BOSTON – Top seed and host Boston University and No. 2 Lehigh advance to the Patriot League Softball Championship on Saturday at the BU Softball Field in Boston, Mass. Coverage on
ESPN+ begins at noon.
The two teams move on to the title game after wins in Friday’s second round, as Boston U. defeated Lehigh, 9-1, while Lehigh downed Colgate, 4-3, to eliminate the Raiders from the tournament.
If Boston University wins Saturday’s first game, they will claim their third consecutive Patriot League title. If Lehigh is victorious in the noon game, the Terriers and Mountain Hawks will square off in the championship game at 2:30 p.m. Lehigh (2015, 2017) and Boston University (2014, 2016, 2018, 2019) have captured the past six Patriot League softball crowns.
The winner will receive the League’s automatic berth to the NCAA Softball Tournament and will learn their opponent during the selection show on Sunday, May 16 at 9 p.m. on ESPN2.

BOSTON – The Terriers advanced to the title game on Sunday with a five-inning 9-1 victory over Lehigh on Friday morning.
* BU scored four runs in the bottom of the first half for an early lead.
* Junior outfielder Emily Gant crossed home plate three times, while sophomore infielder Caitlin Coker and freshman outfielder Lauren Keleher both scored twice. Senior outfielder Jen Horita, junior catcher Nicole Amodio and junior outfielder Aliyah Huerta-Leipner all chipped in one run for BU
* Senior Ali DuBois recorded her 24th win of the season with five strikeouts in five innings.
* With the win today, Boston tied its own Patriot League record in consecutive victories in a season with 17. The Terriers set the record earlier this season before their loss to Army on March 9.
* Lehigh freshman outfielder Bella Egizio scored the lone run for the Mountain Hawks.
* Junior pitcher Gabriella Nori took the loss for Lehigh after giving five runs and striking out one.

* Colgate sophomore utility player Adrienne Nardone, sophomore outfielders Steph Jacoby and Taylor Ludwick, and freshman infielder Elizabeth Nitka all scored one run for the Raiders.
* Sophomore pitcher Bailey Misken earned the win for Colgate allowing one run and two hits.
* Army West Point freshman pitcher Alicyn Grete allowed just three hits and struck out five batters.
* Grete also scored a pair of runs
, including an inside-the-park home run.
* Freshman infielder Angelina Bebek recorded her fourth home run of the season in the bottom of the fifth inning.

BOSTON – The Lehigh Mountain Hawks earned a 4-3 win over No. 3 Colgate on Friday afternoon to move on to the title game on Sunday.
* Sophomore infielder Emily Cimino went 3-for-4 at the plate including four RBIs, one run scored and one home run.
* Cimino hit a two-run double to push the tying and go-ahead runs across home plate for Lehigh. Cimino also recorded her third home run of the season in the top of the fifth.
* Junior infielder Carley Barjaktarovich, sophomore infielder Josie Charles and freshman utility player Ansley Dambach each scored one run for the Mountain Hawks.
* Nori earned her ninth win of the season in the circle as she allowed three runs on eight hits.
* Colgate’s Nikta, Jacoby and senior infielder Christiana Cottrell scored one run.
* Graduate student catcher Virginia Irby hit a double in the bottom of the fifth plating three runs.
* Colgate senior pitcher Bella Crow took the loss giving up three runs while striking out three.
