BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Army West Point women and Navy’s men won the team titles at the 2025 Patriot League Cross Country Championships hosted by Lehigh University at the Goodman Family Cross Country Course.
The Black Knights placed four runners in the top five to earn their third consecutive women’s title, while the Navy men earned their fifth consecutive Patriot League crown. The Midshipmen placed five finishers in the top ten to claim their 13th overall title.
Army West Point’s Charlotte Richman earned the individual women’s title, with a 6K time of 20:19.4. She was named the Patriot League Women’s Outstanding Performer of the Meet following the championship. It is the second career victory at the League Championship for Richman, who won the 2022 individual title as a freshman.
American University freshman Shealyn Brochu finished 14th with a time of 21:21.5 to earn Patriot League Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Meet. She is the first American runner to earn Rookie of the Meet honors in women’s cross country since the award was established in 2004.
Navy’s Justin Mumford won the men’s race to collect Patriot League Men’s Outstanding Performer of the Meet by finishing the 8K course in 23:59.0. He is the third consecutive Mid to claim the individual title. Fellow Midshipman Luke Bowlsby finished 23rd overall with a time of 25:16.0 to earn Patriot League Men’s Rookie of the Meet honors.
The Army West Point coaching staff, led by Mike Smith, was voted the Patriot League Women’s Cross Country Coaching Staff of the Year after leading the program to their third straight title and its eighth overall. Navy’s coaching staff, led by Aaron Lanzel, collected Patriot League Men’s Cross Country Coaching Staff of the Year honors after guiding the Mids to their 13th League cross country title.

Women’s 6K Championship Recap
The Army West Point (21) women’s cross country team won its eighth Patriot League title, claiming consecutive championships for the first time since winning four straight between 1995-1997. The Black Knights placed four runners in the top five led by individual champion Charlotte Richman (20:19.4) and the trio of Mikayla Cheney (20:48.4), Louisa Diamond (20:53.4) and Alma Lazo Cazares (21:04.1) who finished third through fifth, respectively.
Bucknell (48) and Navy (99) placed second and third in the final team standings. The Bison were led by sophomore Shaelan McNally (20:39.8), who finished as the runner-up and junior Kailey Granger (21:05.5), who logged a sixth-place finish. Navy’s Jane Phillips (21:15.2) was the lone Mid in the top-10, finishing ninth.
Boston University (120) posted a fourth-place team finish, while host Lehigh (136) placed fifth. Lafayette (193), American (199), Holy Cross (203), Colgate (232) and Loyola Maryland (293) rounded out the women’s team standings.

Army West Point (49) finished second in the team standings, paced by runner-up Anthony Diaz (24:19.8), while American University (116), led by Kaden Kluth (24:25.6), logged their highest finish since 2013 in third place. Holy Cross’ Joseph Mahon (24:23.5) claimed a third-place finish and earned First Team All-Patriot League honors.
Boston University (117) logged a fourth-place team finish, trailed closely by Bucknell (135) in fifth. Colgate (148), Holy Cross (158), Lehigh (191), Lafayette (248) and Loyola Maryland (296) rounded out the men’s team standings.
