BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After clinching the regular-season title, Army West Point claimed three of the six major awards for Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse, as the League office announced the postseason honors on Monday. Boston University, Lafayette and Lehigh all garnered one major award.
Army West Point senior AJ Pilate claimed Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year honors for the third straight season. Senior teammate Jack Eicher was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, while junior Sean Byrne earned Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year recognition.
Lehigh senior Sean Down received Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Faceoff Specialist of the Year honors after leading the League in faceoff win percentage (.636).
Boston University freshman attack Timothy Shannehan was selected Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Year, becoming the second Terrier in program history to earn the honor.
Lafayette head coach Patrick Myers was voted the William Lawson Coach of the Year after leading the Leopards to a 5-3 League record and the No. 3 seed in the Patriot League Championship.
Thirty-two student-athletes were named to the two All-Patriot League Teams, with 16 earning first-team honors and 16 securing a spot on the second team. The Black Knights led the way with nine selections, including seven first-team honorees. Boston University followed with six selections, one of which was on the first team. Lehigh and Colgate each had four players recognized, with the Mountains Hawks placing four on the first team. Bucknell and Navy had three honorees each, Loyola Maryland earned two selections and Lafayette had one representative.
Patriot League men’s lacrosse head coaches voted on the All-League teams and major awards. They were prohibited from voting for their student-athletes or themselves.
2025 Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year
Jackson Eicher, Army West Point, Sr., A, Warrenton, Va./Episcopal
2025 Statistics: 13 GP, 51 G, 28 A, 79 P, .340 SH%, .580 SOG%, 14 GB, 3 CT, 3 GW
*Eicher collected Army West Point’s fourth Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year honor in the last five seasons after recording League highs with 79 points on 51 goals and 28 assists.
*The senior leads the Patriot League in goals per game (3.92) and points per game (6.08), which both rank second in NCAA Division I, while he ranks fourth in assists per game (2.15).
*He earned three Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors this season, giving him five for his career.
*Eicher’s 51 goals are tied for the Army West Point program record for goals in a single season and are tied for the sixth most in a single Patriot League season
2025 Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year

2025 Statistics: 13 GP, 38 GB, 17 CT, 1 G, 3 A
*Pilate is a three-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year and three-time All-Patriot League First Team selection after causing 17 turnovers and scooping up 38 ground balls. He added four points on one goal and three assists.
*He earned Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week twice this season and four times during his career.
*The Massapequa, N.Y. native is the second student-athlete in League history to earn Defensive Player of the Year honors in three consecutive years (Chris Fennell, Navy – 2015-17).
2025 Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Faceoff Specialist of the Year

2025 Statistics: 14 GP, 178-280 FO, .636 FO%, 105 GB
*Dow was named Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Year after posting a 63.6 faceoff percentage (178-of-280) and averaging 7.50 ground balls per game.
*His faceoff percentage and ground balls per game lead the Patriot League.
*He was named the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Faceoff Specialist of the Week three times this year and five times in his career.
*Dow collects Lehigh’s fifth Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Year award since the League introduced the honor in 2016 (Conor Gaffney – 2019, Mike Sisselberger – 2021-23).
2025 Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Year
Sean Byrne, Army West Point, Jr., GK, Acworth, Ga./Allatoona
2025 Statistics: 13 GP, 700:02 MIN., 79 GA, 6.77 GAA, 136 SV, .633 SV%, 35 GB, 8 CT
*Byrne was selected as the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year after finishing with a 6.77 goals-against average and a .633 save percentage.
*The junior leads the Patriot League and NCAA Division I in goals-against average and save percentage, while ranking first among active career leaders with an 8.15 GAA
*The Acworth, Ga. native posted a 7.34 GAA and .603 save percentage in League play, helping him earn three Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week honors this season and six in his career.
2025 Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Year
Timothy Shannehan, Boston University, Fr., A, Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Prep
2025 Statistics: 14 GP, 28 G, 26 A, 54 P, .315 SH%, .618 SOG%, 30 GB
*Shannehan, the second Patriot League Rookie of the Year in Boston University program history, ranked second on the Terriers with 54 points on 28 goals and 26 assists.
*The freshman was tied for seventh in the Patriot League in points per game (3.86) and eighth in assists per game (1.86).
*The Fairfield, Conn. was selected as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week twice this season.
The William Lawson Coach of the Year
Patrick Myers, Lafayette
*Myers guided the Leopards to a 9-5 overall record and a 5-3 mark in League play.
*Lafayette eclipsed the nine-win mark for the first time since 1984, and Friday's victory over Lehigh marked the first time in program history that the Leopards won five conference games in a single season.
*In League play, Myers’ squad ranks fourth in goals-against average (10.88) and sixth in goals per game (11.00).
*Myers collects Lafayette’s third Patriot League Coach of the Year award in program history and the first since 2010.
