Patriot League 2025 PenFed Credit Union Men’s Basketball Championship Bracket Determined (3.1.25)

Bucknell and American share regular-season crown; Bison earn No. 1 seed, Eagles will be No. 2 seed

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League men’s basketball regular season concluded on Saturday with Bucknell capturing the No. 1 seed and American earning the No. 2 seed for the 2025 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Men’s Basketball Championship. First-round action of the championship begins on Tuesday, March 4.
 
The Bison and Eagles finished with identical 13-5 League records to share the Patriot League regular-season title, with Bucknell claiming the top seed based on the League’s tiebreaker policy. The Bison earned a share of the regular-season crown for the first time since the 2018-19 season, while the Eagles won a share of the regular-season title for the first time since the 2008-09 season.
 
Bucknell enters the championship as the top seed on a six-game winning streak, including a 94-81 victory at Holy Cross in the regular-season finale. They will host the winner of Tuesday’s first-round matchup featuring No. 9 Lehigh at No. 8 Loyola Maryland (7 p.m., ESPN+).
 
No. 2 American matched a program-best 13 Patriot League victories, having won five of its last seven regular-season contests. They will host the winner of the Tuesday evening game between No. 10 Holy Cross and No. 7 Lafayette (7 p.m., ESPN+).
 
No. 3 Colgate welcomes No. 6 Army West Point, and No. 4 Boston University hosts No. 5 Navy in the quarterfinal round of the 2025 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Men’s Basketball Championship on Thursday, March 6. HAMILTON, N.Y. – Graduate student forward Matt Rogers scored a game-high 20 points to lead American to a 67-59 victory at Colgate to clinch a share of the Patriot League regular-season crown for the first time since the 2008-09 season.
*Rogers shot 8-of-10 from the field, including 4-of-5 from the floor, while grabbing five rebounds in the regular-season finale, as AU picked up their 13th League victory, matching their most in program history with the 2008-08 and 2013-14 seasons.
*Sophomore forward Greg Jones finished with 12 points and six boards on 4-of-7 shooting, while senior guard Elijah Stephens chipped in seven points, five assists and three steals for the Eagles.
*Colgate senior guard Chandler Baker and sophomore guard Parker Jones scored 13 points apiece as the Raiders’ streak of five straight regular-season titles was snapped.
*Sophomore guard Jalen Cox finished with 10 points, four assists and three steals for Colgate.

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Sophomore guard Joshua Ingram recorded his first collegiate double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead five Mountain Hawks in double-figures in an 89-67 victory at Army West Point in the regular-season finale.
*Ingram shot an efficient 8-of-9 from the field to finish one point shy of a career-high. He also grabbed a career-best 12 boards.
*Sophomore guards Cam Gillus and Nasir Whitlock scored 14 points apiece, and senior guard Tyler Whitney-Sidney recorded 12 points, five rebounds and two assists for Lehigh. Gillus and Whitney-Sidney grabbed five rebounds apiece.
*Mountain Hawks’ first-year center Hank Alvey chipped in 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots, helping Lehigh hold a 45-24 advantage on the glass.
*Army West Point senior guard Jalen Rucker finished with a team-high 22 points, along with five rebounds, three steals and two assists.
*Sophomore guard Ryan Curry added 16 points, five assists and three steals, and senior forward AJ Allenspach contributed 15 points and five rebounds.

BOSTON – Sophomore guard Kyrone Alexander’s foul-line jumper with two seconds left in regulation lifted Boston University to a 66-64 victory over Lafayette to finish the regular season 9-0 at Case Gymnasium in League play.
*Alexander finished with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field, including 2-of-2 from deep. Graduate student guard Miles Brewster finished with a team-high 14 points, along with four assists and three steals.
*Freshman center Ben Defty came off the bench to post 11 points and seven rebounds for the Terriers.
*The Leopards were led by freshman guard Alex Chaikin, who finished three points shy of a career-high with 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc.
*Freshman guard Caleb Williams added 15 points and eight boards, while senior center Justin Vander Baan chipped in 11 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four blocked shots.

*Williamson shot 9-of-12 from the field and grabbed seven rebounds, while Bascoe shot 8-of-12, including 3-of-4 from deep to go with six assists.
*Bison senior guard Elvin Edmonds IV and junior forward Ruot Bijiek scored 13 points apiece, with Edmonds dishing out a team-high eight assists and Bijiek grabbing a team-high eight boards.
*Junior guard Achile Spadone added 14 points and five rebounds for the Bison.
*Crusaders’ sophomore guard Joe Nugent and freshman guard Max Green scored 22 points apiece to lead Holy Cross. Green added six assists and five rebounds.
*Senior forward Caleb Kenney added 21 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor while connecting on 11-of-15 from the charity stripe. He added five rebounds, two assists and one blocked shot for Holy Cross.

*Sophomore guard Jordan Pennick posted 18 points, while junior forward Donovan Draper added nine points and a game-high 14 rebounds to help Navy clinch a first-round bye in the Patriot League Championship.
*Mids’ senior guard Lysander Rehnstrom and junior center Aidan Kehoe scored 11 and 10 points, respectively, helping Navy outscored the Greyhounds, 46-29, in the second half.
