BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Lafayette collected three of the five Patriot League Men’s Soccer weekly awards, while American and Navy took home the remaining two awards, as the League announced honors on Monday.
Navy sophomore forward Sidney Paris earned offensive player of the week honors, while American freshman goalkeeper Dominic Dominguez was named rookie of the week.
Lafayette junior midfielder Yiannis Panayides collected midfielder of the week honors while teammate freshman defender Eoin Martin was named defensive player of the week.
Lafayette senior goalkeeper Alex Sutton rounded out the awards as the goalkeeper of the week.
American senior midfielder Jerry Zouantcha, Army West Point sophomore Colman Kim and senior goalkeeper Jacob Suppiah, Lafayette junior midfielder Benji Grossi and Navy senior goalkeeper Tyler Fahning each earned honorable mention laurels.

Offensive Player of the Week

* Paris helped lead the team to a 3-0 win over Colgate Saturday in its lone contest last week.
* The sophomore forward tallied a goal and an assist against the Raiders, marking the second time in three games Paris has recorded a score while assisting on another.
* On the season, Paris leads the Midshipmen offense in points (9), assists (3) while being tied for the team lead in goals (3).
Midfielder of the Week
Yiannis Panayides, Lafayette, Jr., M, Larnaca, Cyprus/American Academy
* Panayides netted the game-winner in the 91st minute in Lafayette’s 1-0 win over Boston U on Saturday for the Leopards’ first Patriot League victory of the season.
* The junior’s goal was his second of the season and sixth of his career.
Defensive Player of the Week
Eoin Martin, Lafayette, Fr., D, Mahopus, N.Y./Mahpoac
* Martin was part of a Lafayette defense that allowed just one goal on the week and recorded a second-straight Patriot League shutout.
* The freshman started in both games, playing all 90 minutes of game action in the Leopards 3-1 win over Saint Peter’s on Tuesday and all 90 minutes of regulation plus overtime.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Alex Sutton, Lafayette, Sr., GK, New York, N.Y./High School for Math, Science and Engineering
* Sutton recorded two wins on the week in a 3-1 win over Saint Peter’s on Tuesday and a 1-0 overtime-win over Boston U in Patriot League play on Saturday.
* The senior tallied three saves in the win on Tuesday, followed by five saves and his 19th career shutout on Saturday over Boston U.
* Sutton’s shutout was his second-straight over Patriot League opponents so far this season.
Rookie of the Week
Dominic Dominguez, American, Fr., GK, Jacksonville, Fla./Atlantic Coast
* Dominguez picked up four saves in his first collegiate start and shut out Lehigh 2-0.
* His efforts led to the first clean sheet of the season for the Eagles. The last time American shutout an opponent also came against Lehigh on March 6, 2021.
Honorable Mentions
Jerry Zouantcha, American, Sr., M, Yaounde, Cameroon/Northwest
* Zouantcha scored in the 60th minute to ensure American’s 2-0 win over Lehigh on Saturday. His performance helped the Eagles to their first conference win of the season.
Colman Kim, Army West Point, So., M, Shelton, Conn./Shelton
* The sophomore midfielder scored the eventual game-winning goal for Army in a 2-1 victory at Bucknell. Kim’s goal came off an Army corner kick that was deflected into his right foot to help give the Black Knights the lead.
Jacob Suppiah, Army West Point, Sr., GK, Memphis, Tenn./Memphis University School
* Suppiah earned three saves in the Black Knight’s 2-1 win at Bucknell. The senior now has three wins on the season.
Benji Grossi, Lafayette, Jr., M, Pembroke Pines, Fla./American Heritage School
* Grossi recorded a goal and an assist in the Leopards; 3-1 win over Saint Peter’s on Tuesday. The junior assisted on the Leopards first goal of the game in the 12th minute and then scored the second goal, the eventual game-winner, in the 21st minute of action.
Tyler Fahning, Navy, Sr., GK, Victoria, Minn./Minnetonka
* Fahning recorded his fifth shutout of the season, picking up two saves in the three-score win for the Midshipmen over the Raiders. On the season, the senior goalkeeper has yielded just four scores while recording 23 saves along with his five clean sheets through eight contests.
