PATRIOT LEAGUE MEN’S BASKETBALL WEDNESDAY MATCHUPS (HOW TO WATCH/LISTEN)
Patriot League play continues on Wednesday, with five League games available on ESPN+.
• Army West Point hosts Lehigh in a rematch of the League opener at 6 p.m. The Black Knights earned an 85-78 overtime win over the Mountain Hawks on Dec. 31. The teams are tied for first in NCAA DI with five OT games apiece.
•Boston University welcomes Navy for a 7 p.m. tip-off. The Mids earned an 82-77 win over the Terriers behind 27 points from Sr. G Austin Benigni in their first meeting this season.
•Holy Cross travels to Colgate in the program’s first head-to-head meeting of the season. The Crusaders look to snap a three-game slide, with the Raiders coming off a 1-point victory against BU on Saturday.
•Lafayette and Bucknell meet for the first time this season in a game that was originally scheduled for Monday, Jan. 26. The Leopards and Bison meet for the 182nd time in series history.
•American puts its four-game winning streak on the line at Loyola Maryland in a 7 p.m. matchup. The Eagles won the League opener, 84-69, on Dec. 31.

SEVEN ROOKIES AMONG THE PL TOP 25 SCORING LEADERS
Seven freshmen are among the Patriot League’s top 25 scorers. Colgate’s Andrew Alekseyenko, a five-time League Rookie of the Week, is 10th, averaging 14.4 ppg. Bucknell’s Amon Dörries (13.4 ppg) is 14th, BU’s Chance Gladden (13.1 ppg) is 16th American’s Madden Collins (13.0 ppg) is 18th. Loyola Fr. F Emmett Adair ranks No. 21, in the League, averaging 11.8 ppg, while Bucknell Fr. G Pat Curtin (11.8 ppg) is 23rd and Army Fr. G Jackson Furman (11.3 ppg) is 24th.

ARMY, BU AND LEHIGH TIED FOR NCAA DI LEAD IN OVERTIME GAMES
Jason Knapp of CBS Sports Network said it best when he remarked, “You can’t spell Patriot League without OT.”  Army West Point, Boston University and Lehigh have each needed overtime to decide the outcome of five games this season, tying Robert Morris and Troy for the most in NCAA Division I.
*The Mountain Hawks have needed an extra session three times in League play alone. They downed Boston University, 93-91, in OT on Jan. 14, with losses to the Black Knights (85-78) on Dec. 31 and Navy (82-79) in double overtime on Jan. 17.
*The Terriers have also played three overtime games in League play, including a 77-73 win against Lafayette on Jan. 21 and an 80-79 loss at Colgate on Jan. 24.
*Three of Army’s five overtime games have come in League play, including an 87-84 win over Bucknell on Jan. 21. They also lost to Loyola Maryland, 84-76, in OT on Jan. 7.
*Last season, Bucknell set the NCAA DI single-season record with nine overtime games played.
 
KEHOE AMONG NCAA DI FG PCT. AND DOUBLE-DOUBLE LEADERS
Navy Sr. C Aidan Kehoe leads NCAA DI in field-goal percentage, connecting at a 72.6% (135-of-186) clip from the field through 21 games. Kehoe is shooting 77.0% (62-of-80) in eight League games. The senior center is also 14th in NCAA DI with 10 double-doubles.
 
MCNAIR RANKS AMONG DI’S BEST FROM 3-POINT RANGE
Boston U Jr. G Michael McNair is sixth in NCAA DI in 3-point field-goal percentage, connecting on 45.8% (66-of-144) of his attempts through 21 games. McNair has hit a League season-high seven 3-pointers in games against Penn State (Nov. 25) and Army West Point (Jan. 10), helping the Terriers lead the Patriot League and rank 18th in NCAA DI with a team 3-point percentage of 38.4%. McNair is tied for eighth in League history, connecting at a 41.5 % clip from deep for his career.
 
RYAN CURRY REACHES 1,000 POINTS AND 300 ASSISTS
Army West Point Jr. G Ryan Curry became the 172nd men’s basketball student-athlete to join the Patriot League 1,000-point club. Curry scored 14 points at Holy Cross on Jan. 14 to eclipse the milestone. He topped 300 career assists in the same game, becoming the 67th League men’s basketball player to accomplish the feat. Curry is averaging 15.0 points and 4.9 assists in 20 games this season.
 
JALEN COX POSTS TRIPLE-DOUBLE
Jr. G Jalen Cox recorded a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a win vs. Bucknell on Jan. 17. Cox’s triple-double was the first by a League men’s basketball player since Loyola’s Golden Dike accomplished the feat on Jan. 6, 2024. It was the first by a Raider since Tucker Richardson recorded a triple-double in the 2023 Patriot League Championship Game vs. Lafayette. Cox ranks third in the League in scoring (16.7 ppg), leads the PL in assists (5.4 apg) and is second in steals (1.8 apg). He is also averaging 4.9 rebounds per game.
 
BENIGNI REACHES EXCLUSIVE CLUB
Navy Sr. G Austin Benigni eclipsed 1,700 points in the Mids’ victory over Army West Point on Jan. 14 to become the third Patriot League men’s basketball student-athlete to reach 1,700 points and 400 assists. He surpassed 400 career assists on Jan. 3 in the Mids’ win vs. Holy Cross. Benigni ranks 22nd in League history in career points (1,704) and 24th in assists (425).

NAVY’S KEHOE, DRAPER CONTINUE TO PACE THE PL ON THE GLASS
Sr. C Aidan Kehoe and Sr. F Donovan Draper are first and fourth, respectively, in the Patriot League in rebounding this season, helping the Midshipmen pull down a League-best 37.3 rebounds per game. The Mids’ forwards continue to pace the League in rebounding. Kehoe leads the League and ranks eighth in NCAA DI with 10.6 rebounds per game. Draper is tied for fourth, averaging 6.4 rpg and is 31st in League history with 682 career boards.
 
MCNAIR WINS LOU HENSON NATIONAL WEEKLY AWARD
BU’s McNair was named the Lou Henson Award National Player of the Week by CollegeInsider.com on Jan. 12. He averaged 28.5 points, hitting 12-of-16 3-pointers in wins against Lafayette and Army West Point. McNair scored a career-high 29 points vs. Lafayette on Jan. 7. He followed it up with 28 points in a 100-91 win vs. the Black Knights for BU’s first 100-point game against a League opponent since 1989.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE PENFED CREDIT UNION MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nasir Whitlock, Lehigh, Jr., G, Brooklyn Park, Minn./DeLaSalle
*Whitlock led Lehigh with 24.0 points per game on 60.9% (14-of-23) shooting from the field, connecting on 62.5% (5-of-8) from 3-point range, while adding 5.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals during the Mountain Hawks’ 2-0 week.
*He posted 28 points on 8-of-11 shooting to go along with seven assists, three rebounds and two steals in an 88-81 victory over Loyola Maryland on Monday.
*On Saturday, Whitlock scored a game-high 20 points and added three rebounds and three assists in a 64-59 win over rival Lafayette.   
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE PENFED CREDIT UNION MEN’S BASKETBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Amon Dörries, Bucknell, Fr., C, Potsdam, Germany/Schul- und Leistungssportzentrum
*Dörries averaged 19.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in Bucknell’s losses against Army West Point and Loyola Maryland last week, shooting 62% (16-of-26) from the field.
*He scored a career-high 26 points on 11-of-19 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds against the Greyhounds. It was the highest-scoring game by a Bison freshman since Gordon Mboya posted 27 points against Harvard on Dec. 29, 1993.
*The freshman center scored 13 points, connecting on 5-of-7 from the floor, to go along with four rebounds, two assists and two steals against the Black Knights.
