Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Semifinal Recap: Greyhounds and Mids Advance to the Title Game

Top-seeded Greyhounds defeated No. 4 Holy Cross; No. 3 Navy downs No. 2 Army West Point

BALTIMORE – No. 1 Loyola Maryland and No. 3 Navy advanced to the 2025 Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Championship Game, presented by Credit Union 1, after winning their semifinal-round matchups at Ridley Athletic Complex on Thursday. The Greyhounds and Mids will meet for the League title for the eighth time in the last 11 seasons.
 
The five-time defending League champion Greyhounds (13-5, 9-0 PL) advanced to the Patriot League Championship Game for the 11th straight season, defeating No. 4 Holy Cross (10-8, 5-4 PL), 21-8, in the first semifinal of the day. Patriot League Attacker of the Year Georgia Latch posted nine points on four goals and five assists, and Midfielder of the Year Chase Boyle finished with seven goals and 12 draw controls.
 
No. 3 Navy (14-5, 7-2 PL) avenged a regular-season loss, defeating No. 2 Army West Point (13-3, 8-1 PL), 18-9, behind a career-high seven points from Emma Kennedy (5g, 2a) and Alyssa Daley’s 13 draw controls. The Mids won 24 of 30 draws to advance to the Patriot League Championship Game for the 13th time in program history.

BALTIMORE, Md. – Patriot League Attacker of the Year Georgia Latch posted a game-high nine points on four goals and five assists and Midfielder of the Year Chase Boyle added seven goals and 12 draw controls to lead No. 1 Loyola Maryland over No. 4 Holy Cross, 21-8, in the first semifinal matchup of the day.
*Boyle’s seven goals finished one shy of the Patriot League Championship single-game mark, while Latch’s five assists were also one short of the championship single-game mark.
*Elisa Faklaris posted four goals, and Mim Suares-Jury added three assists for the Greyhounds.
*Boyle opened the scoring 21 seconds into the game, recording four first-half goals to help the Greyhounds build a 12-1 lead by the 4:52 mark in the second quarter.
*The Crusaders used a 4-0 run between the second quarter and third quarters to pull within seven goals, with four different players finding the back of the net. Ella Kittredge registered one goal and one assist during the run.  
*The Greyhounds responded with a 5-1 run, including three more goals from Boyle to extend its lead to 17-6 with 11:38 remaining in the fourth quarter.
*Holy Cross’ Annabel Brennan and Tory Rider each scored to bring the Crusaders back within 10 goals, but the Greyhounds closed the game on a 4-0 run to seal a 21-8 win.
*Loyola Maryland’s Lauren Spence, the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year, finished with seven saves in the win.
*The Crusaders’ Mackenzie Creagh made 10 saves in the loss after setting the Patriot League Championship single-game record with 19 in their quarterfinal win against Colgate.

BALTIMORE, Md. – Navy’s Emma Kennedy posted a career-high seven points, and Alyssa Daley recorded 13 draw controls to lead No. 3 Navy to an 18-9 victory over No. 2 Army West Point in the second semifinal of the day.
*Kennedy’s seven points and two assists are career highs, while her five goals matched a career-high.
*Daley’s 13 draw controls helped the Mids hold a 24-6 advantage, controlling possession throughout the game.
*Tori DiCarlo and Mikayla Williams both finished with three goals and one assist for the Mids’ offense.
*Army West Point’s Allison Reilly led the Black Knights with seven points on four goals and three assists, while Chloe Garrett added two goals and one assist.
*Navy built a 10-6 first-half advantage, winning 13 of 17 draws, including seven by Daley. Kennedy paced the offense with five points in the first half on three goals and two assists.
* Reilly led the Black Knights with four points on two goals and two assists in the first half, with Garrett adding two goals and one assist.
*The Mids continued to roll in the second half, with DeFabio opening the third quarter with a goal before Kennedy and Lola Leone scored less than a minute apart to extend Navy’s lead to 13-7.
*Reilly managed two more goals for the Black Knights, but the Mids scored five of the last six goals to avenge a regular-season loss to the Black Knights.
*Mids’ goalkeeper Felicia Giglio posted a .500 save percentage with nine saves.
