BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point and Boston University each earned two major awards when the Patriot League announced its postseason softball honors Tuesday. Lehigh claimed one major award.
Army West Point junior infielder Ashton White was named the 2025 Patriot League Softball Player of the Year, while head coach Jen Consaul received Coach of the Year honors after leading the Black Knights to a 16–2 record in League play and their first regular-season title since 2010.
For the second straight season, Boston University junior pitcher Kasey Ricard was selected as the Patriot League Pitcher of the Year. Her teammate, junior infielder Brooke Deppiesse, was named the 2025 Defensive Player of the Year.
Lehigh first-year outfielder Kelly Fricker rounded out the major awards as the 2025 Patriot League Softball Rookie of the Year.
All seven League programs were represented on the All-League teams. Army West Point led the way with nine selections, while Lehigh had six and Boston University had five. Bucknell and Colgate earned two selections apiece, while Lafayette and Holy Cross each had one.
The Major Awards and All-League teams were voted on by the seven Patriot League head coaches who could not vote for their student-athletes or themselves.
2025 Patriot League Softball Player of the Year
Ashton White, Army West Point, Jr., INF, Dothan, Ala./Wicksburg
*White, the Patriot League Preseason Player of the Year, led Army West Point with a .381 batting average, ranking fourth in the League.
*The junior tied for second in the League with 67 hits and ranked fourth with 38 RBIs.
*White posted a .545 slugging percentage (sixth in the League) and recorded a .939 fielding percentage with 36 putouts and 87 assists.
2025 Patriot League Softball Defensive Player of the Year
Brooke Deppiesse, Boston University, Jr., INF, Redwood City, Calif./St. Francis
*Deppiesse recorded 96 putouts, 58 assists, and a .975 fielding percentage for the Terriers.
*The two-time Patriot League Player of the Week led the League in OPS (1.172) and ranked third in batting average (.416).
*Deppiesse becomes the fourth Terrier to earn Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year honors since the award’s inception in 2014.
2025 Patriot League Softball Pitcher of the Year
Kasey Ricard, Boston University, Jr., P, Littleton, Mass./Littleton
*Ricard, the Patriot League Preseason Pitcher of the Year, led the League in wins (24) and ERA (1.99) to pace the Terriers and win her second consecutive Patriot League Pitcher of the Year award.
*A three-time Patriot League Pitcher of the Week, she led the League with 212 strikeouts, ranking 13th nationally.
*Ricard is the third straight Boston University pitcher to win the award in back-to-back seasons, joining Ali DuBois (2018–19, 2021) and Allison Boaz (2022–23).
2025 Patriot League Softball Rookie of the Year
Kelly Fricker, Lehigh, Fy., OF, West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin
*Fricker led the League with a .437 batting average, ranking 34th nationally and second among NCAA rookies.
*The first-year paced the League with 76 hits (11th nationally) and ranked third in OPS at 1.057.
*Fricker becomes the first Mountain Hawk to earn Patriot League Rookie of the Year honors since Nicole Yozzo in 2015.
2025 Patriot League Softball Coach of the Year
Jen Consaul, Army West Point
*Consaul guided Army West Point to a 16–2 League record and its first regular-season title since 2010, marking the program’s best overall record since 2017.
*The 16 League wins are the most in a single season in program history.
*Consaul is the first Army West Point softball coach to earn Patriot League Coach of the Year honors since 2016.
