of 23:21.8.
