Patriot League Announces Women’s Soccer Postseason Awards (10.29.21)

BETHLEHEM, Pa — Boston University earned two of the six women's soccer major awards while Bucknell, Colgate, Loyola Maryland, and Navy each claimed one honor, when the League office announced its postseason honors on Friday.
 
Boston U senior defender Jenna Oldham was named defensive player of the year, while head coach Nancy Feldman earned coach of the year honors.
Bucknell junior forward Rylee Donaldson nabbed offensive player of the year, Colgate senior midfielder Hannah Pinkus received midfielder of the year, and Loyola junior goalkeeper Paige Sim was named goalkeeper of the year.

Navy freshman forward Alexa Riddle rounded out the major awards as the rookie of the year.
 
Eleven student-athletes were named to both the all- Patriot League first- and third-teams, while the second-team is comprised of 12 student-athletes.

BU led the way with eight overall all-League selections each, followed by Navy (6) and Bucknell and Lehigh (5). Colgate and Loyola both placed three student-athletes on the teams, and American and Army West Point each earned two honorees.
 
The major awards and All-Patriot League teams were voted on by the 10 Patriot League women's soccer head coaches, who could not vote for their student-athletes or themselves.
 
2021 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year
Rylee Donaldson, Bucknell, Jr., F, Allentown, Pa./Salisbury
* Donaldson capped the regular season with a League-leading 10 goals and one assist for a team-leading 21 points.
* Donaldson netted the game-winning goal in overtime on Wednesday night to help the Bison earn the fourth seed in the 2021 Patriot League Women’s Soccer Championship.
* Her 21 points rank second this season in the League while her four game-winning goals are tied for first.
* In 38 career appearances for Bucknell, the junior has scored 11 goals and dished out two assists for 24 points.

2021 Patriot League Midfielder of the Year
Hannah Pinkus, Colgate, Sr., M, Manchester, Vt./Burr and Burton Academy
* Pinkus finished the regular season with six goals, four assists and 16 points in 15 games played.
* Pinkus’ 16 points are good for fourth this season in the Patriot League while her six goals are tied for fourth.
* The senior received Patriot League Women’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week twice this season (August 30; September 27).
* Pinkus was named to the All-Patriot League First Team in 2020-21 and the second team in 2019.

2021 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year
Jenna Oldham, Boston University, Sr., D, Lithia, Fla./Newsome
* Oldham helped back the Terrier defense, which held opponents to 1.22 goals per game as BU went 6-1-2 in League play this season.
* The senior defender aided in the team’s six shutouts (tied for second in the League) on the year.
* Offensively, the senior tallied four goals and a team-high seven assists.
* Oldham received First Team All-League honors following the Spring 2021 season.
 
2021 Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year
Paige Sim, Loyola Maryland, Jr., GK, Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista
* In 17 games in goal this season, Sim collected 75 saves for a .824 save percentage and posted a 0.90 goals-against average for the Greyhounds.
* The junior owns a 17-9-10 record, 146 saves and 15 shutouts, to go along with a .844 save percentage and a 0.69 goals-against average in 37 career appearances.
* Sim was named to the All-Patriot League Third Team in the Spring of 2021 and to the Second Team in 2019.
 
2021 Patriot League Rookie of the Year
Alexa Riddle, Navy, Fr., F, Tomball, Texas/Tomball Memorial
* Riddle capped her freshman season with a team-leading nine goals (three game-winners) and five assists for a League-leading 23 points, as she appeared in 19 contests.
* Her goals tally is second in the League this year.
* Riddle was named both offensive player and rookie of the week on October 18 as she tallied both of the Mids' goals against the Eagles on Wednesday in a 2-0 victory before she led off the weekend game versus the Black Knights with a goal in the 15th minute.
* She was named offensive player of the week the following week (October 25) after scoring the game-winning tally in the 1-0 win against Holy Cross.

2021 Patriot League Coach of the Year
Nancy Feldman, Boston University
* Feldman led the Terriers to a 6-1-2 record in Patriot League play and the regular-season title.
* In her 27th year at the helm, she also guided the team to the No. 1 seed in the 2021 Women’s Soccer Patriot League Championship.
* Feldman is now a three-time Patriot League coach of the year (2013, ’18, ’21).
