Full Men's Soccer Academic Honor Roll List
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Patriot League’s 10 men’s soccer programs combined to place 142 student-athletes on the 2019 Patriot League Men’s Soccer Academic Honor Roll when the League office released the list on Tuesday.
To be eligible for the Fall Academic Honor Roll a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade point average (GPA) in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League’s seven fall championship sports, including men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, football, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball.
American placed a League-high 20 student-athletes on the academic honor roll while Lafayette had 18 on the list with Boston University placing 17. Colgate followed closely with 16, Loyola Maryland had 15 and Bucknell and Lehigh placed 14 apiece on the list. Holy Cross (11), Army West Point (9) and Navy (8) round out the list.
All 11 members of the 2019 Academic All-Patriot League squad made the honor roll, including the men’s soccer scholar-athlete of the year, Bucknell junior midfielder Matt Thorsheim.
The 10 men’s soccer programs also placed 14 of the 33 2019 All-Patriot League first-, second- and third- team selections on the academic honor roll, including defensive player of the year Matt Nocita (Navy, So.) and goalkeeper of the year Will Smith (Lehigh, Sr.).
Nine student-athletes earned a 4.0 GPA during the fall semester, including American senior Luke Browning, sophomore Malachy McGovern, freshman Jon Mesbah and senior Tim Newmann, Holy Cross freshman Emmanuel Petrov, Lafayette freshman Connor Ford, Loyola Maryland freshman Albert Kang, and Navy freshman Luke O’Hara and sophomore Ryan Teuschl.
