PATRIOT LEAGUE MEN’S BASKETBALL MATCHUPS ON WEDNESDAY
All 10 Patriot League men’s basketball teams are in action for Wednesday’s penultimate slate of League games, with five games available on
ESPN+.
•Army West Point hosts Bucknell at 11 a.m. in a matchup of teams tied at 5-11 in the League standings. The Black Knights defeated the Bison, 87-84 in overtime, on a game-winning 3-pointer from Fr. G Jackson Furman.
•Navy travels to Loyola Maryland looking to extend its 11-game win streak with a 7 p.m. tip-off. The Mids downed the Greyhounds, 65-50, on Jan. 31 behind 23 points on 11-of-11 shooting from Sr. C Aidan Kehoe.
•American meets Lehigh with both teams needing a win to clinch a top-four seed in the Patriot League Championship. The Mountain Hawks earned a 90-82 victory against the Eagles on Feb. 11, as Jr. G Nasir Whitlock scored a game-high 33 points.
•Boston University welcomes Holy Cross for a 7 p.m. game. The Terriers claimed a 72-64 win against the Crusaders, as Jr. G Michael McNair led four BU players in double-figures with 18 points.
•Colgate hosts Lafayette at 7 p.m. for a chance to clinch the No. 2 seed in the League Championship. The Raiders won the first meeting against the Leopards this season on Dec. 31, behind 29 points from Jr. G Jalen Cox.

NCAA RANKING SUMMARY
NAVY CLINCHES NO. 1 SEED AND REGULAR-SEASON CROWN; NO. 22 IN MID-MAJOR TOP 25
Navy defeated Lehigh, 72-49, on Feb. 18 to clinch the No. 1 seed in the 2026 Patriot League Men’s Basketball Championship and its first outright League regular-season title since 1997. Navy has won 19 of its last 20 games, including 11 straight and rank sixth in NCAA DI in scoring defense (63.6 ppg). The Midshipmen ranked 22nd in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 and are receiving a vote in the AP Top 25 Poll released on Feb. 22.
REED EARNS 300TH CAREER WIN
Lehigh head coach Brett Reed earned his 300th career win in the Mountain Hawks’ victory over Boston University on Feb. 22, joining Lafayette legend Fran O’Hanlon as the only men’s basketball coaches to accumulate 300 career wins in the Patriot League.
MCNAIR FOURTH AMONG NCAA DI LONG-DISTANCE SHOOTERS
Boston U Jr. G Michael McNair is fourth in NCAA DI in 3-point field-goal percentage, connecting on 45.7% (95-of-208) of his attempts through 29 games. McNair has hit seven 3-pointers in games against Penn State (Nov. 25) and Army West Point (Jan. 10), helping the Terriers lead the Patriot League and rank fifth in NCAA DI in team 3-point percentage (39.7%). He earned Lou Henson Award National Player of the Week by CollegeInsider.com on Jan. 12.
WHITLOCK TIED FOR NCAA DI LEAD IN 30-POINT PERFORMANCEES
Lehigh Jr. G Nasir Whitlock posted his seventh 30-point performance of the season on Feb. 22 vs. BU to tie for the NCAA DI lead with Jackson State’s Daeshun Ruffin and Tarleton State’s Dior Johnson. Whitlock has half of the League’s 14 30-point games this season, ranking 22nd in the nation in scoring (20.6 ppg). His 33-point performance in a 90-82 win at American on Feb. 11, helped him surpass 1,000 career points.
30-Point Saturday - On Jan. 31, Whitlock was one of four League players to score 30 or more points, along with Bucknell’s Amon Dörries (36), BU’s Chance Gladden (34) and Colgate Jr. G Jalen Cox (34). It marked the most League men’s basketball players to score 30 or more points on a single day since Feb. 16, 2011. Bucknell’s Bryson Johnson, Holy Cross’ Devin Brown and Lehigh’s C.J. McCollum each scored 30 or more points.
KEHOE AMONG NCAA DI FG PCT. AND DOUBLE-DOUBLE LEADERS
Navy Sr. C Aidan Kehoe leads NCAA DI in field-goal percentage, connecting at a 73.8% (192-of-260) clip from the field through 29 games. Kehoe is shooting 77.3% (119-of-154) in 16 League games. The senior center is also seventh in NCAA DI in rebounding (10.8 rpg) and fourth in double-doubles (16).
SEVEN ROOKIES AMONG PATRIOT LEAGUE SCORING LEADERS
Seven freshmen are among the Patriot League’s top 25 scorers. Bucknell’s Amon Dörries (15.4 ppg) scored a career-high 36 points vs. Boston U on Jan. 31, the most by a League rookie since at least 2010 and is 27th among NCAA DI freshmen.
•Colgate’s Andrew Alekseyenko, a five-time League Rookie of the Week, is averaging 14.7 ppg.
•Loyola Fr. F Emmett Adair is 13th (14.2) after averaging 20.9 ppg in his last seven games.
•BU’s Chance Gladden (13.8) scored 34 points against Bucknell on Jan. 31, tied with Colgate’s Will Rayman for the second-highest single-game total by a Patriot League rookie since at least 2010.
•American Fr. G Madden Collins (13.5) is 18th, Bucknell Fr. G Pat Curtin (11.7) is 21st and Holy Cross Fr. F Aiden Disu (10.7) is 25th.

BENIGNI REACHES EXCLUSIVE CLUB
Navy Sr. G Austin Benigni eclipsed 1,800 points in a victory over Lehigh on Feb. 18 to become the second Patriot League men’s basketball student-athlete to reach 1,800 points and 400 assists. He surpassed 400 career assists on Jan. 3 in a win vs. Holy Cross. Benigni ranks 13th in League history in career points (1,836) and 20th in assists (460). Benigni was named to the 2025-26 Lou Henson Award Early Season Watch List, an honor presented to the mid-major player of the year.

LEHIGH LEADS NCAA DI IN OT GAMES; BU SECOND, ARMY THIRD
Jason Knapp of CBS Sports Network said it best when he remarked, “You can’t spell Patriot League without OT.” Lehigh has needed overtime to decide the outcome of seven games this season, the most in NCAA Division I. Boston University is second in the nation with six OT games, while Army West Point is tied for third with five.
*The Mountain Hawks have needed an extra session five times in League play. They downed Boston University, 93-91, in OT on Jan. 14, and Colgate, 77-76 in OT on Jan. 31. They lost to the Black Knights (85-78) on Dec. 31, Navy (82-79) in double-overtime on Jan. 17 and Loyola (89-84) on Feb. 4.
*The Terriers have also played four OT games in League play, including a 77-73 win against Lafayette on Jan. 21 and an 80-79 loss at Colgate on Jan. 24. They fell, 103-97, in double overtime against Bucknell on Jan. 31.
*Three of Army’s five OT games have come in League play, including an 87-84 win over Bucknell on Jan. 21. They also lost to Loyola Maryland, 84-76, in OT on Jan. 7.
*Last season, Bucknell set the NCAA DI single-season record with nine overtime games played.
AMERICAN’S SIMPKINS NAMED NOMINEE FOR SKIP PROSSER AWARD
American head coach Duane Simpkins has been selected as a nominee for the 2025-26 Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award, presented annually by CollegeInsider.com to the NCAA Division I coach who wins with integrity on and off the court. Simpkins guided the Eagles to the League title in 2025.
COLGATE’S LANGEL SELECTED TO USA BASKETBALL’S U18 COACHING STAFF
Colgate men’s basketball head coach Matt Langel was selected to the 2026 USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team staff, serving as an assistant alongside Alabama head coach Nate Oats. Dayton head coach Anthony Grant is set to be the team’s head coach.
