BETHLEHEM, Pa. – American, Bucknell, Colgate and Lehigh split the four Patriot League Field Hockey weekly awards when the League office announced honors on Monday.
Colgate graduate student forward Taylor Casamassa received Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week after totaling five goals in two games to help the Raiders go 1-1 last week.
Lehigh junior defender Sydney White captured Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week after anchoring the Mountain Hawks defense and scoring a goal during a 3-2 overtime victory over rival Lafayette.
American sophomore goalkeeper Bryn Underwood earned her fourth Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week this season after her seven-save performance against Boston University helped the Eagles clinch the League’s regular-season title.
Bucknell freshman Lily Neilson picked up her fifth Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor of the season after scoring her League-leading 13th goal in a 4-2 win over Colgate on Friday.
American graduate student Noor Coenen and senior defender Maura Phelan, Bucknell junior forward Kile Mackenzie, Lafayette senior goalkeeper Hailey Abbott, senior forward Molly McAndrew and senior midfielder Audrey Sawers, and Lehigh graduate student midfielder Lenke Havas all collected honorable mentions for their performances last week.
American Clinches Patriot League Field Hockey Regular-Season Title; Bucknell, Lafayette and Lehigh in Championship Field
No. 19 American clinched the Patriot League regular-season title for the 11th time after improving to 5-0 in League play with a 3-1 victory over Boston University on Saturday. The Eagles will host the four-team Patriot League Championship, beginning with the semifinal round on Thursday, Nov. 4. Bucknell, Lafayette and Lehigh have also clinched berths in the tournament, with seeding still to be determined. The Patriot League Field Hockey Championship Game is slated for Saturday, Nov. 6. All three games can be seen on ESPN+.
American Ranked No. 19 in NFHCA DI Coaches Poll
The Eagles climbed three spots to No. 19 in last week’s National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I National Coaches Poll. Since then, American defeated BU, 1-0, on Saturday.

*Casamassa totaled five goals and 10 points to lead Colgate to a 1-1 week that included a win over Towson (4-3) on Sunday.
*The graduate student forward totaled a career-high four goals in the Raiders’ 4-3 win over the Tigers. She scored the game-winning goal at the 48:27 mark in the fourth quarter.
*Casamassa scored a game-tying goal in the fourth quarter of Friday’s match against Bucknell, an eventual 4-2 loss.
PATRIOT LEAGUE FIELD HOCKEY DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sydney White, Lehigh, Jr., Defender, Crofton, Md./Annapolis Area Christian
*White anchored a Lehigh defensive effort that held Lafayette to two goals and just five shots after halftime in the Mountain Hawks 3-2 win.
*The center back scored the game-tying goal at the 37:45 mark in the third quarter before helping hold Lafayette without a shot in the fourth quarter to force an extra frame.
*White and the Mountain Hawks improved to 4-2; the most Patriot League wins for the program since 1996.
PATRIOT LEAGUE FIELD HOCKEY GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Bryn Underwood, American, So., Goalkeeper, Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson
*Underwood made seven saves in the Eagles’ 3-1 victory over Boston University to help American clinch the Patriot League regular-season title.
*The sophomore goalkeeper made three of her seven saves in the fourth quarter to hold off a Terriers’ comeback attempt.
*Underwood leads the Patriot League with a .797 save percentage and has allowed just three goals in five League games.
PATRIOT LEAGUE FIELD HOCKEY ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lily Neilson, Bucknell, Fr., Midfielder, Armidale, New South Wales, Australia/The Armidale School
*Neilson scored her League-high 13th goal of the season in Bucknell’s 4-2 victory over Colgate on Saturday.
*The Australia native’s unassisted goal came at the 24:11 mark in the second quarter for the second Bison goal of the game.
*She has scored 10 goals in five League games to help the Bison to a 4-1 record.

*Coenen scored the game’s final goal in American’s 3-1 victory over Boston University on Saturday. She leads the Eagles with 22 points on eight goals and six assists. She is seventh in Patriot League history with 133 career points.

*Phelan scored the first goal of the game on a penalty stroke and made a defensive save in the Eagles’ 3-1 victory over Boston University on Saturday.

*Mackenzie scored two goals, including a fourth-quarter game-winner in Bucknell’s 4-2 victory over Colgate on Friday night.

*Abbott made four saves in Lafayette’s 1-0 shutout over Temple on Sunday. She also made seven saves and allowed three goals in an overtime loss to Lehigh on Friday.
