Patriot League Announces Weekly Awards

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Patriot League announced its weekly awards for April 11-17 in women's lacrosse, baseball, softball, tennis and track and field on Monday.

CORVIAS PATRIOT LEAGUE ATTACKER OF THE WEEK
ALLISON LABEAU, LEHIGH Jr., A, Mountain Lakes, N.J.
LaBeau scored six goals and added an assist as Lehigh gave Loyola its toughest test in three years in the Patriot League before falling 14-13 in overtime on the road against the Greyhounds on Saturday. LaBeau tied her career-high output in goals with six on just seven shots, and scored three over the final 13:23 of the second half with two of those coming as part of Lehigh's five-consecutive tallies to send the game to overtime. LaBeau has recorded seven or more points in two straight games and four times overall this season, and leads the Patriot League with 64 points for the year.

CORVIAS PATRIOT LEAGUE MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
EMILY CLARK, LOYOLA MARYLAND Jr., M, Street, Md.
Clark notched four goals, including the game-winner in overtime, and also tallied two assists to lead Loyola to a 14-13 victory at home against Lehigh on Saturday. The winning tally came unassisted with 4:51 left after Lehigh had scored the last five goals of regulation to even the score. Clark won the draw control to set up the opening possession of overtime for the Greyhounds. She finished with four draw controls in the contest as well as a ground ball and caused turnover. Clark's other three goals were part of a 7-0 Loyola run that turned a 5-3 deficit into a 10-5 lead. Clark set career bests in goals, assists, points and draw controls in the contest.

CORVIAS PATRIOT LEAGUE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
INGRID BOYUM, NAVY So., GK, Herndon, Va.
Boyum notched nine saves to pace the Mids in a 12-6 win over Boston University on Saturday in Annapolis. She made four saves in the first half to keep the Terriers off the board as BU was blanked in a half for the first time since 2007 and Navy raced out to a 6-0 lead. Boyum added five saves in the second half as BU would not get the deficit closer than four goals.

CORVIAS PATRIOT LEAGUE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
IZZY MCMAHON, ARMY WEST POINT Fr., A, Bardonia, N.Y.
McMahon scored four goals to keep the Black Knights close in a 12-9 loss to American on Saturday. She scored three goals in the second half as Army West Point cut a five-goal deficit all the way down to one before American tallied the final two goals to secure the win. McMahon has eight goals on the season and has scored in four of her five contests since joining the team.

HONORABLE MENTION

HALEY O'HANLON, COLGATE So., M, Garden City, N.Y.
O'Hanlon totaled five goals, four assists, six ground balls and eight draw controls in a pair of wins for the Raiders last week.

JENNIFER DESIMONE, AMERICAN So., A, Middletown, Md.
DeSimone recorded four goals and three assists in American's 12-9 win at Army West Point on Saturday.

EMILY BECKER, BUCKNELL Sr., A, Pompano Beach, Fla.
Becker scored four goals and added an assist in Bucknell's 10-9 loss at Colgate.

MORGAN YOUNG, NAVY Jr., A, Baltimore, Md.
Young notched three goals and an assist in Navy's victory over Boston University.

KIRSTEN WILHELMSEN, LAFAYETTE Jr., A/M, Wallingford, Pa.
Wilhelmsen scored four goals in Lafayette's 13-5 win at Holy Cross, bringing her Patriot League-leading total to 49.

ANNA RAYMOND, LAFAYETTE So., GK, Mahopac, N.Y.
Raymond made seven saves to help the Leopards to a 13-5 win at Holy Cross.

CORVIAS PATRIOT LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SAM CLARK, BUCKNELL Jr., 3B/1B, Trabuco Canyon, Calif.
Clark went 6-for-15 with four doubles, six RBIs and two runs scored as Bucknell split a weekend series at Lafayette. He had at least one double in each contest with either a run scored or RBI in each game. Clark had a pair of multiple-hit outings in Saturday's doubleheader when he went 4-for-9 with two doubles, a run scored and two RBIs. He helped deliver a 5-3 victory in Sunday's opener with a three-run double in the top of the seventh to put the Bison in front and complete a five-run inning for the comeback win. Clark has seven multi-hit games in his last 13 outings, and is hitting .450 (18-for-45) in Patriot League play.

CORVIAS PATRIOT LEAGUE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
DANIEL BURGGRAAF, ARMY WEST POINT Fr., P, Belfair, Wash.
Burggraaf helped Army West Point earn a split of its four-game series at Holy Cross by pitching seven shutout innings with just three hits and one walk allowed and striking out nine in a 3-0 victory in the finale on Sunday. He pitched the Black Knights to their first shutout of the season and improved his record to 2-1 while recording career bests in both innings pitched and strikeouts. Burggraaf set down 12 Crusaders in a row at one point as he pitched with a 1-0 lead until the Black Knights added a pair of insurance runs in the top of the seventh.

CORVIAS PATRIOT LEAGUE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
NOAH SONG, NAVY Fr., P, Claremont, Calif.
Song pitched his second one-hit shutout in three Patriot League starts as he blanked Lehigh 3-0 in Sunday's opener as Navy went on to sweep the doubleheader and take three of four games in the series. Song struck out four and walked two while allowing just the one hit, a lead-off single on the first pitch of the game, in the seven-inning effort. The only runner to reach second base did so on an error. Song has three complete-game shutouts and was part of a fourth over the course of his first seven starts and leads all Patriot League pitchers with both a 0.95 ERA and opponents' batting average in League competition.

LUKE GILLINGHAM, NAVY Sr., P, Coronado, Calif.
Gillingham pitched a three-hit seven-inning shutout with eight strikeouts in Navy's 3-0 win over Lehigh on Saturday.

ANDREW ANDREYCHIK, BUCKNELL Sr., P, Danville, Pa.
Andreychik struck out 10 batters and allowed just one run in going all seven innings in Bucknell's 4-1 win over Lafayette on Saturday.

PETER MOORE, LEHIGH So., P, Chester, N.Y.
Moore gave up just an unearned run and three hits over six innings of work in Lehigh's 9-2 win over Navy on Saturday.

MICHAEL CONIGLIO, LAFAYETTE Sr., OF, Ridgewood, N.J.
Coniglio was a combined 5-for-8 with two runs scored and four RBIs in Lafayette's two wins over Bucknell.

ADRIAN CHINNERY, NAVY Jr., C, Wilmington, Del.
Chinnery went 7-for-16 with a run scored, four RBIs and seven walks in five games last week.

CORVIAS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MACKENZIE VELASQUEZ, LEHIGH Sr., OF, Plano, Texas
Velasquez opened the Lehigh-Army West Point three-game series going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, putting the Mountain Hawks on the board first in the top of the second and helping the team to an 8-3 victory. The senior drove in a total of three and scored a pair, while swiping two bases. On Sunday, she moved up to No. 2 in the order and recorded an RBI single that tied the game at 3-3 in the second inning. Velasquez finished the week batting .438 (7-for-16) and five RBI.

CORVIAS PITCHER OF THE WEEK
AMANDA FAZIO, BUCKNELL Sr., P, Chatham, N.J.
Fazio earns her fourth weekly award after another strong performance in the circle for the Bison. In two games against Boston University, the senior gave up just three hits and three runs across 13 innings of work, while striking out 12 and walking just one. Earlier in the week, she also pitched five innings against Penn State, scattering five hits and allowing just two runs. Fazio finished the week with a 1.94 ERA and 17 strikeouts.

CORVIAS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
LAUREN LA TERRA, COLGATE Fr., INF, Scottsdale, Ariz.
La Terra garners her first weekly award after helping the Raiders to a 3-2 week, which included a 2-1 series win over League opponent Holy Cross. The freshman also hit her third collegiate home run in a 7-6 win over Binghamton, where she went 3-for-3 at the plate. La Terra finished the week hitting .455 (5-for-11) that included two doubles and a home run, while scoring three and driving in four.

HONORABLE MENTION

MELANIE RUSSELL, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Sr., P, San Diego, Calif.
Russell's week was highlighted by her performance in the circle against Bucknell on Saturday, as she tossed five scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out eight. The senior finished the week with a 2.71 ERA.

KYLE GRISWOLD, COLGATE So., P, Orange, Calif.
Griswold helped the Raiders earn a pair of wins over Holy Cross, pitching two complete games and allowing just one earned run. After tossing eight innings in the Raiders 2-1 victory, the sophomore went for seven innings to help Colgate to its second shutout of the season, 2-0. Griswold finished the week with a 2.67 ERA.

CHRISTINE CAMPBELL, LEHIGH Jr., P, San Diego, Calif.
Campbell improved to a perfect 6-0 against League opponents after helping the Mountain Hawks to a pair of victories over Army West Point this weekend. In the series finale, the junior came on in relief after just four batters to help Lehigh earn to series victory and game, 6-4. Campbell finished the week with a 2.33 ERA.

M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE MALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
JOHN WESTWOOD, BUCKNELL Sr., Sewickly, Pa.
Westwood placed fifth in the 1,500-meter run at the Bison Outdoor Classic in a time of 3:45.04, which stands 17th in the NCAA East Region this season. It is also the fastest time in the Patriot League this season by nearly a second.

M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE FEMALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
CHRISTINE BENDZINSKI, BUCKNELL So., Hebron, Conn.
Bendzinski took second place in the 1,500-meter run at the Bison Outdoor Classic as she finished in a time of 4:19.99. The time set both a program and facility record, is the fastest in the Patriot League this season and stands ninth on the leaderboard for the NCAA East Region.

NICHOLAS LOMBARDO, BUCKNELL So., Darien, Conn.
Lombardo took second place in the high jump (2.11 meters) and fourth in the long jump (7.15 meters) at the Bison Outdoor Classic. Both marks surpassed IC4A standards with the high jump tying for 26th place in the NCAA East Region this season.

COURTNEY AVERY, LEHIGH Jr., Wynantskill, N.Y.
Avery won the high jump at the Greyhound Invitational with a mark of 1.77 meters. Her leap places Avery tied for 18th in the event in the NCAA East Region and was the best mark in the Patriot League this season.

M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE MALE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
KORDELL WILLIAMS, NAVY Fr., Upper Marlboro, Md.
Williams had a pair of runner-up finishes at the Charlotte Invitational, doing so individually in the 110-meter hurdles (14.90) and as part of Navy's 4 X 100m relay squad (40.92). Williams' time in the 110-meter hurdles was the best in the Patriot League this season and in the top 50 in the NCAA East Region.

M-F ATHLETIC PATRIOT LEAGUE FEMALE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
CASSIE MUNDEKIS, ARMY WEST POINT Fr., Manito, Ill.
Mundekis took fourth place in the 800-meter at the Bison Outdoor Classic with an ECAC-qualifying time of 2:11.73, and just missed the ECAC mark in the 1,500-meter with a time of 4:35.71.

HONORABLE MENTION

TYLER DAVIS, ARMY WEST POINT So., Cleveland, Tenn.
Davis placed in the top five in both the 100-meter (10.70) and 200-meter (21.97) at the Bison Outdoor Classic with IC4A-qualifying times in each race.

BRIYAH BROWN, ARMY WEST POINT So., New Rochelle, N.Y.
Brown set the school record in the shot put and won the event with a toss of 15.15 meters at the Bison Outdoor Classic, placing her in the top 40 in the NCAA East Region this season.

SOPHIA NNADI, BUCKNELL Sr., Columbus, Ohio
Nnadi hit ECAC-qualifying marks in both the hammer (52.39m) and discus (43.65) at the Bison Outdoor Classic.

ZOE MATHERNE, HOLY CROSS So., Camp Hill, Pa.
Matherne won the 1,500-meter run at the Minuteman Invitational with a time of 4:28.43 to come just shy of the school record.

MATTHEW FAY, BUCKNELL Fr., New Rochelle, N.Y.
Fay won the pole vault with an IC4A-qualifying leap of 4.95 meters at the Bison Outdoor Classic.

BEN BOSWELL, ARMY WEST POINT Fr., Newark, Del.
Boswell ran IC4A-qualifying times in both the 800-meter (1:52.61) and 1,500-meter (3:54.43) at the Bison Outdoor Classic.

ALAELDIN TIRBA, AMERICAN So., Cincinnati, Ohio
Tirba placed third with an IC4A-qualifying time of 1:52.07 in the 800-meter at the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational.

CORVIAS MALE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MICHAEL NGUYEN, ARMY WEST POINT So., San Jose, Calif.
Nguyen helped Army West Point improve to 15-7, 4-0 this season after going 4-0 this weekend against Patriot League opponents Lehigh and Boston University. The sophomore captured a pair of straight-set victories at No. 4 singles, winning 7-5, 7-5 against Lehigh's George Cooper and then 6-2, 6-3 against Boston U.'s Satyajit Simhadri. In both matches, Nguyen partnered with teammate Sam Lampman and first defeated the Mountain Hawks at the second doubles flight 6-3. The duo then added a win against the Terriers at the third doubles flight 6-2. Nguyen is 7-1 when paired with Lampman this spring.

CORVIAS FEMALE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
AMANDA KELLER, NAVY So., Jacksonville, Fla.
Keller earned a pair of wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles this weekend against Patriot League opponents Loyola Maryland and Bucknell to help the Midshipmen hold an advantage over the Bison in the League standings. With teammate Claudia Mackenzie, the pair first defeated the Greyhounds top doubles team 6-4 then added a second win over the Bison's No. 1 duo 7-5. In singles action, Keller captured a pair of straight-set victories, first defeating Loyola's Megan Hahn 6-2, 6-1 and then Bucknell's Maria Cioffi, a 2015 First Team All-League selection, 6-4, 6-2.

JACOB DAUGHERTY, COLGATE So., Burke, Va.
Daugherty captured wins at the top flight in singles and doubles against Binghamton and League opponent Loyola Maryland this weekend and concludes the regular season with a 13-4 singles record and 13-3 doubles record.

REMI RAMOS, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Fr., Parkland, Fla.
After Ramos and partner Lauren Davis bagelled No. 64 Boston College's No. 3 doubles duo, the freshman captured a straight-set victory over Wan-Yi Sweeting at No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-3.
