BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bucknell received two of the five Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse weekly awards when the League office announced the honors on Monday. Boston University, Holy Cross and Lehigh each garnered one weekly honor.
Bucknell senior attack Owen Kovacs collected Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career following his five-goal performance in the 14-12 win over Colgate.
Boston University junior Logan Styles received Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording a career-high four caused turnovers in the Terriers’ 10-8 win against Army West Point.
For the second time this season, Bucknell’s Colin McLoy was honored as the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Faceoff Specialist of the Week. The junior went 17-for-26 (.654) at the ‘X’ and collected a team-high six ground balls.
Lehigh junior Kasey Heath was selected as the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Week after recording a season-high 17 saves and four ground balls in the Mountain Hawks’ 15-10 win at Loyola Maryland.
Holy Cross freshman attack Aedan Cassidy was named Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for the second time this season following three points on two goals and one assist in the Crusaders’ 11-9 win over Lafayette.
Honorable mentions went to Boston University sophomore goalkeeper Connor Phillips and sophomore attack Timothy Shannehan, Bucknell freshman midfielder Sean Murray and senior goalkeeper Jaz Zanelli, Holy Cross freshman faceoff specialist Shane McDonnell and senior long-stick midfielder Michael Rincon, Lehigh sophomore attack Luke Breslin, senior defender Richard Checo and freshman attack Finn Morgan.
