Patriot League Announces 198 Student-Athletes Named to 2018 Women’s Soccer Academic Honor Roll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. –
The Patriot League’s 10 women’s soccer programs combined to place 198 student-athletes on the 2018 Patriot League Women’s Soccer Academic Honor Roll when the League office released the list on Wednesday.
 
To be eligible for the Fall Academic Honor Roll a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade point average (GPA) in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League’s seven fall championship sports, including men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, football, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball.
 
Loyola Maryland placed a League-high 26 student-athletes on the academic honor roll while Lehigh had 25 make the list. American followed with 22, Holy Cross had 21, while Boston University, Bucknell had 12 followed by Lafayette who had 20. Colgate (17), Army West Point (15) and Navy (11) round out the list of honorees.
 
All 11 members of the 2018 Academic All-Patriot League squad made the honor roll, including the women’s soccer scholar-athlete of the year, Navy junior goalie Sydney Fortson.
 
The 10 women’s soccer programs also placed 21 of the 33 2018 All-Patriot League first-, second- and third-team selections on the academic honor roll, including offensive player of the year Yari Bradfield (American, Sr., Forward), midfielder of the year Mara Consentino (Colgate, Jr., Midfielder) and goalkeeper of the year Kelly Chiavaro (Colgate, Jr., Goalkeeper).
 
27 student-athletes earned a 4.0 GPA during the fall semester, with six coming from American, including sophomore Victoria Kent, junior Amy Krotine, senior Maddie Light, rookie Olivia Mahony, senior Gabriela Maldonado, and junior Victoria Mattson. Army West Point sophomore Sydney Cassalia, sophomore Reilly McGinnis and freshman Gilligan Schiffer, Bucknell senior Carly Baggott, freshman Raegan Dunwoodie and senior Melissa MacPherson, and Colgate senior Martina Loncar all produced a 4.0. Rounding out the list of 4.0 GPAs were Holy Cross sophomore Jenna Barnes, junior Cassandra Cheeseman and junior Bridgette Dwyer, Lafayette freshmen Sophia Hudson and Julia Moran and sophomores Krista Kissell and Clare Mengel, Lehigh junior Annika Jansa and senior Kylie Ginsberg, Loyola Maryland freshman Grace Li and senior Jourdan Ziff, and Navy freshman Victoria Tran, sophomore Molly Swiger and junior Cadie Higginson.
