Patriot League Announces Boat of the Week (3.24.26)

Georgetown collects first Boat of the Week award

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Georgetown’s First Varsity 4+ boat garnered Patriot League Boat of the Week, when the League office announced the first set of honors on Tuesday.

Georgetown First Varsity 4+
Regatta: George’s Cup – Occoquan Reservoir, Fairfax, Virginia / 2,000 meters
*Georgetown secured a first-place finish in the First Varsity 4+ at the George’s Cup with a winning-time of 7:16.9, finishing nearly 10 seconds ahead of the second-place boat.

The Hoyas finished second in the George’s Cup team standings with 13 points.

Colgate First Varsity 4+
Regatta: Colgate vs. High Point & North Carolina – Oak Hollow Lake, High Point, N.C. / 2,000 meters
*Colgate’s First Varsity 4+ boat finished as the runner-up with a time of 8:14.50, competing against High Point and North Carolina.

Holy Cross Second Varsity 8+
Regatta: Jesuit Invitational – Overpeck Park, Leonia, N.J. / 2,000 meters
*Holy Cross’ Second Varsity 8+ boat claimed first place at the Jesuit Invitational as the Crusaders won the time trial by 13.3 seconds (7:34.90) and the grand final by 25.9 seconds (7:46.40).

PATRIOT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2026 Patriot League Women’s Rowing Championship will be held on Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J. on Friday, May 15. Patriot League members Boston University, Bucknell, Colgate, Georgetown, Holy Cross, Lehigh, Loyola Maryland, MIT and Navy will compete in the full-field championship, which features Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four and Second Varsity Four races. The winning team receives the Patriot League's automatic berth to the NCAA Championship. Boston University is the defending Patriot League champions.
