BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lafayette claimed two of the four Patriot League Field Hockey weekly awards when the League office announced honors on Monday. American and Lehigh each received one accolade.
Lafayette junior forward Felicitas Hannes was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week after recording her first collegiate hat trick in the Leopards’ 5-1 win over Colgate. Leopards’ junior defender Simone Hefting earned Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honors after Lafayette held the Raiders and Fairfield to a combined 12 shots while totaling three assists.
American sophomore goalkeeper Bryn Underwood collected Patriot League Goalkeeper after making four saves in the Eagles’ 3-2 win over Bucknell to remain unbeaten in League play.
Lehigh freshman defender Guusje Hogendoorn received Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor after helping the Mountain Hawks to a pair of wins with dominant defensive performances.
American graduate student midfielder Noor Coenen, senior defender Georgia Davies, Boston University junior defender Rachel Borzymowski, Holy Cross sophomore forward Sarah Potter, Lehigh graduate student midfielder Lenke Havas, junior goalkeeper Maddie Kahn and senior midfielder Leah Mullery all collected honorable mentions for their performances last week.

PATRIOT LEAGUE FIELD HOCKEY OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Felicitas Hannes, Lafayette, Jr., Forward, Cologne, Germany/Irmgardis Gymnasium
*Hannes recorded her first collegiate hat trick in the Leopards’ 5-1 victory over Colgate to improve to 2-1 in League play.
*The junior forward scored the Leopards’ second, third and fourth goals of the game. She scored in the second and third quarters before the Raiders scored their lone goal in the third. She added one more goal in the fourth quarter.
*Hannes is fourth in the Patriot League in goals (7) and sixth in points (15).
PATRIOT LEAGUE FIELD HOCKEY DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Simone Hefting, Lafayette, Jr., Defender, Den Bosch, Netherlands/Stedelijk Gymnasium Den Bosch
*Hefting anchored a Lafayette defense to an undefeated week while holding Colgate and Fairfield to a combined 12 shots.
*She had one assist and helped the Leopards’ defense hold Colgate to five shots with just two on goal. The Raiders did not manage a shot in the first half in Lafayette’s 5-1 win.
*Hefting assisted both of the Leopards’ goals while leading a defense that held the Stags to just three shots on goal.
PATRIOT LEAGUE FIELD HOCKEY GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Bryn Underwood, American, So., Goalkeeper, Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson
*Underwood made four saves to lead American to a 3-2 win over Bucknell on Saturday to improve to 2-0 in League play.
*The sophomore goalkeeper made a pair of saves in the final eight minutes of the game, including a save on a penalty corner with 2:33 remaining in regulation to preserve the Eagles’ 3-2 win over the Bison.
*Underwood leads the League with 47 saves and a .758 save percentage.
PATRIOT LEAGUE FIELD HOCKEY ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Guusje Hogendoorn, Lehigh, Fr., Defender, Apeldoorn, Netherlands/Gymnasium Apeldoorn
*Hogendoorn played a vital role in a Lehigh defense that allowed one goal on a combined 13 shots (four on goal) in victories over Holy Cross and Merrimack.
*The Mountain Hawks’ defense did not allow a shot on goal in their 5-0 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday.
*She helped Lehigh limit the Warriors to one goal on nine shots in a 4-1 win on Sunday.

*Coenen contributed two assists in American’s 3-2 victory over Bucknell. Her two assists were a season-high and tied her career-high.

*Davies helped the Eagles’ defense hold Bucknell to nine shots, six on goal, in their 3-2 win to improve to 2-0 in League play. American’s defense only allowed two shots in the first half, as the Eagles built a 3-0 lead.

*Borzymowski scored her first collegiate goal in the Terriers’ loss to Maine on Sunday. She also led a corner defense that did not allow a shot on any of the Black Bears’ eight first-half corners.

*Potter posted a career-high five points on two goals and one assist in Holy Cross’s 5-2 win over Merrimack on Tuesday.

*Havas helped the Mountain Hawks go 2-0 last week with wins over Holy Cross (5-0) and Merrimack (4-1). The Mountain Hawks’ defense held Holy Cross without a shot on goal before limiting Merrimack to nine shots with just four on goal.

*Kahn recorded a shutout against Holy Cross, then made four saves and allowed one goal in Lehigh’s 4-1 win over Merrimack.

*Mullery scored two goals in Lehigh’s 5-0 victory over Holy Cross to help the Mountain Hawks improve to 3-0 in League play. Lehigh posted its largest margin of victory over the Crusaders in series history.
