Patriot League Men’s Basketball PenFed Credit Union Players of the Week Announced (2.23.26)

Navy’s Benigni and Bucknell’s Dörries receive weekly accolades

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Navy senior guard Austin Benigni collected Patriot League Men’s Basketball PenFed Credit Union Player of the Week honors when the League office announced its weekly awards Monday. Bucknell freshman center Amon Dörries earned Rookie of the Week honors.
 
Benigni earned Patriot League Men’s Basketball PenFed Credit Union Player of the Week award for the third time this season and seventh time in his career after averaging 26.0 points and 5.0 assists to help Navy go 2-0 last week and claim its first outright Patriot League regular-season title since 1997.  
 
Dörries was named Patriot League Men’s Basketball PenFed Credit Union Player of the Week for the fifth time this season after averaging 20.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in the Bison’s losses against American and Holy Cross.
 
American senior guard Geoff Sprouse, Bucknell senior guard Achile Spadone, Colgate junior guard Jalen Cox, Holy Cross sophomore guard Tyler Boston, Lafayette senior guard Ryan Pettit and Lehigh junior guard Nasir Whitlock were recognized as honorable mentions for their performances last week.
 
The Patriot League men’s basketball players of the week are selected in a vote by League media members and each school’s men’s basketball athletics communications contacts, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

*Benigni averaged 26.0 points and 5.0 assists while shooting 48.1% (13-of-27) from the field, 69.2% (9-of-13) from 3-point range and a perfect 17-of-17 from the free-throw line to help Navy go 2-0 last week.
*He led the Mids with 25 points and seven assists, hitting a career-high six 3-pointers in a 72-49 victory over Lehigh to claim the Patriot League regular-season title.
*He scored 27 points in an 81-63 win over Army West Point to win the Star Game and sweep the season series.

*Dörries averaged 20.5 points and 7.0 rebounds, posting his seventh and eighth 20-point performances of the season against American and Holy Cross.
*The freshman center scored 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting and added five rebounds and three assists against the Eagles on Wednesday.
*He posted 20 points and nine rebounds on 8-of-16 shooting against the Crusaders on Sunday.

Geoff Sprouse, American, Sr., G, Pembroke Pines, Fla./Pembroke Pines
*Sprouse scored a career-high 28 points, matching a 2025-26 Patriot League single-game high with eight made 3-pointers (8-of-11) in the Eagles’ 75-57 victory over Lafayette on Sunday. The senior guard added nine points on 3-of-7 shooting from 3-point range in a 75-57 victory at Bucknell on Wednesday.
 
Achile Spadone, Bucknell, Sr., G, Geneva, Switzerland/St. Thomas More (Conn.)
*Spadone averaged 19.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in games against American and Holy Cross last week. He recorded his second collegiate double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds against Holy Cross on Sunday. He finished with 18 points and seven boards against American on Wednesday.
 
Jalen Cox, Colgate, Jr., G, Los Angeles, Calif./Loyola
*Cox averaged 24.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game to help Colgate go 1-1 last week. The junior guard posted a 38-point, 11-rebound double-double in a 101-98 overtime win over Loyola Maryland on Saturday. He finished with 10 points and five boards in a loss against Boston University on Monday.
 
Tyler Boston, Holy Cross, So., G, Severn, Md./Bullis
*Boston averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 assists on 48% (12-of-25) shooting from the floor and 45.5% shooting from 3-point range to help Holy Cross go 1-1 last week. He finished with 19 points, a career-high seven rebounds and four assists in a 72-63 win at Bucknell on Sunday.
 
Ryan Pettit, Lafayette, Sr., G, Westfield, N.J./Rutgers Prep
*Pettit scored a career-high 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds to help Lafayette overcome a 19-point deficit in the second half in an 86-83 victory over Holy Cross on Wednesday. The senior guard contributed 13 points and four boards in a loss against American on Sunday.
 
Nasir Whitlock, Lehigh, Jr., G, Brooklyn Park, Minn./DeLaSalle
*Whitlock averaged 25.0 points on 48.5% (16-of-33) shooting from the floor, including 41.5% (5-of-12) from 3-point range during Lehigh’s 1-1 week. He scored 30 points, tying him for the NCAA DI lead with seven 30-point performances this season, hitting 9-of-16 shots from the floor in a 70-67 win over Boston University on Sunday. He scored 20 points in a loss at Navy on Wednesday.
