BALTIMORE – Graduate student forward Matt Rogers and senior guard Elijah Stephens scored 19 points apiece to lead American to a 73-54 road victory over Loyola Maryland at Reitz Arena on Monday night.
*American claimed its first League road win of the season by taking advantage of 14 Greyhounds’miscues, running up a 20-5 advantage in points off turnovers and an 18-0 lead in fastbreak points.
*Rogers scored 11 points during a 20-2 run to end the first half, sending the Eagles into the break with a 39-19 cushion, a lead they built to as many as 30 points in the second half.  
*Stephens shot 8-of-12 from the floor, including 3-of-4 from long distance to finish one point shy of his season-high. He also dished out a team-high five assists to become the 26th Patriot League men’s basketball student-athlete to eclipse 400 career assists.  
*Sophomore guard Matt Mayock chipped in 11 points, three rebounds and three steals for American.
*The Eagles connected on 50 percent (28-of-56) from the field, making 10-of-23 from 3-point range.
*Greyhounds’ sophomore guard Jordan Stiemke scored a team-high 11 points, while senior forward Milos Ilic added nine points, three rebounds and two assists.
*Senior forward Veljko Ilic added eight points, four rebounds and three assists for Loyola.
