2025 Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Championship Game Preview: No. 2 Boston University Meets No. 5 Colgate for League Title (5.3.25)

No. 2 Terriers and No. 5 Raiders meet in League title for first time at 11:30 a.m.

WEST POINT, N.Y. – No. 2 Boston University (11-4, 6-2 PL) and No. 5 Colgate (9-7, 4-4 PL) will meet on Sunday, May 4 in the 2025 Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Championship Game at Army West Point’s Michie Stadium.

Live coverage of Sunday’s 2025 Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Championship Game begins at 11:30 a.m. on CBS Sports Network. Dave Ryan and Steve Panarelli will be on the call, with the Patriot League’s Paige Messier reporting from the sideline.

The Terriers and Raiders will play for the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse title for the first time. Boston University, which advanced to the championship game for the third time in the last four seasons, will look to capture their second Patriot League title since joining the League in 2014. Colgate returns to the title game for the sixth time in program history and the first time since 2015, seeking its third championship.

SERIES HISTORY – Boston University and Colgate will meet for the 16th time in series history, with the Terriers owning an 11-4 advantage. The two teams will face off in the Patriot League Championship for the third time, with the series tied at 1-1 following the Terriers’ 18-17 triple-overtime victory in last year’s quarterfinal round.

REGULAR-SEASON MEETING (April 5 – Boston University 14, Colgate 12 - BOX SCORE) – In the regular season finale, Boston University senior attack Jimmy O'Connell collected a career-high eight points on three goals and a career-best five assists to help lead the Terriers to a 14-12 win over Colgate. The Raiders were led by senior attack Rory Connor’s six points on five goals and one assist.
