The 2021 Patriot League Basketball Plan
The 10 League institutions are divided into three regional mini-conferences (North, South and Central). The North Division includes Army West Point, Boston University, Colgate, and Holy Cross, and the South Division consists of American, Loyola Maryland, and Navy, while Bucknell, Lafayette and Lehigh make up the Central Division.
Teams will play four games against each mini-conference opponent with additional League games played outside of the mini-conferences to complete the 16-game regular-season schedule. The final day of the regular season is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 28.
Navy’s Women’s Basketball Games vs. Loyola Maryland Postponed (1.5.21)
The Patriot League women’s basketball games between Navy and Loyola Maryland scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 9 and Sunday Jan. 10 have been postponed as the Navy women’s basketball program remains in quarantine protocol due to a positive COVID-19 test within their Tier 1.
The contests between the Mids and Greyhounds will be rescheduled following discussions with the two schools and the League office. Navy’s opening weekend games against Bucknell had been previously postponed with rescheduled dates and times to be announced at a later date.

NEW YORK – Dave Magarity has coached more than 1,000 games in his 40-plus years in men’s and women’s basketball. None have been like the two games he has this weekend when Army faces Holy Cross. Standing on the other sideline will be his daughter, Maureen, who took over the program this year after spending the last decade at New Hampshire. It’s believed to be the first coaching matchup of a father and daughter in Division I history.
