GEORGETOWN’S GAME-WINNING HAIL MARY EARNS CHEEZ-IT CRUNCH TIME PLAY OF THE WEEK
Georgetown Sr. QB Dez Thomas II’s 49-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass to Sr. WR Jimmy Kibble as time expired in the Hoyas’ 27-24 win over Morgan State received the Cheez-It Crunch Time Play of the Week, as selected by the All-America Committee of the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA). The Hoyas, trailing 24-21 with 1:25 remaining in the game, forced a turnover on downs and scored the game-winning touchdown in highlight-reel fashion. It was the second food-sponsored “play of the week” claimed by a League team in the last two seasons. Fordham’s Trey Bradford and Alex Kemper received the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week on Nov. 18, 2024, for the “pulled hammy pick-six.”

FORDHAM’S CONWAY CLOSING IN ON FCS TACKLES RECORD
Fordham Sr. LB James Conway recorded 11 tackles in the Rams’ loss at Lafayette (Oct. 4), to close to within 28 tackles of matching Illinois State’s Boomer Grigsby for the FCS career tackles record. Conway, the Patriot League career tackles leader, became the first League student-athlete to surpass 500 total tackles and just the fifth FCS player since 2000 to eclipse the milestone. He has recorded 86 tackles in six games to lead the FCS with 14.3 tackles per game. He has amassed more than 100 total tackles in three of his four collegiate seasons. He opened the 2025 campaign on the Buck Buchanan Award Watch List. Conway earned Stats Perform National FCS Defensive Player of the Week for his 19-tackle performance vs. Holy Cross (Sept. 27).

EIGHT NAMED CAMPBELL TROPHY SEMIFINALISTS
Eight Patriot League football student-athletes are among the 178 semifinalists (45 from the FCS) for the William V. Campbell Trophy, presented annually to college football’s top scholar-athlete. This is the 36th year the Campbell Trophy, regarded as the “Academic Heisman”, has been awarded to recognize the best football scholar-athlete in the nation for combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.

YODER, EDWARDS, GREEN AMONG FCS RUSHING LEADERS
Lehigh’s running backs Luke Yoder (Jr.) and Jaden Green (So.) are first and third in the League and seventh and 20th in the FCS in rushing yards per game through six weeks. Yoder rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, while Green carried 14 times for 67 yards in a 31-13 win vs. Yale on Oct. 4. The duo has led the Mountain Hawks to the fifth-ranked rushing offense (243.8) in the FCS. Lafayette Jr. RB Kente Edwards, a three-time Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, missed the Leopards’ game vs. Fordham, but still ranks sixth in the FCS with 117.0 rushing yards per game. He is second in the nation with 10 rushing touchdowns. Edwards posted three straight weeks (9.6-9.19) with three or more rushing scores and has helped the Leopards rank fourth in the FCS with 18 rushing touchdowns.

FOUR LEAGUE RECEIVERS AMONG FCS TOP 15
Colgate Sr. WR Treyvhon Saunders ranks atop the FCS receiving yards leaders after a 91-yard, two-touchdown performance vs. Cornell. He became the Raiders’ career receptions leader, moving into a tie for fifth place in Patriot League history (229). Saunders has topped 100 receiving yards in four games. Bucknell Jr. WR Sam Milligan is third in the FCS in receiving yards (601) after an 11-catch, 133-yard day against Richmond. Georgetown Sr. WR Jimmy Kibble climbed to 14th in the FCS with 110 receiving yards vs. Morgan State (Oct. 4). Lehigh Sr. WR Geoffrey Jamiel had consecutive 100-yard receiving performances before missing the Week Six game vs. Yale, to fall to 15th in the FCS in receiving yards.

Three Patriot League RBs are averaging more than 6.0 yards per carry to rank among the FCS Top 10. Lafayette’s Edwards has scored on touchdown runs of 78, 70 and 51 yards this season to average an FCS-leading 8.24 yards per carry. Edwards is second in the FCS with 10 rushing touchdowns. Lehigh’s tandem of Yoder and Green is seventh and 10th, respectively, in yards per carry, helping lead the Mountain Hawks’ explosive run game, which averages 6.0 rushing yards per carry — the ninth-best mark in the FCS.

Georgetown Jr., CB Quincy Briggs and Lehigh So. DB Mekhai Smith have four interceptions apiece to lead the Patriot League and rank tied for fourth in the FCS with 0.67 interceptions per game. Four more League players, including Georgetown’s Bijay Boldin and Colgate’s Trooper Price, Justyn Toler and Tymir Wynn are tied for 20th in the nation with 0.40 INTs per game. Colgate is second in the FCS with 10 interceptions and is sixth with a Patriot League-leading +1.20 turnover margin.

LEHIGH AND COLGATE RANKED IN FCS SCORING TOP 20
Lehigh (33.3) and Colgate (33.0) are 19th and 20th, respectively, in the FCS in scoring offense. The Mountain Hawks’ rushing attack has led the way, ranking fifth in the FCS in rushing offense (243.8), with 15 of its 26 TDs coming on the ground. The Raiders have done it through the air, ranking seventh in the FCS in passing offense (288.4), and tying for seventh in the FCS with 14 passing touchdowns. The Raiders’ 165 points through five games are the most the program has scored since 1998.
DENOBILE AND RUCKER IV ARE HISTORICALLY ACCURATE
Lafayette Sr. QB Dean DeNobile and Bucknell 5th-year QB Ralph Rucker IV are third and fourth, respectively, among current FCS career leaders in completion percentage. DeNobile has completed .659 (504-763) of his pass attempts to rank third in Patriot League history. Rucker has completed .654 (566-866) of his passes to rank fifth in League history. Rucker is also seventh among FCS active leaders in passing efficiency (149.67).

SPATNY THIRD AMONG FCS CAREER SACKS LEADERS
Lehigh Sr. DL Matt Spatny, the Patriot League Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, is third among active FCS leaders in total sacks with 19.5 into his fourth season in Bethlehem, including 1.0 sack vs. Penn in Week Five. Richmond Jr. DL Camden Byrd is tied for 10th among FCS active leaders with 13.5 sacks. He has 4.5 sacks this season to lead the Patriot League.
LEHIGH’S GARRIDO PERFECT IN 2025
Lehigh Sr. PK Nick Garrido has been automatic for the Mountain Hawks through six games. Garrido has connected on all six field-goal attempts to rank tied for first in the FCS in field-goal percentage. He is also 26-for-26 on PATs. Garrido ranks third among active FCS placekickers, making 83.3 percent (20-of-24) of his career field-goal attempts.

Bucknell’s Terian Williams II and Richmond’s Brian Catanzarite are among the nominees for the 2025 AFCA Allstate Good Works Team.
