CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Boston University senior forward Max Mahoney received Patriot League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week and Lehigh freshman guard Evan Taylor claimed rookie of the week honors when the League office announced weekly accolades on Monday.
Mahoney captured his second career Patriot League Player of the Week honor and first of the season after averaging 20.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.5 blocked shots per game while shooting at a 71 percent (17-for-24) clip in wins against Lehigh (84-67) and Army West Point (81-59) last week.
Taylor picked up his first weekly honor by contributing 13.5 points on 50 percent (9-for-18) shooting from the floor and 7.0 rebounds per game to help the Mountain Hawks split two games last week, including an 82-73 victory over American on Saturday.
Bucknell junior forward John Meeks, Colgate sophomore guard Nelly Cummings, Lehigh senior guard Jordan Cohen and Navy junior guard Cam Davis each received an honorable mention for their performances last week.
The Patriot League men’s basketball players of the week are selected in a vote by League media members and each school’s sports information director, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

PATRIOT LEAGUE MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Max Mahoney, Boston University, Sr., F, Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge
*Mahoney averaged 20.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.5 blocked shots per game while shooting at a 71 percent (17-for-24) clip in wins against Lehigh (84-67) and Army West Point (81-59) last week.
*The senior forward recorded a double-double with 23 points and a career-high 15 rebounds to go along with six assists and two steals in the Terriers’ win over the Mountain Hawks.
*Mahoney finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and a career-high eight assists in BU’s win against the Black Knights on Saturday.
PATRIOT LEAGUE MEN’S BASKETBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

*Taylor averaged 13.5 points on 50 percent (9-for-18) shooting from the floor while pulling down 7.0 rebounds per game to help the Mountain Hawks split two games with an 82-73 victory over American on Saturday.
*The freshman forward scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds against Boston University on Wednesday.
*He finished with 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting and finished with a career-high eight rebounds in 25 minutes against the Eagles. Taylor scored eight points during a 12-0 run that helped Lehigh extend its lead in the win.

*Meeks averaged 18.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals while shooting 65 percent (13-for-20) from the field during Bucknell’s 1-1 week that included a 75-60 win over Holy Cross.
*The junior forward scored 13 of his 19 points in the second half to help the Bison close out the Crusaders.
Nelly Cummings, Colgate, So., G, Midland, Pa./Lincoln Park
*Cummings led Colgate with 17.7 points on 47 percent (9-for-19) shooting from beyond the arc in a 3-0 week that included wins against Army West Point (70-65), Loyola Maryland (92-70) and Navy (70-63).
*He scored a career-high 24 points, including 19 in the second half against the Black Knights.
Jordan Cohen, Lehigh, Sr., G, Tarzana, Calif./Campbell Hall
*Cohen averaged 22.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 3.0 steals during a 1-1 week for Lehigh that included an 82-73 win over American on Saturday night.
*The senior guard finished with 25 points and eight rebounds while tying a career-high with eight assists against the Eagles.
Cam Davis, Navy, Jr., G, Battlefield, Mo./Kickapoo
*Davis averaged 21.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game to lead the Midshipmen to a 1-1 week that included a 60-56 win against Bucknell on Wednesday. The junior guard’s 3-pointer with 27 seconds remaining against the Bison broke a tie game, before going 2-for-2 from the free-throw line to seal the victory.
*Davis is averaging 19.5 points per game in four League games, the best mark in the Patriot League.
