Patriot League Announces Swimmers and Divers of the Week (3.9.21)

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Loyola Maryland earned all four of this week’s Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving awards when the League office announced winners on Tuesday.

Greyhounds’ junior Reid Hussey earned Patriot League Male Swimmer of the Week, freshman Lily Mead was named female swimmer of the week, freshman Dan Faunce earned male diver of the week, and junior Jessica Stolfi rounded out the awards as female diver of the week.
 
MALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Reid Hussey, Loyola Maryland, Jr., Severna Park, Md.
* Hussey contributed to three victories for the Loyola men’s swim team, who won all 12 events in Saturday’s dual against American.
* The junior broke a two-year old school record in the 100 IM (50.93) while winning the race by more than two seconds.
* Hussey added a season-best time of 50.22 in the 100 backstroke, which ranks fourth in the Patriot League this season.
* He also contributed to Loyola’s first-place 200-free relay team, completing his leg in 20.39.

FEMALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Lily Mead, Loyola Maryland, Fr., Timonium, Md.

* Mead won two events and added a runner-up finish for the Loyola women in the team’s 146-70 win over American in Saturday’s dual.
* With a time of 57.88, Mead earned first in the 100 IM by more than two seconds, and added a season-best mark in the 100 butterfly (56.25), which ranks 11th in the Patriot League.
* The freshman’s 100 breaststroke time of 1:05.06, is a season-best and also ranks 11th in the League.
 
MALE DIVER OF THE WEEK
Dan Faunce, Loyola Maryland, Fr., West Chester, Pa.
* Faunce recorded season-best scores in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives against American.
* He placed first in the 1-meter with a score of 212.47 and won the 3-meter competition with a score of 198.60.
 
FEMALE DIVER OF THE WEEK
Jessica Stolfi, Loyola Maryland, Jr., Newtown, Conn.
* Stolfi beat out four other divers in the 1-meter, and bested a pair of teammates in the 3-meter for a pair of first-place finishes versus American.
* She earned a score of 193.65 in the 1-meter dive and a score of 201.44 in the 3-meter dive.
