Lehigh and Loyola Maryland Advance to 2021 Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Championship Game (5.7.21)

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The overall top seed Lehigh and Loyola Maryland advanced to the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Championship Game on Sunday at noon at Ulrich Sports Complex in Bethlehem, Pa.
 
The Mountain Hawks earned a 13-9 win over Colgate, while the Greyhounds defeated Army West Point 11-10.
 
Television coverage of Sunday’s championship game will begin at noon on CBS Sports Network.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh Mountain Hawks advanced to the title game after a 13-9 win over Colgate in the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Semifinals.
* Sophomore attack Christian Mule’ and sophomore attack John Sidorski led Lehigh with three goals each. Sidorski also dished a trio of assists.
* Sophomore attack Justin Tiernan scored two goals while junior attack Tommy Schelling, junior attack Cole Kirst, graduate student midfielder Crew Cintron, junior attack Matt Marker and freshman attack Quinn Armstrong all contributed one goal.
* Junior faceoff specialist Mike Sisselberger went 18-for-25 at the ‘X’ and collected 14 ground balls.
* Senior goalkeeper James Spence made nine saves in goal for Lehigh.
* Senior attack James Caddigan, freshman midfielder Jacob Sposita and Marshall Terres paced Colgate with two goals apiece.
* Senior attack Mike Hawkins, junior midfielder Ryan Decker and sophomore faceoff specialist Thomas Colucci all chipped in one goal.
* Junior attack Brian Minicus had four assists while Colucci and senior defender Owen Callahan both collected four ground balls.
* Junior goalkeeper Sean Collins finished the game with eight saves.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Eight Loyola Maryland student-athletes recorded goals in the team’s 11-10 victory versus Army West Point in the League’s semifinals on Friday night.
*Greyhounds’ graduate student midfielder Peter Swindell (2), senior attack Aidan Olmstead (2), junior midfielder Riley Seay (2), senior attack Kevin Lindley (1), graduate student midfielder Matt Higgins (1), senior midfielder Dan Wigley (1), sophomore midfielder Evan James (1), and sophomore midfielder Adam Poitras (1) all scored in the win.
* Lindley and Poitras both added a pair of assists.
* Senior faceoff specialist Bailey Savio and graduate student long-stick midfielder Ryan McNulty led the team in ground balls with six apiece.
* Senior goalkeeper Sam Shafer made 12 saves for a .545 save percentage for the Greyhounds.
* Army junior attack Brendan Nichtern found the back of the net three times to go along with three assists.
* Junior attack Aidan Byrnes and senior midfielder Nickolas Edinger scored two goals each, while junior midfielder Bobby Abshire, junior midfielder Danny Kielbasa and sophomore midfielder Jacob Morin all contributed one for the Black Knights.
* Junior goalkeeper Wyatt Schupler had 12 saves in goal for Army.
