BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced the hiring of Justin Jenkins as Associate Director for Championships and Business Operations. Jenkins joins the League office staff after spending four years as a men’s basketball student-athlete at Gardner-Webb University.
In his new role, Jenkins will be responsible for assisting with the planning and administration of League championships. He will also maintain and monitor day-to-day office operations, assist with the management of daily business and financial operations and provide support and general administrative assistance.
“Justin’s leadership as a Division I student-athlete, his work as a Presidential Associate at Gardner-Webb and his academic achievements are evidence of his commitment to excellence,” Patriot League Commissioner Jennifer Heppel said. “We are excited to welcome him to the Patriot League.”
"It is an honor to have the opportunity to serve the Patriot League as the Associate Director of Championships and Business Operations,” Jenkins said. “As a former student-athlete, I have always had a deep love for sports. I also have a strong passion for serving others. This role will allow me to combine two very important areas of my life into something that is truly a dream come true. I am looking forward to working alongside the League and institutional staff to play a part in ensuring the success of student-athletes on and off of their respective playing fields."
Before joining the League office staff, Jenkins spent one year as an assigned recruiter for Aerotek, a leading recruitment and staffing agency. At Aerotek, Jenkins was responsible for full-cycle recruiting, specifically within the field of banking and financial services, where he worked directly with hiring managers.
In addition to being a four-year letter winner on the men’s basketball team, Jenkins served as a Presidential Associate of the University for four years on campus, beginning as a sophomore. In this role, he worked with the Office of the President and the Office of Advancement to host exclusive guests of the University at events and special occasions. He also worked closely with the local community, communicating with Cleveland County leaders to find ways to increase local involvement in sporting events at the University.
A native of Knoxville, Tenn., Jenkins graduated from Gardner-Webb in May 2019 with a bachelor of arts in psychology and an MBA in May 2020.
