Patriot League Announces 197 Student-Athletes Named to 2019 Women’s Soccer Academic Honor Roll List (1.28.20)

CENTER VALLEY, Pa.— The Patriot League's 10 women's soccer programs combined to place 197 student-athletes on the 2019 Patriot League Women's Soccer Academic Honor Roll when the League office released the list on Tuesday.
 
To be eligible for the Fall Academic Honor Roll a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade point average (GPA) in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports, including men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's and women's soccer and volleyball.

American, Colgate, and Holy Cross all tied for the highest number of student-athletes on the 2019 Patriot League Women's Soccer Academic Honor Roll with 24 each. Lehigh and Loyola Maryland closely followed with 23 student-athletes each. Boston University, Bucknell, and Lafayette all placed 18 apiece on the list, while Army West Point (13) and Navy (12) rounded out the list.

30 of the 35 2019 Patriot League All-League Selections were named to the 2019 Patriot League Honor Roll list, including offensive player of the year Lafayette junior Krista Kissell, midfielder of the year Loyola Maryland senior Hannah Hoefs, defensive player of the year Navy senior Alex Jackson, and goalkeeper of the year Army junior Sydney Cassalia. All 11 members of the 2019 First-Team All-Patriot League Team were selected to the 2019 Women's Soccer Honor Roll.

The 2019 Patriot League Women's Soccer Honor Roll list included 24 students who attained a 4.0 GPA during the fall semester including 2019 Patriot League Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year, senior Sydney Fortson. Loyola Maryland had the highest number (6) of 4.0 student-athletes with sophomore Sarah Bayer, sophomore Gillian Borton, senior Mary Theresa Corcoran, junior Sabrina Daglish, senior Beth Eversman and sophomore Grace Li. Junior Tori Kent, Senior Amy Krotine and senior Victoria Mattson from American, junior Reilly McGinnis, sophomore Sarah Rutherford and sophomore Gillian Schiffer from Army West Point. Sophomore From Bucknell Raegan Dunwoodie and senior Ali Russo along with junior Jenna Barnes, freshman Izzy Castaganetti, senior Cassie Cheeseman and junior Sydney Fisher from Holy Cross. Junior Camryn Monfort from Lafayette, senior Sidonie Warnecker from Lehigh, along with senior Sydney Fortson, senior Cadie Higginson, junior Molly Swiger and sophomore Victoria Tran round out of the list.
