BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced 1,098 student-athletes across seven sports made the 2021-22 Fall Academic Honor Roll when it was announced by the League office.
To be eligible for the Fall Academic Honor Roll a student-athlete must earn a 3.20-grade point average (GPA) in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League’s seven fall championship sports. Those seven sports include men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, football, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball.
The Fall Academic Honor Roll is comprised of 584 women across four sports and 514 men recognized in three sports. Patriot League football led the way with 239 academic honorees. Women’s soccer finished with 205 academic honor roll members, while women’s cross country placed 161 student-athletes on the honor roll. Student-athletes from men’s soccer (142), men’s cross country (133), field hockey (115) and volleyball (103) also contributed to the 1,097 student-athletes to garner academic recognition.
Bucknell recorded a League-high 149 student-athletes on the fall academic honor roll with Colgate (135) and Lafayette (126) placing second and third, respectively. Lehigh had 123 student-athletes earn fall academic honors, with Holy Cross (105), American (94), Boston University (85), Loyola Maryland (82), Navy (81) and Army West Point (48) rounding out the totals from the Patriot League's full-member institutions. Associate members Fordham (38) and Georgetown (32) also contributed to the League's final tally.
During the fall semester, 119 Patriot League student-athletes recorded 4.0 grade-point averages (GPA).
